Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Great Product for Dog Hair and Hardwoods
Very light, long cord, and plenty of power to pick up dog hair and other light items. This is not for someone who wants a full fledged vacuum. My only complaint is that it's made of cheap plastic and will most likely crack/break if dropped.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Eureka Stick Vacuum
I had an old Eureka electric broom similar to this one. It picked up better when it was about to "croak" than others I have purchased when they were brand new. It is also easier to empty than others I have tried. I have hardwood floors and this vacuum works great.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Love this vacuum!
I have two dogs and a cat and my house gets pretty hairy. This vacuum works better than the larger, more expensive ones I have used. I got it as a gift and just saw the price now. I cannot believe how cheap it is. I was thinking it was more expensive than the bigger ones because it is smaller and easier to use but works even better!

It's very cheap, works great, small, light and you don't have to spend money on vacuum bags.

I absolutely recommend this vacuum.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Nice Shampooer
Seems to do the job well.
Works great if you use this in conjunction
with a steamer, cleaner.
Really gets the job done!

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Floormax vs. Shale tile floor
Japannese Shale is a compressed layered floor tile of multicolors reds, yellows, browns and some black. it is laid in the same manner as Quarry tile joined at the edges with a light sand textured hydro type cement. It is a very attractive hard floor with a rough shale looking finish.

I purchased the Floormax specifically to cleaning this floor in that shale floors presents a problem and cannot be succesfully scrubbed with conventional methods. The Hoover Floormax does anan excellent cleaning through the brushes ability to ride over and into the crevises of the tile.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review good little floor cleaner
i have only used it on tile floors and it works great, i haven't tried it on carpet yet.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Bissell Flip It
I was very skeptical after reading several other reviews. Product works well in very small areas, such as bathrooms. When it comes to larger spaces (my house is all tile except for the bedrooms) it is easier to sweep or vacuum and then mop. The mop function on this unit is awkward for a large area and what you have vacuumed up (i.e. dog hair) gets wet and stuck in the suction area. I would only recommend this for very small or quick clean ups. A little disappointed, but I do use this at times for small area clean up.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Love it.
I looked at wood floor cleaners for several months and finally decided on this one. I chose the Flip-It for the price which was much lower and for the size. This unit if very light weight and easy to store and tote around. I felt like the larger cleaner would be too much trouble to drag in and out. I have wood floors in the kitchen, nook, and foyer and I can clean the entire area with one tank and still have a little left over. It's not any faster than mopping but it's much easier. My floors really clean and who wouldn't love that!

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Bissell 5200 Floor Cleaner
Product arrived on day promised. The cleaner was ordered by my mother, who is no longer physically able to keep her bare floors as clean as desired by other methods. She tells me that she is very satisfied with the product. It cleans the floor to her high standards with a minimum of time and labor.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review No reliability, No quality control
One Scooba lasted 3 months, then it lasted less and less time, until it was finally only running for 2 minutes. I exchanged it for a new one. The new one never worked, it never put water on the floor. The next day, I exchanged the second one for a third new one. It also never worked, it never put water onto the floor. My Scooba then turned into a refund! I'll wait for the second generation when this product might actually have some reliability, hopefully.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review It died after 2 months
I own 2 Roomba Schedulers and love them, so I was really interested in the Scooba. I love my Roombas so much that I gave my parents and my brother each one as presents. That being said....

Living in Florida I have a house that has 2400 sf of tile floors alone so the Scooba would be perfect. I really wanted to wait until the *second generation* to buy one, but the prices dropped from $399 to $299 at many retailers so we said - why wait??!!!

The Scooba is not as awesome as the Roombas but it initially did a pretty decent job on the floors. I have 2 incontinent dogs so it was a godsend. At any rate, after 2 months of using Scooba once every 2 weeks and fastidiously following the instructions, it started to only work for 30 seconds then stop and flash Service Code 1. The iRobot site was (very) unhelpful so I did a Google search and found that I was not the only one this had happened to. I back-flushed the vacuum system and found it had *eaten* a chunk of grout!!!! I don't know if this was the cause of death, but the vacuum part of the Scooba flat out is not working, and it fails diagnostic codes 11, 12 and 13.

