I have been debating on getting this for some time now, but I finally broke down and spent the money on something that was well deserved. I thought I had the best canister vacuum out there. I vacuum everyday due to our large dog in the house, but I have to keep cleaning the filter or i'll lose suction. Before trying the vacuum out, I used my older canister vacuum which suctioned up a ton of hair and dust before using the new dyson. To my surprise, the dyson had a canister of dirt and dog hair and when I went back over the floor a second time the dyson had picked it all up the first time. The ball makes it so much easier and the animal model has some attachments that are needed for pets that the other models don't have. I absolutely love it and reccomend it to all!

This is a lot of money for a vacuum. I thought I'd humor my wife by getting it even though I thought she was nuts. I have to say I'm impressed though. It does quite well on carpet and hard floors. The ball does make it more maneuverable than the averadge vacuum also. The bagless design makes emptying easy too. I you can afford to spend $599 on a vacuum, this is a good choice.

This unit consists of three working parts:
1. A sprayer which consists of a reservoir to put the cleaning solution and a trigger that you manually push over and over to spray the solution. It works exactly the same as a spray bottle, except unlike a spray bottle it's heavier and more cumbersome to use due to the fact that it's attached to a scrubber/vacuum.
2. The scrubber, which is a round scrub brush that rotates pitifully slowly, and is actually harder and more awkward to use than a regular manual scrub brush because it's attached to a heavy handheld vacuum and it's near impossible to get it into tight spots.
3. The vacuum. It's o.k. as a handheld wet/dry vacuum. Any wet/dry shop vac will have greater suction than this though, so if you already have a wet/dry shop vac, then there's no point to it at all.
My recommendation is to use a spray bottle, a vegetable brush, and a wet/dry shop vac. It will be easier to use, more versatile, you will get better results, and you can use the shop vac for other cleaning as well.

well...I purchased this couple years ago for doggie pee pee "accidents" Used it few times. Had no problem with operation or suction. It sucked up the fresh urine accidents great. no problem with sprayer or brush. The BIG problem was it sprayed the dirty reservoir tank contents out through the side motor vents and onto my bare legs or pants. PHEEEW and DISGUSTING. I called the Dirtdevil people and they told me that if you tilted it too much it causes the contents to spray out. Yes the had this answer on their computer so they were aware of it. I tilted it so I could put more pressure for the suction. So I moved and no longer had carpet thus put machine away. Well I just moved and have all carpet. My MinPin and 15 year old lhasa are having a few accidents so I whipped out the spotscrubber. It is back to spraying urine out through sides. Called Dirtdevil people who asked if I was filling properly...did you screw cap on dirty reservoir...duh.same answer was not to tilt. Guess what???I AM NOT TILTING. 1st rep said to bring to repair center...like I will spend 50 bucks to repair a machine that is not broken but has poor design. So I requested corporate who said EVERYBODY LOVES THEIR MACHINE AND SINCE IT WAS MADE IN 2002 IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT BEING NICE THEY WOULD FIX OR REPLACE IT IF I SENT IT BACK WITH PREPAID POSTAGE. I think I will decline the offer. It has a poor design and they have no intention of changing it.........In summary I agree with other reviewers such as emufan01 and Ebranscomb who were "sprayed"...... Any suggestions for another machine for those pet pee pee accidents?....thanks

This is a wonderful machine. I have 3 cats who believe in sharing fur balls. This cleans the spots right up. I also have a husband who likes to eat in the living room, and I don't have to point out his "spot". We just rented a big machine to do all the carpets a month ago, and in a few weeks you wouldn't know we had done them by the couch. Well this little machine made quick work of the problem area. This is my sister-in-law's machine. I guess I'll have to buy a new one for her now!

I ordered this carpet cleaner because a friend of mine has one and she raved about it. The first time I used it I could see why she had been so happy. Lighter than my vacuum cleaner, but still does an amazing job of pulling the dirt up. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it does require frequent water fills/emptying. Has small fresh water and collection containers. But I'm sure if they were any larger, it would weigh the machine down as well. I do use it often because it's so light and easy to take out so maybe the small containers are done for a reason. It's also a breeze to clean, unlike some of the larger models. Just rinse it out and put it back together! Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

The upright deep cleaner is lightweight, so very easy to use and excellent at cleaning my carpets. It is for those very reasons I find that I am using it more often than I ever thought that I would. I absolutely love it!

This was a gift for my daughter and she loves it. Easy to use, light weight and does a great job cleaning.

I have had the sweeper for about 4-5 months. I use the sweeper for picking up bedding (Carefresh) for my guinea pig and his little poos under the futon. I also use it for little scraps that fall on the floor. It does it job and cleans on the surface but obviously will not replace a vacuum as it does not have suction.

QUALITY - 4 STARS: Sturdy except for the handle, the handle is put together by three pieces that you twist together. The brushes are made of thick nylon so they don't rip out easily.

EASE - 4 STARS: Great, since there's no electricity involved, there's no cords to deal with. It's better used for carpet. I do use it on my tile kitchen floor but sounds like it's scraping it and possibly scratching the floor. It does work on bare floors.
The twin dust pans are great because you can roll the sweeper in both directions and the dust will fall in either pan.

CLEANING - 2 STARS: It picks up hair great but gets caught in the rolling brush. There's a detachable comb to use to pick out the hair but I just use my fingers, it's much faster because I can break the hairs loose but a bit gross. I don't mind getting dirty.

EDGE-CLEANING - 0 STARS: You cannot clean the edges with this thing. You'll have to pull out the vacuum. Since the main brush is in the middle, there's a lot of slack that the brush is not picking up dust.

