Cheap price... Cheap vacuumPut your $40+ towards something better... This won't last past the 1st bag change.
Don't buyI've had the powerforce for less than two months and the belt has already broken on it. After searching about Bissell and broken belts, it seems like this is a common problem for them. Belts and brushes aren't covered under warranty as well and it doesn't matter whether it breaks on the 1st day or later, they say they aren't liable for anything.
A Waste of Money - Buy Something ElseI have had 2 of these vacuums and both broke within 3 months. With the first one it worked great for the price for about the first week. Then it started getting clogged. No matter how often I emptied the container or cleaned the filters it kept getting clogged to the point that nothing would be in the dirt container and I would have to completely take it apart and pull out the dirt and dog hair. It was a total nightmare. After 2 months it started getting hard to turn on. I would have to hit the switch several times for it to work. Before the 3rd month the on/off switch broke completely. I took it back and exchanged it for a new one. I had the same problems with the 2nd vacuum. The new one took about 3 weeks before it started getting clogged. And before the 2nd month the on/off switch broke again. It also lost all of it's suction power and would just push everything instead of picking stuff up. I have not been able to find my receipt to return it, so I am going to throw this vacuum out for the trash man to have. Although the price is cheap it was a total waste of money and a huge headache. I will never buy a Bissell vacuum cleaner again.

Low cost carpet cleaning devil!!!After having read the stellar reviews of the Dirt Devil CE7000, I began a quest to find one. My search ended up fruitless, however, as this machine has obviously been discontinued. I'm not for certain if the current CE6600 is a replacement to it, but I suspect it is since it's in the same price range and includes the "Easy Steamer" moniker. With this in mind, finding a retailer who carries the CE6600 was a daunting task as well. Let's see, I tried no less than three Wal-Marts, two Targets, two Lowe's, and a Best Buy in the Memphis area before throwing in the towel. I finally opted to order it direct from Walmart.com and I'm glad I did---$99 for the same machine from Walmart.com retails at about $25 less than I've seen it elsewhere advertised. It came via UPS in only 3 days!
The Dirt Devil CE6600 is a snap to assemble---literally. You simply uncrate it, snap a few parts together, and secure these parts with a handful of screws. Indeed, little ol' grandmothers can do it with ease.
This little "steamer," which is advertised as a "carpet shampooer," is very lightweight and is thus easy to trudge up and down stairs. This is a far cry better than my bulky Hoover which recently fouled out. The Dirt Devil CE6600 is quite easy to operate as well. Surely you know the routine by now---fill the tank with hot water and shampoo, pull down the lever to dispense solution while pushing forward, release the lever to suck up the solution while pulling towards you, etc.
For what it is---a value-priced carpet cleaner---it performs quite well. I'll venture to say that it cleans carpets even better than the gargantuan, $300 Hoover junk pile that it replaced. The small solution tank will prevent you from cleaning large expanses of carpet, but this is the compromise you make for having such easy portability. A small bedroom or dining room (about 100 square feet) is about all you can expect to clean in one tank. You can, however, expect to have your carpets looking cleaner and smelling fresher than ever before!
While this little Dirt Devil does have cleaning bristles on the bottom of the unit, these bristles do not swirl or scrub as they might on more expensive units. I found that on really dirty spots I needed to only move the bristles side to side to pick up the grime (the bristles can be easily seen thanks to the clear plastic at the front of the machine). To move the bristles, you literally move the front of the unit in a side to side motion. It's really easier than it sounds since this machine is such a featherweight! For truly stubborn spots you may find that you have to pre-treat the area just like all manufacturers recommend. I advise making your own cleaning solution instead of buying the manufacturer's brand. Simply follow the directions for making a carpet cleaner on the package of Oxyclean or a similar "oxygen cleaner" product.
When its all said and done, the Dirt Devil CE6600 can give the more expensive machines a real run for the money. I'll even venture to say that it performs better than others costing twice the price. If this unit actually holds up through time, it will truly be money well spent!
*****UPDATE*******
It's now been about 3 weeks since my machine arrived. I just ran out of the small, sample bottle of Dirt Devil brand shampoo included with the machine. When using the Bissell brand solution I bought at Costco, I noticed that it didn't clean the carpets quite as well. Furthermore, it barely even made a sud---even when using scalding hot water. My recommendation is to use the Dirt Devil brand shampoo that can usually be had at Wal-Mart. I always thought it to be just a bunch of hoopla, but maybe this time following the manufacturers's recommendation is the best way to go.

20 Bucks very well spent!!!I hate vacuuming! It hurts my back and it's just an unfortunate necessary hassle. But with a house full of messy, fuzzy and feathered pets it's a very regular must! I was planning to get one of those roombas hoping to save me on the frequency of the chore but hearing reports that they break down didn't seem to make my problems any easier. My husband saw a swivel sweeper on TV but I feared it might be another "made in china" electronic susceptible to breakdowns. Remembering those little carpet sweepers from school days I thought this might be a good idea to keep up with the animals. It's a simple minute to assemble, and a few sweeps over floor or carpet and you can see the floor...no crumbs, no fluff, just carpeting. I was really surprised when I went to empty out the canister, another simple task, to find that there was more pet hair and other crumbs and dust than I thought was on the carpet, cool! The bottom line: it's fast, effective, lightweight, easy to maintain and easy to store. No it won't replace your vacuum or get deep into the corners but it's a real help in keeping things neat, and a welcomed time saver. It has paid for itself in saving vacuum cleaner bags and electricity in no time, but I am especially glad for it having spared my back. A great gadget for household with pets and toddlers.

Feels Like A RipoffWithin the first year, my Sage Roomba quit working. After replacing the charger, I-Robot sent me a new unit. Within 6 months, it started doing the same thing as the first one. They said the replacement unit (which, by the way, I used less than 5 times) was only guaranteed for 3 months, and I can pay $99 for a replacement. If I've had two units with exactly the same problem, it seems they would be seriously concerned. Who in their right mind would fork over another $99? All I can do is warn others.
Seriously Disappointed

Impossible to get repairsIt works for about a year (my parents, and a friend also got ripped off,) and then something breaks that cannot be repaired. (They have no service centers.) If you contact customer service, they'll offer you a trade-in on a reconditioned one for about $95.00 plus shipping.
Not worth it.

Great for 4 months, still withholding final judgementI got mine as a Christmas gift, and as my boyfriend's dog sheds COPIOUS amounts of hair it was definitely a needed thing around the house. We ran it every day, sometimes twice a day for 4 months without ever having an issue. We went through filters a little faster but I don't mind that so much (2 filters in 5 months) We did have to discharge and recharge the battery once in the first 6 weeks, then it was fine again.
It picked up wonderfully, and as my place is only 1100 square feet, always got the entire place before the battery ran out. My floors were amazing. You have to vacuum ocasionally to get corners and behind the couch, since the roomba can't always get everywhere, but it saves me so much time and endlessly amuses me.
Last week we had to send it in because it stopped sucking things in as effectively. It still worked, but for the price, it should work perfectly. I emailed and then called Customer Service, and both times receieved prompt curteous service. I sent the unit in for replacement, and am waiting for it now. If we get it back in the estimated timeframe (10 days) and it works like it did, I will still be thrilled with it. I'll be sure to post if I have a bad experience but so far, I love it.
I think my one complaint is the musical keys for everything that goes wrong. If they put in technology to play a different song for every thing that could go wrong, why doesn't it just SAY "Out of battery", "I'm stuck". Not a big deal, just an observation.
