Carpet Cleaners Review You get what you pay for...
When I first bought this vacuum, it worked pretty well, especially on hardwood and linoleum. On carpet, it did not pick up dog hair or fuzz but did seem to suck up dirt and other particles. As time wore on, however, this vacuum's suction power began to disappear. Now when I vacuum, I have to use the attachments (which actually work great) in order to pick up anything, even on hard surfaces. Last week, the handle broke in half, so I am now on the market for a new vacuum. While this vacuum is inexpensive, lightweight, and effective at first, don't count on using it for longer than 2 years.

Carpet Cleaners Review Perfect for small spaces and hard floors
I took my Quick Broom with me to college. Graduation is next week and I'm still using my Quick Broom. It's lightweight and stores away easily in my limited student-dwellings. The brush does need frequent cleaning, especially if you have long hair (which I do). Overall, it's great for quick cleanups and best for hard floors.

Carpet Cleaners Review Nice Unit
Had bought the shark cordless for $79 and it turned out to be worthless. Any small string would clog the mechanism, it would only hold a charge at high speed for about 10 minutes, and any time you went off the carpet and back on, it would get jammed and you had to stop. also, tech support from shark was worthless. relegated it to the basement and bought this hoover unit. It is more powerful than most electric brooms and does a good job. the cord is adequate in length for most jobs and the dust cup is easily removed and cleaned. It does a decent job on rugs and bare floors (of course, don't use it solely as your rug cleaner). The only drawback i see is that it has a nice hose that attaches to the cleaner for those hard spots, but the nose is not very long, so you have to take the cleaner and get it near the area you want to use the hose on. Can get rather
awkward. for this reason, gave it a 4 rather than a 5.

Carpet Cleaners Review Great for barefloors
I bought this for my tile floors only. I wouldn't recommend this if you are going to use it mainly on your carpet since it doesn't work as good as a regular vacuum. Great for kitchens & baths. It does pick thing up on your carpet, but I not too good for dog hair. Good when you want to vacuum up any crumbs under the table after your child is done eating. It's pretty lightweight & easy to assemble. I have a dog & it sucks up all his hair on the tile. I like the size & the higher power (12 amps) than the other ones I've read. The head doesn't swivel, but I like that it comes with a hose (look like it's attached, but just rests in the back of quik broom) for crevices & places the head can't reach. Only downside is that you have to stop & plug the hose into the back park of the broom, it's not already plugged in like I thought. Other then that, I really like it & would reccomend this to anyone that is looking to get rid of the old broom & dust pan. Great for someone that wants to use it for tile/hardwood floors mainly & only small areas for carpet.

Carpet Cleaners Review Horrible vacuum
This vaccuum cleaner is horrible. The hose pulls out of the canister, the cord will no longer retract (after just one year!) The suction is disappointing. I have to say I will never buy another Hoover.

Carpet Cleaners Review Completely Dead After One Year
Worked fine for 1 year. Now it won't power up. Checked hoses, bag, cord, not sure what else to do...

