Carpet Cleaners Review DOES NOT SUCK, and it should!
This is the worst vacuum I have ever used, nevermind owned. No dirt, hair, dust, or anything has ever made it into the canister. I owned a Dirt Devil before and it worked wonderfully, so I thought this one would too. My dustbuster has ten times more suction than this waste of space.

Carpet Cleaners Review No Suction....Whats the point vacuuming?
I have owned my Dirt Devil Vision for 2 years. As of just recently I have had nothing but problems with this machine! Just today the suction hose which wraps completely around the unit decided it had enough of my crap! Figuratively! Now with alot of animals and 3 kids making constant messes I no longer have a vacuum! I have encountered the same dilemmas with it as the others who have written reviews (the messy canister, the vacuum tipping over and 3 belts breaking). For the price of this vacuum it should be able to at least do what they say its capable of doing!

Carpet Cleaners Review Not worth the money
I got this vacuum 2 years ago and I don't like using it. It is very hard to push. The swivel guide is more of a pain than helpful. To empty it you need to go outside so you can bang the filter that is in the center of all the dirt, which then gets all over. (very messy) It is also heavy. This vacuum does do a great job of getting the dirt. ( execpt along the edges you have to use the hose for that)

Carpet Cleaners Review Great until the filter gets dirty, then forget it!
Please notice that all of the positive reviews (mostly) are for new owners. The biggest problem with this vacuum is in the filter design.
The directions for cleaning the filter is to remove the filter and bang it against the ground or the side of the trash can. This leaves you bringing dust and grime back into your home. The filter is right in the middle of all of the dirt you just vacuumed up. Okay, so maybe, I thought, take the filter outside to clean. There better be NO WIND> I wound up one time covered in dust. I looked for the replacement filter and found it to be so expensive, I might as well dump this machine when the filter no longer works. There have GOT to be better models out there! I plan to find out!

Carpet Cleaners Review Do Not Waste Your Money on this DOG!!!!
This is my first and last Dirt Devil. I bought one of these 2 years ago, believing it was one of the best out there (thanks to Dirt Devil's superior advertising folks!). Well it has fallen apart rather nicely since then. The handle has broken off. The part that holds it in the upright position is now broken. The suction is terrible. The filters cost alot of $$$ and are hard to find. And, last but not least, all the rubber hosing that connects the motor fan to the base unit has cracked, making this a virtually worthless machine in only 2 years. Better Luck Next Time Dirt Devil!

Carpet Cleaners Review Not "for the dogs"
Pros: absolutely the best suction you can find...it will suck up EVERYTHING.
Cons: well see below...

If you have animals, do NOT buy this vac. I have had it over a year now and although it has great suction it is so hard to empty the canister that I think it isn't worth having. Also the design is poor. The filter should not be in with all the dirt and hair! Trying to clean that is a nightmare and as another reiewer said you can not get the hair and dirt off.It ends up being a smelly mess and now if I vacuum with it my house smells !! You are not supposed to clean the filters and replacements are like 30.00 and take 2 weeks to arrive. It is very hard to push and the caster wheels are more of a pain than a help. However, I must admit even though I have now replaced this vacuum it does have the BEST suction of any vacuum I have ever owned including my new Bissell lift off bagless.

Carpet Cleaners Review Regret
I bought my DeLonghi Steam Cleaner on August 9, 2005. I have to say that I am very disappointed with the overall quality of the machine. To me it seemed like the pressure of the steam was not nearly as strong as the Euro pro I previously owned. I used it a total of two times before the yellow button that clicks the attachments into place broke off the handle. After the holidays I sent the unit in to one of DeLonghi's authorized service repair shops. They have had my steamer for TWO months! When I called them in Feb. they told me that they were waiting for the part to come in, and that I shouldn't call them to follow-up on the status of the repair of my steamer. In other words, they will fix it when they can and don't bug them about it. I believe this is unacceptable. I paid a good sum of money for poor quality, poor customer service, and a great amount of frustration. I wouldn't recommend buying this steamer. I only with that I had listened to the negative reviews over the positive ones that I read on amazon. Save yourself the frustration of purchasing this steamer. Looking back, I didn't rate the Euro pro very high because it only lasted me two years. However, two years is better than two times of use. I am still waiting to get my steamer back! Maybe in another month or so it will be shipped back to me, hopefully in working order.

Carpet Cleaners Review Stick to professional models
Just about the time the return policy was about to expire, so did my machine. There are a series of yellow buttons that click into attachments as well as hold the wand to the hose.

One of the buttons popped out and was unable to be put back in its place.

Also, the above product description states the steam output temperature is 300 degrees. This is very untrue. Neither the manufacturer's website nor the product literature make this claim. Even units that cost $600 and up don't have steam output that hot. I would be curious to know where that misinformation originated.

My advice: Steam machines designed for home use are just more "jump on the bandwagon" products that originated from the success of another turkey of a product, the Steam Buggy. Because someone sold tons the of Steam Buggy, every company wants to get in on those $$$$. None of them can match the psi's or temperature output of a professional unit. Instead of buying one of these cheap machines, from now on, I'll be renting a Pro steam cleaner to use on an as-needed basis.

