Carpet Cleaners Review Its [bad]
I am amazed that this vacuum made it to market. It must have been pushed by the marketing dept and not the research dept. It works great for the first minute or two, until there is a inch or more of dirt against the 3x3 inch grill on the one side. All the air has to go thru the dirt in this one small area and the air flow goes to next to nothing and all suckion stops. If you want a bagless, get one with the grill vertcally between the two compartments. This gives a large enough space for the air to go thru and the wind action keeps the dirt from piling on the grill.

The little upright Dirt Devil has the same type of grill but it is just used for small clean ups so the dirt cup gets emptied often.

Carpet Cleaners Review An okay vacuum but Hoover is better
This vacuum works good for picking up animal hair but its lousy for picking up embedded dirt thats not seen. The Hoover Windtunnel is much more effective, even the hoover bagless without the windtunnel technology will out perform the Eureka whirlwind.

Carpet Cleaners Review This Vacuum SUCKS...In a good way!!!!!
Need a Vacuum buy this one.... simple enough!!!

Carpet Cleaners Review fantastic
I've had this vacuum for several months now and am still very pleased. I'm not one to get excited about housework or anything related, but this vacuum is fantastic. We have two large dogs and I have to say, the dust is down a bit and the carpets have lost that "dog smell".

I could not believe the amount of filth that came out of my carpets. I called people, I was like an info-mercial for this thing -- it really sucks up the dirt.

This vacuum is great on large carpeted areas. It works well on area rugs too, but watch the height settings, if it is too low it really puts the wear and tear on the rug edges. As stated in other reviews, the drawbacks are that you have to use the attachments if you really want to get carpet edges and corners. Also, it is not the best on bare floors and the floor setting switch is a bit hard to turn (I thought I was breaking it the first time I changed settings).
These drawbacks are minor in comparison to the amount of crud this thing gets out of my home. I don't even mind the frequency of emptying the container -- I am glad each time that all that stuff is no longer in my carpet ( you will be amazed!).
Last thing, if you do not like to actually touch dirt, I wouldn't recommend a bagless. There is contact with the dirt while cleaning the filters and emptying the container. However, if overall cleanliness is for you, then so is this vacuum. This vacuum picks up like no bag having vacuum ever could. I love it.

Carpet Cleaners Review This vacuum cleaner sucks.... and sucks.
I purchased this vacuum cleaner about half a year ago, and it is still working extremely well. I previously had another Eureka Whirlwind vacuum cleaner (some earlier model I purchased about 5 years ago); well, my previous model kept clogging, and clogging so I definitely needed something new. So, as you can imagine I was a little bit apprehensive about purchasing another Eureka; however, have no fear... this machine is awesome.

To be quite honest, I put a lot of credence in the reviews and opinions of other reviewers... and I think most everybody was dead-on right. This vacuum definitely has good sucking power. I think that a price you pay for this is the fact that the machine really wants to go... albeit it is not really 'that' difficult to handle. Weight wise, it is a little bit heavier than my previous vacuum (but realistically not that much more)... besides, with that weight you definitely get really good stability while vacuuming and utilizing the accessories.

The carpet/hard floor switch is an awesome shift when you need to do hard floors. I must admit, though, that this is not the best unit for getting edges. The accessories are easy to use. And most important, I've had absolutely no problems with the unit; someone wrote about a suction problem... they should probably check to ensure that they seated the canister properly.

Carpet Cleaners Review The best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned or used!
Before I purchased this vacuum cleaner, I looked up several on Amazon.com and read the reviews. I was most impressed with the reviews and ratings for this one and also the 4885 which has a couple more bells and whistles but is apparently the same model, otherwise.

I tried to find the 4880 locally, and no one had ever heard of it! I was told it was an "old model," things like that. Actually, according to the Eureka WEBsite, it's quite a new model. Anyway, I decided to purchase from Amazon.com so I ordered, and it came in just a very few days, faster than promised.

Well, everything the other reviewers have said is absolutely true! The first time I vacuumed my house, I got three cupfuls of dirt and pet hair; I had to empty the dirt cup and rinse out the filters three times! I didn't know whether to cheer or throw up! By the way, the dirt cup is large and both the cup and the two filters that are removable are easy to get out of the machine, rinse out, and put back in. Be sure to use your spray attachment on your sink to get all the dirt out, and also let all the pieces dry COMPLETELY before you put them back into the machine.

