This vaccum is great. I was worried about the bag/filter light to see if the bag would really be full before it came on and low and behold the bag was stuffed when the light came on. I have not had any problems and would recommend this vaccum to anyone. It works great on picking up dog hair from the carpet and bare floors.

If you read your manual, it recommends replacing this every year. We had our vacuum for two years before replacing this. Now the vacuum works back up to original specs-you can't smell dust any more, and it sucks harder.

You probably want to replace the pleated filter after a year or two also, no matter how good you are at cleaning it.

It worked well for about a year. I used it about twice a month in a small one bedroom apartment. It was annoying that the compartment that holds the dirt was small, so you had to empty it half way through each use. The filter light CONSTANTLY came on, despite cleaning and replacing it several times. Finally after almost exactlly 12 months, just as the warranty ended, it gave out. I will not buy this vacuum ever again and do not intend on recommending it to anyone.

Well, I thought this was going to be a great lightweight vac for in-between cleanings, but it does smell terrible and the first time I rinsed the HEPA filter, it dried smelling worse than ever! If I want to use the vacuum now I'm going to have buy a $16 filter. Definitely not a bargain!!

I've had this vacuum for a month now & I love it. Very easy to use. My house even smells cleaner after I use it. (I don't know why others are complaining about a bad smell.) I live in a 70 year-old farmhouse with lots of cats. This vacuum does a great job with all the cat hair & sand & dust. It's a small vac, so I can't do the whole house all at once without emptying the filter & dust cup several times - but I was looking for a small vac, not a big one. This is easy to pull out & do one room real quick, without the hassle of a big vac to do the whole house.

This vacuum cleans very well. I like the fact that it adjusts to the correct height for carpet cleaning. It is a little heavy. I have already broken a belt, user error, but it wasn't too difficult to put on a new one. Do advise in getting some when you purchase. The filter is deep in the dirt chamber and gets dirty. It is easy to remove to clean, just wish the dirt chamber was a little larger. I like how the onboard cleaning wand works. It is easy to use. This is my first Panasonic vacuum. I think I am going to enjoy using it, that is if you enjoy using vacuums.

Since I broke the belt of my DirtDevil on the same day as my Eureka and ordered them on the same day I can really compare shipping speed. Eureka's replacement belts arrived the day after I ordered while I had to wait for almost a week for DirtDevil's.

This vacuum is only three months old when I tried to vacume up a small area of dirt in the middle of my living room. What I saw as the vacuum passed over the area is a brown streak. I didn't know what it was at first. It wouldn't clean up even with detergent and hand scrubbing. I called a carpet cleaning company in and they said it was a burn! I then took the vacuum to service and they said the motor over-heated (BURNING MY CARPET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LIVING ROOM!!). I now have to get the carpet replaced. This vacuum apparently has the same over-heating flaw that the closely related Hoover model "U5150-900 Tempo Upright Bagless Vacuum" has. Check out the Amazon reviews of that one. I will never buy a Hoover product again!!

I bought this vacumn for my daughter last Christmas. Budjet was limited and I reviewed Comsumer report picks. She loves it. I have a two-story house and lugging my $299 Windtunnel up and down the steps was a real pain. And I like it better! I bought this vacumn for one-floor use. It's great. It has the 12 amps of my Windtunnel but is narrow and gets into smaller spaces, Tools are easier to grab and is light to use. Had a hard time finding it again on Amazon. Searched several times before success. It was worth the wait.

consider a few things. They market them as "easy" to empty the cannister. Easy? Is having to take the vacuum OUTSIDE to remove the cannister, dumping the cannister into a plastic bag to AVOID the MASSIVE cloud of DUST created while emptying the cylinder easy? If opened inside your home, the SAME dust you sucked out gets redeposited from the dust-cloud-fallout. If you, your children or pets have allergies....forget it. Now, about this vac. It has FILTERED air discharged while it's running. It TRAPS the dust and debris in a bag that is easily removed, kept sealed and disposed of....all without the EXTRA hassle of taking precautions to avoid a massive dust cloud. Ours replaced a 13 year-old Hoover upright that served us well but was worn out. It is VERY strong and easily maneuvered. It was easy to assemble and took only a few minutes to do so. But, be forewarned....buy it QUICK! It's only a matter of time before the sweeping tide of "bagless vacs" relegates bagged vacs to the museum, all in the name of "convenience". I beg to differ. This is a great vacuum.
