Carpet Cleaners Review It's a SCREAMER!
Is good on the wood floors. Not good on scatter rugs. Noise is outrageous. High pitched scream. Not good on human or cat ears.

Carpet Cleaners Review We love this!
I must say, all of us fight over who gets to use the vacuum. I know this sounds weird, but oh, the joy of seeing how much dust and dirt was collected! This has to be one of the best little vacs out there! We use this as our primary since we only have 5 rooms on both levels with carpeting. I DON'T like it for hardwoods. It just blows too much around. For hardwoods, I prefer Bono Swedish mops. For this price, I'll probably buy another for the lower level of our house! I don't mind the noise..it's not that bad. If you want to hear a screamer, buy the Hoover Bagless Quickbroom!
Also, this product could be amazing if it carried onboard tools!

Carpet Cleaners Review A great little cannister vac!
I got my Eureka Boss Superlite in August of last year, and I've used it at least weekly since (and sometimes more). It was cheap enought that I figured it was disposable if it quit working, and I had planned on getting something better around December anyway. Boy did this little thing surprise me - it really works great! Picks up cat hair, dust, everything. Very light, and not really all that noisy. It's quiet enough that my cat isn't afraid of it.

I really enjoy emptying the cannister and seeing how much stuff it sucks up! I've cleaned the filter a few times; it's very sturdy and I've found a boning knife works great for getting into the pleats to get dust out. I do have long hair, and I spend some time cutting it out from the brush, where it gets wound up instead of sucked up the pipe, but that would happen with any vacuum.

After so many years of suffering with the ultra heavy Kirbys and the like, this little vacuum has really been a relief, and it works great to boot. I would recommend it to anyone.

Carpet Cleaners Review Insufficient Steam Pressure but Cool Design
I just ordered this Ultra Steam Blaster from the manufacturer and did some testing of this model with the competing products from Saeco (the Piccolo) and SteamFast.

Overall, I like the design in terms of being able to hold most of the accessories on board. The quality of the accessories is first rate. The unit heats up in 6-7 minutes and produces consistent steam. For those new to steaming, it will be a revelation and you will wonder what you did without a steamer.

Since I have owned and tested 4 steamers in the past few years, including this model and two competitors in the "under $200" category, I can tell you that while I like the design and quality of accessories, (and the fact this unit uses a stainless steel tank) of this Shark product, it did not hold a candle to the Saeco in terms of raw cleaning power. See my amazon reviews of the Saeco piccolo for details.

I really wanted this unit to be better since I really did like the design the best. However the moldy hose test demonstrated that this steamer does not have the power to instantly blast mold off a moldy hose like the Piccolo. Since I owned a prior model from Delonghi, I can tell you, when you go to steam, the raw temperature and steam production power/pressure is what does the cleaning and the Shark Ultra Steam Blaster, while comparable to the other Chinese made steamer I tested, does not offer the performance of the Italian made Piccolo.

Carpet Cleaners Review Throw away the mop, bucket, and chemicals
I have had this machine for several months now and have not regretted making the purchase. My husband thought I bought it to periodically steam clean the tile and was surprised to find that this machine REPLACES the mop and bucket.

I do agree that the loudness can be a problem in closed in spaces (i.e. shower). Therefore, until I purchase earplugs, I will continue cleaning the shower the old fashioned way.

I use this machine to steam the tile, "dust" the window blinds and other items that have small crevices, clean grout between the tile, and clean the highchair. There are other uses we have yet to try.

We are pleased with the cleaning ability of this machine. It sure beats working with lukewarm/cold water. I feel things do get cleaner and there is no chemical residue afterward. Several hours later (unplugged) , the water in the tank is still very hot.

Bottom line: even if you get this machine to just steam your floors, I think it is worth it.

Carpet Cleaners Review WOW WOW WOW
I purchased this shark steam blaster last week since I had just bought a home. I wanted to clean my laminate wood floors with it and was hoping that I could jump onto the "no chemicals needed" bandwagon but I was not planning on expecting too much out of it. To my surprise, this thing is amazing. My floors had been professionally cleaned and yet when I finished with the shark cleaner, I was amazed at all of the black grime that came off of my floors. Since I was so impressed, I decided to try it out around the house and I can't tell you how impressed I have been with it. I thought the kitchen tile looked clean but I steamed the grout and I couldn't believe what color the grout actually was! It works exactly like in the commercial. I used it in my refrigerator - spotless. Bathrooms - spotless. Try it around your baseboards where they meet your floors and you'll be shocked to see what blasts out from under there. YUCK!
I feel so clean thanks to this machine and you will be amazed if you try it. Here's a tip though: order an extra floor towel because you won't be able to stop once you start and the towel will get dirty pretty fast. Also, instead of using a hand towel to wipe away the grime, I used paper towels so that I can dispose of the dirt instead of running it through my washer (especially for bathroom uses).
I would recommend this product to everyone. I would also like to disagree with the other reviewer who complained of the noisiness of this product. I did not find the steamer noisy at all and rather appreciated the fact that I could clean at 2 am and not worry about disturbing the neighbors.

Carpet Cleaners Review DOESN'T HOLD CHARGE
MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER LOVES THIS VACUUM THE ONLY PROBLE IT DOESN'T HOLD A CHARGE I CHARGE IT OVER NIGHT AND MAYBE LASTS 15 MIN CAN ANYONE HELP.....

