Got my wife the Singer 6038 as a birhday present.Unfortunately it did not come with the carrying case. Thankfully Amazon solves all my problems. I found this Singer universal carrying case and I bought it. Great product, very durable and the finishing is as good though I would've preferred if Singer had their emblem or sign on the case.In any case,I highly recommend the product. It redefines the term VALUE FOR MONEY.

A novice sewer with a basic machine, I wanted a simple case to hold the machine and its accessories. This one is perfect! It's nothing fancy, to be sure, but it does its job well. The case latches easily on both sides, and my machine, foot pedal, instruction manual, and accessory box all fit inside perfectly. It's easy to carry, lightweight, and the price is low. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend this item to anyone looking for a basic case for their machine!

Do not bother to buy this sewing machine case. It is crappy! Don't be fooled by the "Universal" phrase of this product. I have a Brother sewing machine so i bought this item. When i got it, i placed my sewing machine and i rattles around inside the case. I don't see what is so "Universal" about this. There is too much room inside and my machine tips over to its sides when i lift to carry the case. It's terrible!!! I'd give NO star but i don't have that choice on the selection. I wanted to return it but it's not worth the shipping charge that will incure on my refund due to Amazon's policies. By then i would probably only get at most $12.00 back in refunds.

This case is really good, it fits my 1034D Brothe serger very nicely. The only thing I wish it has, is a compartment below the sewing machine, like with a little trap door or something. but other than that, its great, and it does its job well

in the middle of a huge curtain making endeavour my old overlocker seized up...checked out the web reviews and found this one to rate best for my purposes...i'm actually making patchwork curtains so i'm doing alot of serging pieces together and this machine is working fine (once i got the hang of the different threading system)...the only complaint i have is that the tensions are a little strange but hey that's something you get the hang of as you go along...am loving the blind hem feature, something i'd never ventured into using before and must say that after a few long curtain hems i've pretty much got it invisible...highly recommend this machine for beginner to intermediate sewers...i'm sure there's a better machine out there for sewing goddesses BUT FOR THE PRICE THIS MACHINE WORKS WELL AND IS GOOD VALUE

I received the Serger quickly and it is brand new as advertised. I have not used it yet but read the instructions and believe it will be simple to learn. I am looking forward to using it shortly.

I have been sewing for years....and I can't believe I waited so long to get a serger! It has made sewing so much more of a pleasure. I can work with delicate fabrics now without any worries. This serger is the best for the money! It serges the most delicate of fabrics like a professional. If you are looking for a good little "workhorse" serger without spending tons of money this is the one for you. I love it!

I recently purchased EQ5 and am impressed with its originality. For those of us less talented in design its a wonderful tool. However, I cant give it a five star simply because of software issues with Windows XP. The program crashes with drawing errors. You must change settings on XP to have it work correctly. If completely compatible with XP I would not hestitate to rate it higher. Until then, there are too many glitches in the program. No drawing error should freeze the system.

I have only had this EQ5 program for a week and am thoroughly enjoying it. I highly reccomend following the tutorial book and doing the lessons that are in it. They showed me parts of the program I didn't even know were available. I have scanned and put in my own fabrics and printed out information from the program. It's really a great tool.

I ordered this product last week and have already been playing with it - it's great fun, very easy to install and comes with two full scale printed volumes, one a series of tutorials which it is recommended that everyone who buys the product does, and the other a recipe book to help you find out how to do different things.

The software is for designing patchwork quilts and comes with several different libraries. There are many different quilt layouts for you to choose including several one-patch layouts, a huge selection of fabrics, many block designs and all sorts of things which I haven't yet found in one evening's playing.

It's really easy to use and I found that when installing despite the instruction manual which stated a series of instructions for installing manually, the disk autoran and the installation procedures were transparent. The one thing which was not stated was that in XP you need to change the path to which it will save files otherwise it will create a new c:/My Documents/EQ5 folder in the root of the C drive. Of course if you want it to do that that's fine but I changed mine to follow the standard file path for XP's version of My Documents.

The software is easy to use though the on screen layout is rather different from most Windows programmes and it will be necessary to do at least the tutorials provided and to get the best out of it you may want to go to Quilt U at http://www.quiltuniversity.com/classlist.htm and take some of their courses.

This is very good value for money and I recommend it.

The Singer 5050 provides an excellent mid-range sewing machine at a low-end price.

Although not automatically threading like many top-of-the-line machines, the 5050 is incredibly easy to thread--moreso than even the underpowered little handheld stitchers advertised on TV. The thread tension and stitch widths are easily adjustable, providing for accurate, strong seams that don't snag or snap the thread during sewing.

The 5050 includes 50 different stitch functions (made from 32 stitches), can do 4-step buttonholes with ease, and can be used to do darning, embroidery, and all manner of decorative stitches.

Accessories included are a second pattern module (for an alternate 25 stitch functions), zipper, button, blindstitch, and special-purpose presser feet, an assortment of needles, a friction-free plate for embroidery, and spare bobbins. The feet simply snap on and off for quick changes.

The machine also can do free-arm sewing for easy cuff and hem finishes, is controlled electronically via a foot switch for excellent speed control, and is all-around one of the most excellent machines in its price range.

