Do not waste your moneyThis is the most expensive piece of trash I have ever owned. It does not roll at all on bare carpet or floors. Please do not waste your money.
Great Balls of Dust! No More!Solid construction, easy to use, very quiet, works great on my berber-like carpets, picks up even cat hair. I'm very pleased with my purchase - no more loud vacuuming or having to deal with the cord.

It sucks great everytime I get it home from shop! Hence IT SUCKS>I brought this baby home and did it ever clean up! Quiet, powerful, great features! That said, DON'T BUY ONE OF THESE UNITS!
I have had this into the shop three times in as many months on the first one and the replacement lasted for three vacumings... Defective drive unit. The brush quits spinning and you have to return it to service center. In my case thats a 52 mile trip! I have made that trip 6 times and am on my way again today!
Beware this unit!

HOOVER DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMOREI have always owned a hoover. I purchased a Dyson but returned it as it was too clumsy. Decided to go with Hoover again. What a mistake.
Everything is made of plastic. One of the cups that the hose slides through so it is held in place on the machine broke. As it is under warranty for another month, I called the repair shop and told them what had happened. Their response was: Bring it in, if it is a manufacturing defect, we will replace it, otherwise we will not. Great, prove that it is a manufacturing defect when the entire machine is a piece of junk. I have new carpeting and fuzz has lodged itself under the front cover. I have removed all the screws and cannot get that front cover off in order to remove the fuzz. I may have to eat this damn machine but am going to look at the Sears which I am told is made out of old fashioned metal and does a fabulous job.

Don't waste your moneyThis vacuum performs well, but is not built to last. The drive motor for the brushes died two months outside the 1 year warranty. Hoover told me that they would cover 50% of parts, but it still is a $130 repair. I'm currently looking for a more durable vacuum.

Maintenance mess and poor performerThis was my first and last bagless unit. Don't assume bagless means convenience or less mess. The unit is high maintenance, requiring frequent filter disassembly and cleaning. The dirt never makes it to the dirt container. After several calls to Bissell customer service and new filter kits, the representative claimed the unit is not suited for everyday or light vacuuming. Seems the small particles clog the filter and restrict access to the dirt container. I don't believe the unit is capable of handling heavy vacuuming due to its poor suction. My expectations were not high considering the $89 price, but I expected more than a single use unit.
Great vacuum no matter the priceOriginally, I purchased this vacuum at Sams for $88 to use as the upstairs vacuum (I'm too lazy to haul the other vacuum up the stairs!). After I got it home, I thought I'd give it try downstairs. Needless to say, it has not made it to its intended upstairs location. Amazing suction (and I have two big, hairy dogs), easy to empty dirt cup, love that the hose is attached, no problems with it at all. I was so impressed with it I actually began vacuuming more often. Used it for about a year, then I crashed it into the corner while backing up. Smoke poured out from everywhere. Figuring the vacuum died due to my own fault, I promptly went to Sam's (still $88)and bought another. Same great suction and everything else. Cleans much, much better than my heavier, bagged Hoover. And, one more wonderful thing, the edge fits under the toe kick of the kitchen cabinets so I don't have to use the hose. The little turbo brush does a decent job on the stairs and when vacuuming the sofa, I just put the whole thing right on the sofa as the dog hair comes off more easily this way. I highly recommend this vacuum - in fact, my one friend bought 2 for her house, another bought one, and my neighbor across the street has one. We all love this thing!!
Best suction power Ive ever hadFor an $89 vacuum , I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I surprised! After 2 months I am still amazed at how much dirt it continually gets up. The cord is very long, so I dont need to unplug as often. The fit and finish is great, with no less than 3 filters (2 are washable). It is very easy to empty also. The carpet height selector did feel a little iffy when I first used it, it made this screaching noise, would have sworn it was broken, the trick is to push down and twist it initially to "brake" it in. Wish they included extra belts.

Great vacuum! We just got this vacuum a couple weeks ago and were amazed at all the additional accessories that came with it as well as the closed system HEPA filter.
The vacuum itself is great, the HEPA filter works like it should (no yucky vacuum smell or dust) and it had no problems getting out all the dust and dirt from our carpets. We vacuumed our whole house (which hadnt been vacuumed in atleast a month) and only filled up about half the container, so we had no problems with the storage capacity.
This vacuum came with a variety of accessories including a "paw" that allows you to vacuum stairs and curtains and a "static duster" that will clean itself when u put it back in its compartment on the vaccuum. THe paw itself works just as it should and had no problems reaching the stairs and sucking up stuff.
Now the only bad thing..
The duster itself is a brilliant idea. You would let it spin for a while to create static, take it out and attract dust on window sills etc and put it back in with all the dirt hanging onto the duster and spin it again to suck all the dust off. Great idea, but the only thing is (i'm not sure if its a techinical problem or design flaw) the duster wouldn't spin all the way. It would go and then stop and get stuck. We had to manually twist it ourselves to allow the duster to get static. After cleaning with it and all the dust was on it, we put it back in and because the suction from the vaccuum itself wasn't enough to spin the duster, u could still see large particles of webs or dust still caught on the duster.
Other than that, it is a great vaccuum with everything you could ever want out of a vacuum. It has plenty of accessories, convenient storage for those accessories, plenty of suction, plenty of room, and effective filter and doesn't weigh a ton. And plus, our version came with a free "minivac" that was like a mini vaccuum that had a detachable end and converted into a hand vac. It is very light and you could carry it everywhere with one hand with ease. This vaccuum also exceeded expectations and had plenty of suction to deal with everyday messes like spilled cereal or sugar.