I called iRobot and they told me to exchange it at BestBuy where it was purchased. I then called Best Buy and they said they weren't carrying it anymore. What does that tell you?

Beware...

Signed,
A dedicated ROOMBA (not Scooba) fan.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review iScooba, do you?
If you don't have this wonderful little machine, you are missing out. Lucy(what we have named our little Scooba Bot) cheerfully cleans our hard floors more often than this human would ever want to. What bliss to walk barefoot on completely clean floors after Lucy has done her job! My Scooba works well and really does clean thoroughly. One downside is that most times I do not get two complete cleanings out of the battery. The battery recharges fast so this is not such a giant problem. My kitchen/eating area is large and must be divided into two sections so that the floor gets evenly clean. Please note that the instructions say normal size room and large country kitchens are not "normal" apparently. All things considered though, this little machine sure saves my time while housecleaning. I do not know what I would do without my Scooba now.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Belts burning the casing
Loved this vacuum---at first!! The first couple weeks were great, then the belt slipped, the whole thing started smoking!! The belt burned through the inside casing and now won't stay in place. I've seen other reviews where this happened, so definitely nopt just my problem. I was very disappointed. Also the spinner brush stopes easily, as soon as you get any hair in it. Would not recommend at all.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Broke twice
The arm sprayer on this machine broke once, so I ordered a new part from the manufacturer. After only 3 uses, the new sprayer broke. I did not order another part, I'm going to try something else (haven't decided what yet). As for the cleaning, it would clean juice stains and other miscellaneous stains (I don't have pets) well, but they would reappear after a few days of cleaning.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Don't throw it out!
As others have stated - it works well when it works. I was really happy with the way it cleaned. I especially liked the turbo brush. But when I went to use it for only the second time the sprayer wouldn't work - a frequent complaint I understand. You don't have to be particularly handy to fix it. You need a screw driver, a pair of pliers and a paper clip. Unplug the machine. Take the four screws from the top out. Pull the top up. Underneath you will see a black box with 4 screws - undo. Underneath the cover is heater box. Lift up and undo the 5 screws on the bottom. You will see what is causing the problem. You don't need to disconnect the wires. Release the clamps holding the plastic tubes with the pliers and gently remove the tubes. Use the paper clip, opened, to clean out the holes in the heater. It did not take long at all.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review The Little That Finally Could
I purchased this as a replacement to an original little green machine.
The main selling points for this new Bissell were the pro heat feature, power rotating brush, easy removal and emptying of the fluid holders and an ergonomic design with cord wrap.

This new Bissell finally has enough amps to thoroughly clean and vacuums the stain you are removing.
At 9 amps, it is finally strong enough to remove almost all of the soap and wetness from the carpets lessening the air-drying time afterwards.
The unit can be a little noisy though; but how often do you clean stains anyway?