The Hepa filter is the third filter. It's not removable/rinsable, and should be replaced about twice a year according to directions. Not much gets clear through to the Hepa filter, though, because the two other filters precede it.

Here's another tip. Run the cord up through the looped handle before you plug it in. That will hold the cord up and out of the way better than you can achieve with most other vacuum cleaners. I figured that out myself; it's not in the instructions. By the way, the instructions are clear, simple, and well illustrated.

As others have said, the machine is heavy, but the rollers seem to pull it forward though it is technically not self-propelled. It is smooth and quiet to use. It does not have edge-clean so you will either have to use the attachments for that purpose or use your handvac which is what I do.

This is a VERY satisfying product to use, quite fun, actually. I was suspicious about what my last vacuum cleaner was leaving in my carpet, and now I KNOW!

After reading the many previous reviews, I was sure this was the vacuum cleaner I wanted, and now that I have used it for a few days, I know I was absolutely right. If you have pets or a woodstove as we do, two dogs and a cat, plus bringing wood in through the house, this vacuum cleaner is one you should consider very seriously. My husband was annoyed with me for wanting to replace our old vac, but he is believer, now.

Amazon.com reviews of products really help keep the buyer from making bad purchase mistakes. It's a wonderful service. Thank you, Amazon.com!

Carpet Cleaners Review Not worth the money
I've had the machine for about a year, and only use it once every 2 months on average. Machine worked well the first couple of times, then started to leak. Now it leaks so much I can't use it at all. The entire contents of the cleaning solution and water tank basically empty into the carpet and then you can't get is all back out. It's the first cleaner like this that I've ever bought and probably the last. I guess I'll just leave the carpet cleaning to the pros.

Carpet Cleaners Review very bad
The machine does a good job of cleaning, but leaks water everywhere. And within a few months parts began breaking off. It's about six months old now and practically useless.

Carpet Cleaners Review Great for households with pets...
Bought an Atlantis after going through two Bissell Proheats, and deciding that I was sick of driving 45 minutes away to pay a repair guy to fix my second ProHeat for the third time (roller kept breaking from pet hair). The key to the Atlantis is the ease of cleaning pet hair out and the way that the brush moves side to side (rather than rolling like a vaccum, which the Proheat does). The front plastic comes off and you can clean out the entire area that sucks the water. We have 5 dogs and 3 cats, so this was a critical feature for us.

I will agree with a previous complaint someone made about the Atlantis leaking, this is very true. You have to empty all water and shampoo before storing and moving it. This is a minor inconvience, but a pain nevertheless. I'll still give 5 stars based on the fact that it is so light and easy to use, and most importantly reliable. We've used ours for almost a year.

No machine we've tried has sucked up all the water, but I would consider this one the same if not better than the Bissell in this respect.

Overall, the best investment we've made to keep our carpets clean!

Carpet Cleaners Review I would say this machine sucks--
But that is the problem it doesn't, it only extracted 1/2 containerful of the 2 1/2 containers I used to clean the living room. Carpet wasn't just damp it was soaked took forever to dry. Can't recommend this Eureka product.

Carpet Cleaners Review Reading is Fundamental
YOU have got to read the instruction manual for this machine. After pushing the soap button you must go over that area for or 5 times for the water to be removed. The repeated back and forth also helps to clean the carpet. Also stay focused and empty the "dirty" tank as soon as the "clean" tank is empty.
It will take 2 hours to do a 10x13 room. But it is well worth it. I am so glad I didnt call Stanley Steamer. This 130 dollar machine saved me 75 bucks on the first use.

Carpet Cleaners Review Carpet Vet
We have had dogs for years and this is our 4th scrubber. We are hard on them. This one cleans better than any other I've had. It's ease of use is a dream. I find I empty and fill more often, but the results are nice. Often the rugs is dry within a few hours. It has power. If you make a "dry run" after you scrub an area as in the manual, I don't see how the carpet would stay wet. The carpets in our home look and smell great.

Carpet Cleaners Review Great for some uses
I am a mother of four children and needless to say, I appreaciate any cleaning help I can get. For some things the steamer cleans better than traditional methods. For instance, it is great around sink handles, basins, grout, etc. It does an excellent job of cleaning counters quickly. I don't feel it does a very good job of cleaning the floor, but then I clean mine on my hands and knees. I did not find that it steamed wrinkles out of clothing very well. Nor did it do diddly to clean my upholstery.

Now that I am moving into a new home, I will probably not use it as it uses so much pressure I feel it will ruin protective sealants on the grout and so forth.

