Beautiful design, heavy construction.The Bodum wok comes with a see-through glass lid, rack for draining fried items, and long chopsticks. It is a piece of art for your kitchen, drawing remarks from everyone that sees it. It is constructed of heavy duty cast iron with an enameled flat base (to avoid scratching) that can be used on a ceramic/glass, electric, or gas cooking surface. The interior is sprayed by the manufacturer with a mixture of glass and porcelain that is bonded by high heat. This makes the interior cooking surface resistant to rusting (although you should never leave it in water for long periods or use soap). It performs beautifully and retains heat well, especially for frying. You can also steam and saute in it. After a few times, you'll get the hang of how much heat from the stove should be applied during the cooking process. The one issue I have is that because of its size and weight, it cannot be held with one hand to empty the food out...you have to use two hands! Overall, I've always been satisfied by Bodum products.
Best Wok You'll Ever OwnWow! I loved this wok so much, I purchased one for each of my sisters (I have 5) & for my brother who loves to cook. Each one of us has enjoyed it as much as the other. Love it. Great Purchase!!