The down side of this unit is that the pro heat feature can turned on and off but not without the main power being on.
Simply put, you cannot preheat the water without having the cleaning power on as well and as I mentioned, it is a little noisy.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Don't make the same mistake I did.............
I've owned the original Hoover Floormate for several years, and it served me very well. When it finally broke, through no fault of it's own, I didn't hesitate to buy another one. At the time, about 1 year ago, the SpinScrub 800 was so new that the only way to buy it was through Sears online.
I waited with great anticipation for it to arrive. When it finally did, I immediately set out to clean not only the floors but the grout as well.
Within moments of turning it on, the receptacle tank would shut off. I called Hoover, and they said they'd send me a replacement. After a couple of weeks, I received a piece which I couldn't possible replace on my own. Hoover suggested taking it for service, the nearest place being about 30 minutes away.
Already this was starting to be ridiculous - a brand new unit which cost me about $279.00 and was unusable. Next, Hoover sent me a replacement tank, for the SpinScrub 500, though. By the time I started using the machine, the new receptable tank still shut off, but now I found that the machine completely lacked the suction needed to pick up any water on the floor.
Since I was obviously under warranty, I brought the unit into the Hoover service center, where they kept it for 2 weeks. The technician said " I certainly hope you didn't use this as a vacuum, because this will clog up almost immediately."
Well, I had never used it as a vacuum, but indeed it was clogged, and I was charged $50.00 to fix it as Hoover does not cover clogs in their warranty.
The tech also said that he's been repairing quite a few of these for the same reason.
Well, I got it back and guess what? It still doesn't pick up the water.
I went out yesterday and bought a new Floormate H3000, and the difference is night and day. That works, the SpinScrub 800 does not. And, the Spinscrub 800 is much heavier, and much more expensive.
This is a classic example of taking a really good machine, and making it into a horrible one. Sometimes things can't be improved. The SpinScrub 800 is like a bad sequel.
I am resigned to having wasted close to $300.00 on something which is completely unusable.
Hoover is completely unsympathetic to my complaint. They've told me that no one else has voiced any problems with the SpinScrub 800. I don't understand how that's possible, since I can see from the reviews listed here the same common issues.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Hoover FloorMate 800
This model 800 works better than the older 3000 model, tanks remove and go back on easier, still not enough capacity in the tanks for me, I have to fill and empty the tanks every 500 square feet of tile. The wider brushes speed up cleaning and the brushes do a better job getting into the grote then the older model, still only does a marginal job with the grote. Does a better job overall than trying to clean with a mop and bucket. Hopefully this one will last longer than the 1st model fm3000 which had a bearing go out on the motor around the 2 year mark.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Hoover 3060 FloorMate Review
I ordered this machine with some trepidation after reading what others had to say in their reviews. I also decided to upgrade to this system over the smaller unit which sells for less money. However, after using it for the first time to clean over 2700sf of tile and marble, I am very happy with the machine on most accounts. Yes, one must move slowly to accomplish the best cleaning job, but that is true of doing it by hand as well. I start at one wall and follow the row of tile to the other wall, move to the next row, and so on, until a room is completely cleaned. This way, I do not forget where I last cleaned, nor do I miss any spots. It goes at about the same pace as using a buffing machine on tile floors. The nasty, dirty water collecting in the lower reservoir is testament to the job the Spin Mate is doing.
The negatives: the cleaning solution is overpriced and the reservoir doen't hold very much. I had to refill 9 times to clean my floors. The add-on tools are pretty useless, they just seem to spray out cleaning solution without much cleaning taking place.
The positives: No dirty mop water left on the floor! No scrubbing on hands and knees! The grout brushes do a very nice job on my grout lines, which are all done with brown-toned grouts. Thank goodness I had sense enough when putting in these floors to stay away from white grout!
My summary: if you are patient enough to let this machine move at it's own pace across your floors, and you do it in a systematic way, you will be very pleased with how clean and fresh your floors look and smell.
By the way, a long-time janitor friend told me to always use only a dab of cleaner in proportion to water when doing floors, as the cleaners build up over time resulting in a sticky mess. Therefore, I used only 1/4 of the recommended cleaning solution in my mixture, and used very hot water.
Hope this helps anyone else who is considering this cleaning machine.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Trust me on this one!!
We have a 400 square foot tiled Florida room and two large dogs who are in and out the back door constantly, in additon to many visitors. Over time their dirty paws had darkened the colored grout considerably, and I was looking for a solution to cleaning it without breaking my back (I have enough to worry about around the house).
After laboriously reading the reviews on both the H3030 500 and the 800, it seemed as if the general consensus was that both were good products. Granted, there were a couple of negative reviews, but I thought 'oh well you can't please everyone' and ordered it anyway.
Oh boy, was I wrong... If you are not concerned with cleaning grout, then I guess this would be okay for you. But even then, the reservoir doesn't hold much and depending on the sqare footage you have to clean, you will find yourself emptying and refilling frequently. It didn't even TOUCH the grout, the rotating brushes were no stiffer than a hairbrush. When it arrived I was really excited to try my new machine, and then I was massively disappointed. To top it off, the handle comes to you in two pieces, (unassembled-it easily snaps together) but it doesn't come apart to ship back, so it won't fit back in the box! Plus we lost the $18 shipping fee to return it. TOTAL waste of time, energy and money. Don't make the same mistake.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Wonderful cleaner
This machine is easy to use and does a great job cleaning tile. Just ok at cleaning the grout.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Useful product
We purchased the McCulloch MC-1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner because we just moved into a new house with lots of tile. Make sure to follow directions and get familiar with your Steam cleaner.
It will definitely clean grout, with the appropriate attachment head. However, it can be tiring to do so and hard on your knees/back to bend over the tile. I recommend doing it in small doses.
Using other attachments, the steamer does a great (and quick) job breaking up stains on the actual tile surface.
We are happy with our purchase.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Can NOT use a disinfectant with this floor cleaner
I will preface this by saying that I am a health care provider in Public Health with over 25 years of experience. I have just spoken to Lysol and to Hoover customer representatives on the telephone. Both companies said that neither of their cleaning products contain a disinfectant. And, you cannot add a disinfectant to their solution or use any other solution other than the ones that Hoover markets (Lysol has stopped making their cleaner for Hoover). That means that if you have mold, mildew, cat litter, dirt, or any other means of bacterial or viral contamination of your floor (and we all do, just by walking around with our shoes), those bacteria will continue to live on your floor. There is a reason why every cleaning product for floors advertises that it contains ingredients to kill mold, bacteria, viruses, and mildew, for example, Lysol. Otherwise, you are just moving those things around on your floor. The floor will look clean but you have not killed those things that can cause you and your family potential harm. This is the year 2006 Hoover, wake up!