Right out of the box, the machine was missing the zigzag presser foot. I called Brother and they said I had to contact the retailer. When I finally got the foot, the machine was inoperable. I never even got to sew anything! I purchased a Singer 1507 and I am very pleased.

I am very pleased with this machine. Easy to use, sews a variety of fabrics. I previously had a Brother machine that finally bit the dust after 26 years so I am hoping for comparable longevity.

I replaced my Singer with this machine and I am more than happy with it. The Singer machine caused me problems from day one on. Contrary to the Singer the Brother machine is quiter, doesn't let the table vibrate and doesn't tangle up the stiches like my Singer does. I already made a couple of outfits for myself and it worked like a charm. I only can recommend this machine!!! I am having a ball with this little machine. And the price isn't to beat.

Despite the review above, I ordered this machine because it has all the features I wanted, AND there was a $25.00 dollar off special. I had seen the exact machine for sale at a very reputable store and decided to take advantage of the deal at Amazon. Firstly, the service was impeccable, I received it in 2 days, free shipping (amazon prime member) and got the exact machine I ordered.

The machine is working very well to begin with and it came with a zipper foot, satin stitch foot, button hole foot and some other small accessories. I love this machine already but I have only had it for one day. I will encourage anyone to try it, the Singer brands are usually very reliable.

This sewing machine is wonderful but don't buy it from Amazon. I tried twice, both times they tried to sub in lower quality Singer Sewing Machine 7422. That model retails regularly at Walmart for 179.99. Called Amazon customer service to see if there was anyway they could guarantee that if I ordered it again I would actually get the model request. All I got was the run around and rude treatment. Basically they said to check back o the site in a few weeks to see if the item was still posted and try again. I now have no faith in amazon, so I took my business elsewhere. I got a brand new machine, no shipping charge for 169.00 on Ebay - and it was delivered in 2 days! Way better treatment than Amazon

This machine worked well at first on really simple stuff but is not good for the long haul or anything more complex. The thread becomes a rats nest on the bottom and messing with the tension can take years! This is great if you will always use thin fabric and sew in straight lines.

This machine sewed beautifully, without any modifications at all, right out of the box. The instructions are quite monkey proof.

It seems to be a good, very inexpensive machine.

I have owned this machine since Mother's Day 2005. I have not had a minute's trouble with it. In fact, I prefer it over my Bernina 1090! It has so many features you would expect to pay thousands of dollars for! I thought I would never be able to afford a machine that did all this. The best part is, this machine comes complete with absolutely everything you can buy for it--there are no extra feet to buy, etc., because this includes everything you need.

One night just for fun I worked through the entire instruction book. It is without a doubt the best and most complete manual I have ever gotten with a sewing machine. I was able to master every stitch function and attachment in one very pleasant evening. You really don't need another machine. The feet are plastic, which is GREAT--you can see through them. There is nothing cheesy about the parts--they all work exactly as they should. I am crazy about my machine, and its support materials. So crazy, in fact, that I recently bought the Brother serger here on Amazon, and it is just as good. GREAT machines. Why spend more? Buy this inexpensive machine and you'll have lots more money to spend on FABRIC!!

I recently purchased this sewing machine and it is fantastic it is only the second time i have ever used a sewing machine, so i am a real amateur! and with this machine (got it 3 weeks ago) i started sewing pretty much in a minute straight out the box, super easy to use and fun,

I finally decided to buy a new machine and after reading the reviews I figured I couldn't go wrong with this one. Now I wonder why I waited so long!! This machine is fabulous! The drop down bobbin threader is wonderful and the machine is so easy to use! I even let my 10 year old sew on it and she had absolutely no problems! I would have never let her use my old one as it was horrible and so hard to sew on. I am very pleased with this machine and recommend it highly.

Before buying this machine I hadn't sewn since Jr High School (25+ years ago). I was able to get up and running and complete my first project (a dress for my daughter) in a couple of days.... It only took that long because I could only work about an hour a day. I dress turned out decent-- would have probably been better if I had a bit more experience.

Anyway... the machine was simple to use and easy to understand and gave me no problem unless i tried to do something stupid (like trying to sew without putting the presser foot down)

I like buying above my ability level- this machine is one I can grow into and I like that. I bought my machine at Walmart, they have the CS6000i instead of the CS6000t. As far as I can tell the only difference is that the Walmart version dosen't cost as much (under $200) and came with a few extra accessories.

I would buy this again and would recommend it to friends

I have two heavy home sewing machines but really wanted a little lightweight machine I could take to Project Linus (volunteer sewing) and sewing guild events, so I started my search and after a few weeks of looking and lifting (to make sure the machine wasn't heavy) and doing feature comparisons, I came up with this great little machine. It's a great machine and can do just about everything most people need. Plenty of stitches, easy drop-in bobbin, great needle threader. I took it with me to the last Project Linus blanket making project and everyone who tried it loved it and had no trouble, while the other machines were having all sorts of problems. It's nice and fast, and comes with lots of attachments which you have to pay for with many machines (walking foot for example, useful for quilting). I have to say, the features it has are awesome and I can grab it with one hand. Great product!