Carpet Cleaners Review Excellent vacuum
I have had the Hoover Powermax Deluxe Canister vacuum S3607 since October 30, 2002. This vacuum is wonderful. I am a college student and bought this for my fraternity house after past experience of similar models that I use at my parents house. They are Hoover TurboPower 5000- S3577, Hoover Powermax S3603-040, and Hoover Powermax Runabout S3614. This vacuum is extremely easy to use, quiet, has good filtration, made well, and most importantly the cleaning power is superb!! I buy vacuums according to cleaning performance then I look for features- this vacuum is the best I've used and seen. I have used many different vacuum models over the years from different brands. I have used commercial vacuums from different work places in restaurants and have had a house cleaning job that I do on the side. The machine is very lightweight, has a low profile power nozzle that fits under beds, bureaus, desks, chairs and most any furniture with a 3 inch clearance. The double brush agitator is very powerful; it does an excellent job of grabbing deep down dirt for the suction to grab, grabbing pet hair and leaves carpets very well groomed.
I love the attachments- it is better to use the wall/floor brush on large areas of flooring rather than the carpet head due to the special design made for floors. If you decide to use the carpet head on floors you should unplug it from the hose so it is only suction on the floors and not a rotating brush. With any vacuum I found it is better to use straight suction on a floor and not a rotating brush. The agitators are made strictly for deep down cleaning of carpets not on hardwood or tile floors. The upholstery nozzle is phenomenal, the rubber fingers cause static on the rug causing deep down dirt to pull up better and grabs hair faster. It is very rare to see this technology on other vacuums most manufacturers use plastic or bristles on upholstery attachments.
I have noticed in other reviews of this product that people have had problems with cracked bag compartment doors. I have not had this problem with any of the four machines of this type that I have used. My recommendation is make sure the bag is installed CORRECTLY. Hoover makes many of the parts for this machine with a break-away feature- if the part is pushed back too far, it will come off. You have to make sure that you realign the hinges on both sides and push it back it in, you will hear it click into place. The bag slides into a bag holder make sure that is correctly notched into place, the bag collar is pushed forward all of the way onto the holder and all parts of the bag are below the seal where the door will shut. Also there is no need to firmly open, push, or slam any parts back into place. All of the locks open easilly and shut easilly, no hard touch is needed. I have used other vacuums that need parts practically slammed into place; not the case on the Hoover Powermax Deluxe.
I bought this vacuum as an addition to my roommates Hoover Caddyvac upright. Although the Caddyvac did a decent job, my dust allergies were still bad and needed a more powerful vacuum, that could also get into more places. The S3607 accomplished and surpassed my expectations for these tasks, and whenever my allergies perk up, I run my Powermax and it is a life saver. Also for time, it takes me 5 seconds or less to switch from vacuuming my rugs to having a dust brush on for dusting the back of my TV (an example)
2 comlaints:
1. The wheels on the machine are cheaply designed and made- the rear canister wheels have very little traction on hard surfaces, they tend to skid rather than roll because there is no rubber coating on them. The rear powernozzle wheels have axles that over time may get warped, the wheel(s) may have to pushed back on the axle.
2. The bag check indicator due to Hoover's strong suction is not very reliable- some work some do not. It is better to just open the door every so often and check the bag yourself. If it feels 2/3 full or you have vacuumed up very fine material like powder or fine dust the bag should be replaced to maintain full power.

Vacuum tip:
To maintain cleaning power of any vacuum it should be checked periodically. The agitator should be free of all strings, carpet threads, hair or anything else that may tangle around it. Bag should be checked every few uses, although the bag holds 5 quarts the power of this machine picks up a lot of dirt very quickly, this thing finds dirt that other vacuums I have used do not. The belt and power head should be checked atleast once a year, even if belt is not broken, it may be stretched, also dirt may get trapped in different areas, that should be cleaned out. Both filters should be washed or replaced every few months-dependant on usage. They are about $1.00 for the post motor filter and $.25 for the micro filter and are available from an authorized Hoover service shop.
Good luck with your Hoover Powermax I have no doubt you will love yours as much as I love my 4. Our oldest Powermax was bought on September 26, 1997, not one has had to go to the shop yet. I recommend it to anyone. I have mainly rugs and rarely use it on hard floors because I love to use a canister compared to an upright anyday.

Carpet Cleaners Review not a good buy vacuum is very cheep and has flaw design
Found that vacuum was very cheep , had very poor suction and had a flaw design ,it leaks suction out through the lid and there is not all that much to begin with. Did not like vacuum at all. Infact I sent it back and choose another vacuum.

Carpet Cleaners Review Vacuum not worth the price
The Hoover S3510 is one of the worst purchases I have made in years. Although it is inexpensive compared to some other vacuums, it is still a waste of money. It has almost no suction power at all. It barely cleans bare floors, and does not work on rugs at all. It has cheap cheap cheap plastic parts. The chord holder is stupidly designed, and hardly holds the wound-up chord in place. The only thing good about this vacuum is that it is relatively quiet

Carpet Cleaners Review Great for the price!
I decided on this vacuum because of the price, and for its features- I am not disappointed!
The suction power is amazing, and it can be adjusted as needed. The vacuum is pretty quiet, and very easy to move around.
The hose is flexible and easy to manuever around furniture and on the stairs, and I like the "feel", or "weight" of it- very comfortable.
My husband was surprised and impressed with the quality-especially considering the price.
We were using an upright before, but this is so much nicer to use, and does a better job for our needs.