Great vacuum for the price!I've had this vacuum for almost 3 years and its been doing great. I've only had to change the belt twice so far (knock on wood). It does a good job of getting lots of dog hair (I have 2 Australian Shepherds) up off my carpet. My Mom ended up buying one for herself after she fell in love with mine. It does a much better job on the carpets than the central vac they also have back home. I ended up buying two of the round filters you put inside the canister so that I can have a clean one to use to get all of the crap out of the old one. Did I say that I had 2 dogs that produce quite a bit of hair? I do have to empty out the canister a lot and hair does get caught up in the filters (the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars) but it definitely does a good job for me! I'm sure something else could do a better job but I got this for $80 or $90 from Sams Club...you just can't beat this vacuum at that price!
Excellent upgradeMy original vacuum cleaner (for my small, carpeted office) was the Boss lite, which worked fairly well at picking up dirt. But, it's small and does not get close enough to the walls. Therefore, I ordered the Eureka 5863 as a replacement. It arrived quickly, in the manufacturer's box. Assembly was quick and quite simple. What a difference from the smaller vacuum. This is much more powerful, requiring one (or two) passes over an area of carpet to get all the deep dirt. Also, it has an edge cleaner which is really nice for getting close to the wall. The accessories are conveniently placed on the vacuum and work well. The hose is much longer than included with my smaller vacuum. Overall, this is a powerful, easy to use, time saving vacuum. The bonus stick vac (ie., dust buster like vacuum) is a nice addition for cleaning small areas very conveniently. It even has an extendable handle so that it can be used to quickly clean a small section of the carpet when the larger vacuum isn't needed.

Just okay. Not bad if all you need to do is swipe your hard floor every couple of days. However, if you want a similar product that performs better, I highly recommend the Eureka Boss 96D "Quick Up" Lite Upright Cordless. I own both the Bissell Catch-All and the Euraka Boss and I have to say the Eureka Boss outperforms it in every way (the only caveat being that the Catch-All has the option of attaching a dry dust cloth to the bottom.. an option I couldn't care less about, since it doesn't seem to clean any better with the cloth on). Also, the Boss is cheaper right now (on Amazon anyway).
I am on my second Boss in 10 years.. they last from 5- 7 years with moderate usage.
BOSS VS Catch-All ADVANTAGES:
-The Boss is light and highly maneuverable. The Bissell Catch-all head is larger and clunkier, while the actual cleaning/suction area is the same size as the Boss
-Boss holds a charge for a fairly long while.. I've gotten up to 30 minutes on a single charge. Bissell Catch-all loses suction after 15 minutes
-Boss charges up fully within 6- 8 hours.. Bissell Catch-all takes 24 hours
-Boss has excellent to very good suction.. picks up everything from dust and fine crumbs to larger sized pieces of whatever. Suction of Bissell Catch-all is just not as strong, period.
-The Boss works great on both hard floors and area rugs.. and great on stairs. The Catch-all slows noticably on even the shortest of area rugs, and does not pick everything up. Its head is too large and clunky for stairs. It really is only for hard floors.
BOSS DRAWBACKS:
-sort of noisy! Catch-all is slightly quieter.
-works fairly well on longer rugs (although for a quick surface cleanup of the rug, the Boss can't be beat). Needless to say, the Catch-all can't pick up a single thing on longer rugs.
-Boss dust cup compartment is a little difficult to insert and remove.. although I think they are working on this, as the cup has become easier to manage on the newer model. The Catch-all compartment is easier to remove.. although, it's also much smaller than the Boss' cup.
-doesn't always get into the corners, and of course, you will have to get out your dustrag or mop for those pesky baseboards
-The Boss' battery does not remove.. you plug the whole unit into a large charger, which you then plug into the wall. The Catch-all's battery does remove, which you place in a small charger which you can leave on your counter as it charges. Keep in mind though.. the Boss is ready to go after 6- 8 hours, the Catch-all takes 24 hours.
These drawbacks are minimal and didn't stop me from giving the Boss five stars!! I love it that much. So consider carefully what your needs are before you buy!

Good for light cleaningThis is better than my Swiffer since it vacuums up dust and pieces that the Swiffer doesn't. It is not the best for a heavy cleaning, but once you've done your heavy cleaning and use this every few days, the floors stay very clean anyway. You just have to remember to charge the battery the night before.
I like that it uses any brand electrostatic cloth so I can buy whatever is on sale. The little filter on the vacuum lasted me about a year before I had to buy a new one, and every once in a while you have to unscrew the brush cover to remove hair that has wound around it. I don't think this would be an issue if you have short hair that doesn't shed much or no pets.

the answer to easy wood floor dustingMy home has hardwood floors throughout, so keeping them dust free is a pain. Because I hate to drag out my big vacuum all the time I've come to rely heavily on my CatchAll. It's very light weight and does a fine job of picking up dust and dog hair. I like it so much I bought a second one for my cabin. Recently, one of them quit working. I exchanged the battery from my other one to see if the rechargeable battery had gone bad. When it still didn't turn on, I emailed Bissell to see if they could suggest something. To my complete surprise, they emailed me back that they are sending me a replacement at no charge even though my vac is out of warranty. Now that's a company I'll do business with anytime!