DURABILITY - 4 STARS: This product will probably last for at least 5 years. Maybe by then, they will have another fantastic product for me.


***PRECAUTION*** Don't be fooled for the five brush system, the four edge-cleaning brushes are worthless. The four edge-brushes do not help in cleaning corners. You should probably INVEST in a DUAL BRUSH system, I wish I would have but I thought the edge cleaning brushes would be better, no no no no no.

OVERALL, THE SWEEPER DOES ITS JOB but I would not buy this specific product again. Next time, I will spend a few extra dollars more in a dual brush sweeper. I believe that the dual brush sweeper will cover more area than a single brush sweeper.

I bought this sweeper to sweep my basement carpet, which is dark in color and shows every bit of fuzz. It does a reasonable job cleaning, transforming my carpet from "Does she ever vacuum?" to "Oh, she must have vacuumed yesterday". It doesn't get all the fuzz and crumbs, but it does what I'd expect from a sweeper. It is also much lighter than my vacuum, so I'm much more likely to use it.

My three-year-old daughter enjoys using it too. She insists on sweeping her own room (I won't complain).

The main thing I've learned is that, because the handle slides together, it will not consistently support the weight of the sweeper head. This means that if you pick it up or suspend it by the top of the handle, the sweeper will probably fall off, so pick it up near the sweeper. (It stays together fine when actually sweeping.)

We are a group of 5 night shift nurses that love this sweeper. It did a great job cleaning up our nurses station. We used this product in many ways testing it to see how well it really did work. It picked up not only popcorn, but the kernels too.It also picks up paper hole punch messes, and scraps of paper in no time. it is light weight enough for anyone to use and stores well.We had an older sweeper that took alot of time to use and still left a mess behind. Now it is nice to pull the sweeper out and be done without a lot of bending over to pick up the pieces the sweeper missed. Its great and we recomend it to others, in fact most of us have bought it for our own homes.

For hardwood floors, it does a good job. On carpet it'll clean up light spills and it's convenient on stairs. For what it costs, and without the expectation that it will do the same as a "regular" vacuum cleaner, it serves its purpose well. To me, it's basically a Dustbuster with a motorized brush. I think the Dustbuster "Dirtbuster" vacuum is better and has a stronger vacuum, although the Dustbuster doesn't have the motorized head.

We got this to use in our 32 ft. motorhome. It does the job on the small carpet areas and gets in between the furniture easily with its small head. I use a small brush to remove the dust and fuzz from the catcher area when I empty it.
This doesn't take much storage space which was important to us.
Minor complaint: the catch that slides up and down to remove and replace the dust catching chamber is difficult to move.

These little vacuums are the greatest thing since sliced bread. For people like me who can no longer lift heavy things it is just ideal for doing my cleaning.' I am amazed at the pick-up power it has. I highly recommend it for anybody with sore shoulders and neck or sore legs and knees. It makes vacuuming so much easier and it is just as efficient as by big heavy Electrolux!!

We recently purchased this vacuum from Bed, Bath and Beyond. While we were a little uneasy about paying this kind of money a 20% coupon helped lower the cost to make it a little more reasonable. We have a shedding labrador and were amazed at the amount of hair that we picked up the first time that we vacuumed. The Dyson offers instant gratification in that you can see the dirt and hair going into the bin. It also offers a no-mess emptying that works at the touch of a buttom and emptys all of the dirt into the trash.

The various attachments work great and the vacuum works well on all floors. The pet hair tool is of great use on our cloth couch which is a magnet for our dog's hair.

We were torn between the regular animal model and the ball version but decided to go with the ball version since it has a much smaller head assembly and fits beneath chairs and cabinets easier. The ball makes vacuuming almost fun in that just a flip of the wrist allows you to steer it into all areas and make tight turns. We strongly recommend this model if you have pets in your home.

Without a doubt this is the best vacuum we've ever owned. It picks up much more that any other. It's also easy to move through tight spaces.

Exceptional quality and performance. Upon opening the box you can see the quality of the machine and with only a few minor assembly steps you are on your way. Even though I had just cleaned my house I had to "test drive" it's performance. I was amazed at the dust and hair it picked up! The new ball design made turning around furniture and getting into tight spots easy. Well worth the price tag.

The product I received was not very well "Reconditioned" It stopped working after one use.
I contacted Bissell. They are willing to replace the machine. However, I am told it will take 7-10 days to send me a shipping label, 7-10 for them to receive the machine and then 7-10 more to send me a replacement. I don't have the box the cleaner came in. I need to find a box and ship it back. At very least it will be 3-4 weeks before the cleaner is replaced. I know Amazon will make it right but the aggravation with Bissell compels me to reccomend against purchasing this item.

I don't think I'd buy reconditioned again. The pump belt broke the second time I used the machine. The belt was in pieces and some of it was stuck to the shaft. I made the mistake of tossing the box after my first use. The machine is heavy and I don't know how I'll take it to be serviced.

I received my Powersteamer last week and used it as soon as I assembled it which took maybe 2 minutes. It worked AWESOME! We have 2 boys & 2 dogs and thought that our beige rug was ruined in the high traffic areas. I only had to use the tough stain tool a few times and was not disappointed! I highly recommend this machine for anyone seeking a quality carpet cleaner. The reason for the missing star is that I had not received the TurboBrush, Scotchgard applicator or cartridge in my order. I notified Amazon and within 2 business days had a replacement machine. It was also missing those same items. Amazon.com has been wonderful in trying to rectify this situation for me in a timely manner.

I love this carpet machine because it does what I needed it to do. It cleaned my carpet's really good and it also cleaned the carpet and car seat's in my van they look like brand new.