Carpet Cleaners Review Works great... showing its age.
I've had this vacuum for the past 3 1/2 years, and it has workd without any issues (just one belt change needed). It's light weight... great for taking up and down stairs. But in the past few months, noticed that it only performs well when a new bag is inserted... subsequent cleanings just don't have enough suction. The hose is a little short for many jobs, but has lots of suction.

Carpet Cleaners Review Good low end vacuum
The Hoover soft & light does a good job on carpets, very good on bare floors, its light, and affordable, however its a bit noisy, it needs a longer power cord, could use another extension tube, the hose isn't conected at the power base, and although its very clean to change the bag its hard to get to. I whould recommend this vacuum if your looking for an affordable, good cleaning vacuum. :-)

Carpet Cleaners Review HOOVER SOFT AND LIGHT VACUUM
Excellent machine, perfect for my use. Had the more expensive upright Hoover, bagless with HEPA filtration etc, PowerMax, but like this one alot better. Don't have to clean 3 filters and empty cup. Just have to throw the bag out! Great convenience. Great suction even with tools which I WILL use! HAVE LONG HAIRED DOGS! Very easy to assemble, Excellent fast shipping via Amazon. This was my first Amazon purchase! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO PPL WANTING SOMETHING SIMPLE THAT WORKS GREAT!

Carpet Cleaners Review What a piece of JUNK!
I bought this item thinking i would be able to clean grease and mildew with much more ease. The first time I tried to clean my tea kettle, which gets greasy from sitting on the stove, the steamer did NOTHING. Same with the grease on my stove-top. Then I pre-treated the area with a concentrated cleaner, Simple Green, for about 15 mintues and went back at the grease areas with the steamer. NOTHING. Same story in the bathroom. I couldn't even remove surface mildew and soap scum from the shower...mildew/soap scum that would easily be scrubbed off with a little bit of cleanser and a scrub-pad.

I am totally bummed since I was hoping to cut down on the amount of elbow grease and chemicals needed for cleaning my house.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK. I spent $60 on it a month ago and now it's going for $50. :|

Carpet Cleaners Review Works fine as a steam cleaner but not that great as a mop
I have used this steam mop cleaner on my floor several times now. Granted it does a good job but the sponge obviously gets dirty quickly and there seems to be no way to replace it. It worked well on my carpet for cleaning some yogurt my daughter had dropped several days earlier and also curry. I think it is a bit expensive for the work it does. I wish it had a wider path so I wouldn't have to spend ages cleaning the floor. Also extra sponges and where to get them would be good. Hoover.com doesn't seem to have any advice. It would be nice if Hoover would make a cheaper version of the spinbrush but this is the poor man's solution really.

It is non-toxic and with kids around and several allergies, that's great.

I've given it 3 stars because it wants to be a jack of all trades and doesn't quite acomplish it.

Carpet Cleaners Review Very good value
I needed to get my condo ready for sale and this steamer did a a great job of cleaning a decade's worth of grease and dirt in the bathroom and kitchen. There were spots that I could never get really clean with cleansers that came out great with this steamer. Another review noted that it never really got hot, but that wasn't my experience. A few inches from the nozzle it wasn't very hot (which I consider a good safety feature) but when you held the nozzle within an inch or so, it was hot enough to clean just about anything.

It's not perfect. There were some issues with the angles you have to hold the steamer to get it to work right, but they weren't that bad. Overall, I think it performed very well and compared to other steamers I looked at, this one wasn't very expensive.

Carpet Cleaners Review This Vacuum is horrible
There is little to no power on this vacuum cleaner. It barely picks up holiday tinsel.

Carpet Cleaners Review Only one major problem
Very nice, easy to use machine. It does have one major problem - there is no provision to store the cord - there is no hook to wrap the cord on so you end up with 20' of cord with no place to put it.