Carpet Cleaners Review This is a great vacuum!
I bought this for my daughter as a christmas gift. She thinks it is just awesome. I can't get her to stop vacuuming ( it's not a bad thing). It is rechargable and the instructions states that you will have 12 mins of run time. The first initial uninterrupted charge will take 24 hours and every charge after that is 12 hours. She is very happy with her new vacuum and I would buy it all over again.

Carpet Cleaners Review Bissell Barbie Vac is a winner in my book
I purchased the Bissell Barbie vac for my 8 yr old daughter. She absolutley loves it. Every little piece of crumb or paper that hits the floor she gets out her vac and it picks right up. The first day she got it I couldn't believe all the dust and hair from our cat it had picked up because I had just vaccumed the day before. It even came already charged just long enough for my daughter to test it out, about 15 min. I would definitely buy another one, and it's so easy for her to turn on, by pulling the handle down to vaccum position, and then off, by pushing back up to standing position.

Carpet Cleaners Review Don't waste your time.
We've had this vacuum for less than a year and it has broken 3 times. The belt seems to be the problem. Sometimes the budget buy is not worth the frustration.

Carpet Cleaners Review Best Vacuum Ever
I have to say, I dont understand the complaints I'm seeing regarding this one. If you read the owners manual, it clearly states the maintainence involved. Now..the ones the broke on day 3? Bad Batch? Mine is almost a year old. I clean it regularly, changed the belt once, works PERFECTLY.

Carpet Cleaners Review what a buy, and a fabulous vacuum as well!
This vacuum was for my mom who, when her old canister vacuum broke down, thought you had to go to a vacuum store such as Kirby, etc to get something decent. When I found out she ended up paying over $300.00 for one such vacuume, (and she is a senior on a limited budget!), I told her to take it back, and I will help her find a good one for only a fraction of the cost. I did a lot of research on vacuum ratings, and found out this one has a high rating. When you weight the great price, ratings and the fact you get FREE shipping, it was a no-brainer! Well, mom loves it, says the suction is excellent, and is easy for her to assemble and use. She could not believe you get get such a good vacuum for such a low price, and has now entrusted me to order additional items as she needs them via the net. Mom gives this vac an A+

Carpet Cleaners Review Disappointed
Their claim is that the Dyson doesn't lose suction with use. If kept in top condition, clean and emptied then it might not lose suction. But if you allow the canister to fill up or the filter to get dirty then it definitely looses suction.

The beater brushes were never really effective. I have thick plush carpet, all one length, and I never got vacuum tracks with this vacuum. So I knew it wasn't really beating the carpet very effectively. They claim the height is auto adjusting but it doesn't seem to adjust at all and therefore is only effective on certain carpet heights.

The wand wore out early due to design errors. The hard part of the wand tube rubs against the flexible hose causing it to wear early and break. Each of the attachments broke early too.

I got about a years use out of this vacuum and threw it away. I bought a Bissell lift off upright to replace and it is already 100% better than the Dyson. In the first vacuuming with the Bissell I filled the dirt canister with dust and dog hair from my first floor alone, which shows the Dyson had been missing it all along. I now get vacuum tracks with the Bissell and my carpet looks 100% better

Carpet Cleaners Review Good Machine - but some weaknesses
We bought the Dyson in Dec. of 2002, and it gets used for approximately 1 hour x twice a week on carpet.

In the vacuum cleaner market which, in our opinion, is dominated by poor product design, plastic parts that break easily, motors that burn out, belts that stretch and break, expensive bags that fill up virtually instantly, and a very short useful life, our Dyson has acquitted itself rather well.

Many of the other favorable comments apply and will not be repeated here.

We would add that Dyson has good telephone customer service as well as an on-line diagnostic guide.

We note the following negatives:

- The "off the floor" hose suction is not as strong and is much more awkward than with a "tank type - non upright" cleaner. If you are doing mostly off the floor cleaning, probably no upright is recommended.

- While the parts that you can access are easy to remove for cleaning and "unclogging", there are some critical non user serviceable parts on the Dyson. Even the drive belt and hepa filters are supposed to be changed by a service center.

- There are very few designated service centers capable of fixing the Dyson. So keep the box in case you have to ship the machine back to the company and hope you never need to use it. I would guess that with parts and labor, a major repair could easily be between a quarter and half the price of a new machine.

- The hepa filter, which is supposed to last the lifetime of the machine, doesn't. But notwithstanding instructions, it can be removed and replaced by the user (special replacement filter must be purchased from the company or from a dealer). We found it necessary to replace the filter (ourselves) when the machine constantly cut off due to overheating.

- While it is NOT in the instructions, customer service will tell you that vacuuming up powder (plaster, carpet cleaner, carpet deodorant) will clog the hepa filter and eventually destroy the machine. If you plan to do this kind of work, get something with a disposable bag.

- Periodically, the regular filter and basket need to be washed. Not a big deal but it needs to be done.

- Periodically, the tank needs to be thoroughly washed by running water through it and letting it dry.

Notwithstanding the above, this is probably a better and more reliable machine than anything else available (which, as noted, says something about vacuum cleaners in general), so with reservations, we recommend it.

Carpet Cleaners Review Vacum cleaner that does the job
Product designed to meet user needs and convinience.Does outstanding job on the carpet and hardwood floors, but can't reach under limited hight spaces without taking the house out.Best product i ever have to vacuum hardwood stairs.Looks and works like new.
