Irons Review Good iron,but
there is no auto shut-off,there is no off/on control at all, just unplug or plug in.On positive side makes great steam and does have non-stick soleplate. The fabric select dial is very difficult to turn.I got it for my sewing room,it takes care of my needs there, didn't pay much for it,so guess I got what I paid for.(Friday Sale 9.99)

Irons Review Best value for an iron
I'm impressed with this iron because the price is so reasonable and the product is reliable. It's easy to spend more money on something that may seem to be better because of it's BRAND name but why pay more when this iron is just as good or better. I will definatley buy another Black & Decker iron.

Irons Review Light Iron does wonderful job!
I purchased this item based on the reviews. It really is very very light. I was suprised at how quickly its heated up and ready to go and how quickly it cools down and can be easily stored. Its design allows the heated part of the iron not to touch when you set it down and it also acts as a wrap for the cord. The steam is great and powerful. It comes with it's own water pouring cup for steam too. Very satisfied!

Irons Review Great product!
I am very happy with all of my Lodge Logic purchases. This lid has spikes on the underside which serve to 'baste' the food as it cooks.

Irons Review Take your 10-1/4-inch skillets uses up a notch!
If you own the Lodge Logic 10-1/4-inch skillet, this cover allows for more versatility. It allows for even heating and dutch oven type use. If you prepare something, and just want to keep it warm, or use it outdoors and need protection. It also will seal in nutrients and flavors because of the tight fit, and also the self-basting spikes. I used another lid in a pinch, but it didnt give me the same cooking results as the Lodge lid. The 3-quart chicken fryer, and 5-quart Dutch oven have the same size lids, and you can interchange those lids, but I found I was using them at the same times often, and needed a seperate lid for my skillet. For the price, it just doesnt make sense not to go ahead and have one.

Irons Review This pan is poorly designed
Bottom line : if you are looking for a grill pan, this unit is not it. The ridges are sharp, too high, and not rounded. At best it steams the meat, maybe more healthful vs. less oil?. Meat sits too high above the heat base and juices. Hence it pumps out atomized oil and vapors like a chimney, not good. I have had much better results with an anodized aluminum square grill pan(reason for trying a cast iron grill pan), but refuse to use aluminum long term (not healthy). Best!! results are with my standard flat bottom cast iron pan. After a 2 weeks, went back to the flat pan and the meat is much much more flavorful. Don't waste you money. I have to wonder about some of the other reviews here (bad cooks? phonies?), it is obvious per stated design this pan is A DOG!

Irons Review BETTER than a George Foreman grill, I swear!
Okay, so my THIRD (count em *3rd*) Foreman grill in like 7 years bit the dust. I thought briefly about getting a new one, but the fact that they're a pain to clean, you can't set the thermostat and bottom line it gets very greasy and messy...fuggit about it! I considered the Cuisinart Griddler which looks really cool but I really didn't want to pay $100+ for one. Also I don't have a LOT of counter space. On the other hand I DO have a stove...so I started browsing. I already have a Lodge cast iron regular skillet and it's served me well for YEARS now. When I saw the grill skillet with the ridges I knew that's what I was looking for!

I just had a chance to use it for the first time this evening. What a pleasure - it was pre-seasoned so just had to wipe a bit of olive oil on the surface. Heated it up, and made a delicious steak! Came out nice and juicy with grill marks, not all dry and cooked wrong like on the Foreman. However I will have to buy a grill press as I used the bottom of my smaller cast iron skillet to 'sear' the steak and get those nice marks. But even buying both the grill pan and the grill press, you're paying significantly less than you would for a Foreman - and this cast iron lasts forever. Your grandkids will still be using it, I bet! Cast iron is better than any of those non-stick cooking surfaces (like on the Foreman) that flake off. Ew! Take it from me, get this pan and a grill press and skip the Foreman...

Irons Review Versatile and well-made
I bought this one because I was looking for something to fry various things in without the pot warping (as stainless steel pots do). Since I got this pot, I have been using it to cook all sorts of dishes--soup, stew, reheating rice etc. It's big enough to hold enough fried rice, for example, for 4, and I can pop the entire pot, lid and all, into the oven to keep warm. But it's not so big as to be too heavy to handle.

The best part about this pot is how nicely the lid fits. I was surprised how tight the lid seals the pot. The steam starts to escape only when the liquid in the pot is boiling really hard. The interior of the lid is unusual looking. It is not flat nor smooth. It has a dozen small protruding tips shaped like candy cones. When steam condenses on the inside of the lid, the resulting liquid falls along those tips back into the pot, instead of dripping off the edge of the lid. Ingeneous, I thought.

I find this a very versatile and useful pot. Extremely well made--almost polished for a cast iron pot. It comes seasoned.

Irons Review wonderful piece of cookware
the entire family loves the taste of the foods coming out of this masterpiece of cookware, and its not just for frying i have made stews and sauces too, excellent, do yourself a favor and get one.