Carpet Cleaners Review great cleaner
I bought one of these about 8 years ago and it finally wore out so I bought another one - I can not do without it now - I do not need to buy floor cleaners any more and it gets floors and rugs really clean. Great item!!

Carpet Cleaners Review No suction!
Ok, it's cute, but I can't get good suction out of mine. I'm talking like CRUMBS. Let alone spider webs, etc. Maybe I have a lemon, but I'm not happy with it. Also the hose always comes unplugged! I'm going looking for a new handheld !

Carpet Cleaners Review Simply the Best
This incredible little hand vac truly does what it's supposed to do and more. I believe its simple design, rotating brush and large dirt carrying capacity, make it as powerful as a minature upright. I bought one in 1997 and it's still going strong. I just bought two more in case they discontinue this model. The real test I gave this vac was to vacuum white cat hair off a dark blue bedspread. It passed the test with a grade of A+. It's easy to use, not too noisy and very durable. How lucky can you get?

Carpet Cleaners Review Wonderful Product
This is the best hand vac you can get. It has more power & suction for picking up pet hair, etc. than any I have tried. You can't go wrong & the price is right.

Carpet Cleaners Review Worked great for the short time it worked!
I had this machine for 7 months. While I was using it the yellow button that holds the extension handle on popped off and that let the handle come apart and steam came up in my face and hit my arm. When that happened I threw it. That saved me. I was so disappointed. I had bought mine off of a respected person on ebay that sells everything Delonghi. I tried emailing him for information to send it for repair and never heard anything. Very disappointed!

Carpet Cleaners Review Should have bought this steam cleaner
I wish I had found a review like mine before ordering a vapor cleaner. I looked at this steam cleaner and others here at Amazon about 6 weeks ago but came across a review about vapor cleaners. In particular, a good review for Vapor Systems.I ended up ordering a Vapor 2000 from them. Huge mistake. I have since looked through these reviews and found the bad reviews for TPA Impex, Vac International, Business Solutions, Vapor Systems and others. I haven't received my vapor cleaner and will not recieve one because of Vac International but Vapor Systems won't refund my money. I couldn't and still can't get anyone there to address my questions, answer email or phone calls. I think it's run by one person. I don't know how they have stayed in business this long. One of the reviews I read called them incompetent, I'd say at the least. Cathy, Heather, Barb, and Mark were right on. I don't know but I wonder which of these companies Robert works for. Amazon has always been an outstanding place to shop, great prices, reliable service and shipping. If I ever get my money back from Vapor Systems I will buy this DeLonghi steam cleaner.

Carpet Cleaners Review Glad I bought it. Wish I had paid this price.
I bought mine almost 6 years ago from another company for over $350. I wouldn't have anything else but a steam machine for my floors now. I'm spoiled with this and am willing to put up with the few inconveniences to use it. Cleaning is quick and easy. The floor dries almost instantly after it is cleaned, due to the steam evaporating. No streaking, no rinsing, no buckets, no residues. I have learned that to do my large kitchen and two other tiled areas, I pour in 3 cups of water, wait about 5 minutes for it to get hot enough and then the rest goes very quickly. Once, I had to replace part of the handle and being without it, doing my floors the old fashioned way, was a great setback. If you have a really tough spot ( like crayon or something very sticky or dried on) just let the steam rest over the area for 10 to 15 seconds, then procede and it will come off without scrubing or bending over. When I do a large area, I change the cloth half way thru. I use towels. Once they are dirty, it's into the washer. What you must realize is: 1. You must first sweep or vacuum before you stream (I plug unit in to heat before I sweep) 2. Once the water is finished, you have to wait for it to cool down and release the pressure, before you can open it, either for storage or to refill. Make sure all water is out before storing. 3. Regarding storage, since the hose doesn't detach and it is on wheels, it needs room on a floor, like in a closet, between uses. I don't have that space on my main floor, so I keep it in the bathtub of the guest room bath with the shower curtain drawn, when no guests are around. I'm too lazy to take it downstairs, although it isn't very heavy. When I do have guests, I put it on the floor of the hall coat closet or down stairs. For storage, you should detatch the long handle. It becomes easier to store and is less likely to stress out the hose connection from the handle. The electric cord easily wraps around the tank and locks onto itself. You will need an area of about 18" cubed. 4. It worked well on windows to get the dirt off, but then I had to go over it by hand with vinegar water, to get into the tight corners or streaks. Sometimes the hose wasn't long enough to reach high windows outside. 5. I tried the grout attachment on light colored grout and it did a fair job, but I found that using a grout cleaner first(Zep from Home Depot or Lowes), rincing that off and then going over the whole floor with the Steam it Clean, really did the trick. Since it doens't get dirty water all over the floor each time you clean, the grout stays cleaner longer. The grout attachment is fine for small jobs. With my large kitchen and hallway, I would have had to replace attacments frequently. 6. Sure there are things that aren't perfect about it, but in general, it makes the floor cleaning process so much easier and quicker without water all over, rinsing or drying time. Glad I have mine!!!! At this price, it's a steal.!!