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review I'm glad I bought it used!!
There are good and bad things about this product. First let's cover the good. You don't have to bend over to scrub the floor, you don't have to get your hands wet and keep rinsing out a mop or scrub brush, it is "convienient" to use and the cleaner smells good.

The bad is what made me glad I had bought this used instead of paying full price for a brand new machine. It is inconvienient to clean, it doesn't scrub the floor like I had hoped, if you want a really clean floor you need to just get down with a scrub brush and do it. Now, if you do this everyday it might be better, but don't try to use this on a really dirty floor. The squeege doesn't pick up as much water as the description might let on and the brushes leave marks in the water after it has dried so you see lines of film. Not bad but not what I had hoped. It is louder than I had hoped.

That is the good and bad of this product in my opinion. There appear to be a lot of people out there who love this, I don't hate it but I sure don't love it either. Like I said, I am glad I didn't buy it new and pay full price for it.

Hard-Floor Cleaners Review Second best reason to live in the 2000's
I love this machine. Ran across it searching for a new vacuum. Although my home is 90% wood and tile floors, I'd never even heard of a "hard-floor" cleaner. I was sceptical, but the floors hadn't been washed for over 6 months & the reviews looked promising.

So I read the directions and started in on my kitchen tile. It wasn't perfect, but it was a whole lot better than mopping. It didn't seem to suck up the water very well, so I did the skating around with an old towel, which I kinda like anyways..

I noticed that the indicator thingy for wet/dry on the base didn't seem to change when I moved the handle switch from scrub to vacuum.. Figured it was a defect I could live with.

When I was almost done, I finally realized there's a foot pedal to lift and lower the brushes and cleaner. I'd done the whole floor in "dry" vacuum mode and I was still pretty happy with it.

Now that I knew how to use it, I redid the entire floor in about 10 minutes with the machine set properly and it's awesome. Am actually looking forward to tackling the hardwood tomorrow.

All my friends will hear about this one, just as they did the 1st best reason: Endometrial ablation (no more periods!)