Irons Review Just bought one
This is a very versatile pot. I've only made chicken in it twice, but everything else also seems to do well. It's an excellent size if you're not cooking for a crowd. I now have 3, 5, and 7 quart Lodge pots with two 2 quart serving pots on order from Amazon and none of my Caphalon Professional or All*clad compares.

Irons Review A Must Have!
This little pot can do a lot. It is just the right size for cooking for 2-4 people. I made about 20 stuffed grapeleaves that were cooked in water, tomato sauce and lemon juice and this little pot cooked them perfectly. Cleanup was a snap with just soap and water without any hard scrubbing at all. Don't fool yourself, this Le Creuset pot is a little workhorse...a must have for any kitchen!

Irons Review Best 2 quart pot in the world.
I got this to use with the Glorious ONE POT MEALS cookbook. It has wonderful recipies, and the pot works wonderful. Cleans up really easy. Try it, you'll love it.

I started buying Le creuset after watching the cooking shows on the Cooking Netwook. So many of the cooks use this cookware even if they have there own line like Emeril. Very expensive but well worth the money.

Irons Review I took the plunge.
I just today bought the Le Creuset 5.5 qt. French Round Oven in the Flame color. This is a beautiful pot!
After finally commiting to take the plunge with Le Creuset, I was then faced with the color dilemma.
30 years ago I had a 2.5 qt pot in their original flame color. In those days I didn't have any other good pots. I loved my little Le Creuset. But things happened and the pot is long lost.
I was planning to buy one of the newer colors for my French Oven. But when I saw the old Flame (no pun intended) color, I went for it.
It's now sitting on my cobalt blue Viking range and looks so good that I probably will just look at it for awhile before I use it.
The Amazon price is very good, and I almost bought it last night. I'm probably not supposed to say this, but I drove up to the Le Creuset outlet store north of Phoenix today and bought it for [...]. Not a second. The sale is supposed to go on for a week.
Hmmmmm.... they cencored the price. OK. Let's just say that I saved approx. the price of three bottles of Kendal-Jackson Chardonnay.

Irons Review Love it!
I purchased the 5.5 qt. LeCreuset oven after recommendations from Cooking Light, Cooks Illustrated and reading others' reviews. I only wish that I would have purchased this great product sooner! I have been inspired to cook more and try new recipes. I have also purchased the 2 qt size based on another suggestion, along with the cookbook "Glorious One Pot Meals" by Elizabeth Yarnell. She has lots of yummy recipes all designed around using the 2 qt size- for 2 servings.
Although the oven is heavy and somewhat difficult to handle at times, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who values quality cookware.

Irons Review A Honey of a Kettle
I think I read about all of the reviews before buying this dutch oven (Cherry Red). I put it in my shopping cart, then procrastinated - checked back, and the price had increased by about $30.

One valuable tip in the reviews was about the non-glazed inner rim of the lid. It could become rusty, so I try to clean the kettle as soon as possible and put the four little rubber tabs back on the outer rim to hold the lid up off of the kettle when not in use. It was also a nice idea to keep it on the stove where it adds a cheerful color to the kitchen.

I've had the dutch oven for about 4 months now, and I simply love it. It was a worthwhile investment. So far I've just been using it for making soups, soup stock, roasts and one-dish meals - but I'll be launching out with more experiments.

Thanks to a lot of the reviewers for their excellent tips and also warnings about what not to do. Here's to good health!!!!

Irons Review This brand is not worth the money
I purchased this iron a year ago. Needless to say I have had the same problems regarding the dripping of water at the bottom of the cord area that others have talked about.

I can say that this will be my last Rowenta purchase. I say this because this is not my first Rowenta iron, but my third.

Do not buy this brand. It's not worth the headache. If there were no stars this brand would get it. 1 star is too good for a brand this bad.

Irons Review Very *NICE* but WORTH the price? Hmmmmmm
This is my 4th Rowenta Iron (YES I'm clumsy but I *LOVE* Rowenta's). This was by far the most expensive that I've bought but I had a gift certificate to offset the cost. Honestly the only difference between the Professsional iron(s) and the $50-60 Rowenta's models is the WATER TANK and the WEIGHT (this is good for my wrist why?). However, it's nice that I don't have to keep filling up the water tank every two items especially when Rowenta suggests that we add water when the iron is UNHEATED (you've got to kidding!) But still, is it worth the extra money? Honey, I think *NOT* unless you have a gift certificate too. Also, as much I dropped them back in the day .. they keep on tickin'!! I've gotten BETTER over the years (13+) but this one (maybe others too) have the anti-slip on the bottom... so that should help eliminate some TIPPING OVER and any unnecessary accidental skin contact (ouch!). VERY NICE but truthfully why don't they ALL have this anti-slip? These aren't the $9.99 K-*art specials, so Rowenta SHOULD be able to add this to all of their irons. Hmm .. my next comments will be to the Rowenta folks with this EXACT suggestion too! Seriously. Happy Buying and remember .. this is a GOOD PRODUCT!!!!

Irons Review Very nice iron!
This is a great iron. It's quite heavy, but I like that. It really gets out the wrinkles. I don't even mind ironing any more!