I have no complaints with lack of steam. I find the water lasts long enough to clean the kitchen and all four bathrooms without running out. The water heats up in about 15 minutes and I have never run out of pressure while using it.

One gripe, that seems trivial, but gets annoying after a while is the cord. Why couldn't Eureka provide some sort of cord storage for the item?

Overall, it does a great job of cleaning some items, but I probably wouldn't spend the money on it again.

Carpet Cleaners Review Couldn't be happier
Just used my Enviro Steamer for the first time and couldn't be more pleased. It was nice to finally find a product that lives up to the manufactor's claims. Easy to use and had enough steam to complete the job and still some left over. I tried the Shark steam cleaner but got tired of having to refill it every six or seven minutes. With the Enviro I only have to refill about every twenty-five sometimes longer. The only negitive I found was that it is somewhat awkard to drain the tank. A drain valve on the bottom of the tank would make it much easier but other than that I highly recommend this product.

Carpet Cleaners Review The Best Cleaning and Sanitizer Device Ever!!
I am a housewife and mom of four, and if I can get help out with the daily grind of cleaning and other chores it is a blessing.. This machine does just that for me! I just got through cleaning the refridgerator handles that are white, in which I have tried everything I could think of to get them white! I had tried Clorox and a scrubber, and that didn't even get everything off.. This time I squirted a little Clorox clean up, and then put the little scrub brush on the end of the steamer, and boy did it come clean this time! And now I know it is sanitary as well. I have used the steam mop, and it works well on the floors and IT IS better than just a regular mop for the reviewer that said it wasn't- a regular mop doesn't even compare because believe me, I have used many different mops in my 36 years! It lifts grime up,etc., that a mop would never get because it is straight hot steam going directly to the floor- when hot water hits the air on a rag or whatever, it immediately starts to cool off, thus becomes useless and germs galore- gets the floors sooo clean, I mean like new with no film or streaks.. This is straight hot steam blown to where you want it- and for those who say it blows water out, I know that when it condensates after not using it for a while, you are supposed to just blow the excess water off into a cup or something, and then it will begin to blow steam again.. It says it repeatedly in the directions.. You can have continuous steam or not- it comes with so many different attatchments for all kinds of jobs, and it is just all around a handy tool to have for indoors and out, I think..Anyway, if you need a do it all type of steam machine, this is the one to buy.

Carpet Cleaners Review Power getter
This is a great little machine and it is a go getter. It is light and easy to move around. I have a bad back and I can handle this machine. It cleans my light colored rug like a champ. I have a black lab and it sucks up her hair from everything. The only problem is that I can't find Bags or belts for it. Even the store I bought it at don't have them.

Carpet Cleaners Review So disappointed
I live and die by the Amazon.com reviews and this one seemed to be a great deal. We got the vacuum a few months ago and it has been a huge headache ever since. First of all I have to disagree with the suction power that others have been bragging about. We have Berber carpeting and the vacuum is unable to suck up the little crumbs and dirt on the lower levels of the berber. I have to sweep over and over in the same area to get it to pick up everything that is visible on the carpet. Also, the biggest pain is the 'expandable hose' for cleaning tile/wood floors. The hose is all of two feet long and constantly pulls the vacuum over as you use it b/c it isn't long enough. We had to order an additional 15' hose from Eureka to make that feature functional, what a pain. Just last week I ran over my first kids sock while i was vacuuming and the belt broke before I could even (quickly) turn the power off. It took all of 10 seconds for the belt to break. It has been extremely maddening and I'm planning on contacting the company to complain. Eureka is suppose to be a great product, but i can't recommend this one...keep looking!

Carpet Cleaners Review poor motor
A vacuum always works well when its brand new. Once time goes by however you start to notice things. After a year the motor on mine got really loud almost to a scream. I had to replace it at a cost of over $100 cdn. Suction is good and the true HEPA filter is the best on these vacuums. It is where is should be on the exaust where all the air passes through back into your home.

Carpet Cleaners Review THIS REALLY SUCKS!
I just moved in to a apartment with carpeting (arrgg) and had the carpets cleaned twice to remove dog hair! and I thought I was free of dog hair, till my Eureka came in this thing sucked up stuff that I never knew was in my carpet!

Considering that the carpet was done professionally TWICE before I got the Vacum and it still sucked up a ton of stuff! THIS ROCKS!

One thing: It is kinda big!

But worth it!

TEN Stars if I could!
