You get what you pay for! This is a cheap vacuum and it performs like one too. That's fine if that's all you want...however, it is also not long-lasting or durable. Don't expect this vacuum to last you more than 1 year. Mine is particularly prone to the ball bearings on the motor mounts burning out. I fixed it once for $20, and it just broke again. It's going into the trash now.
DON'T BUY THIS VACUUM!!!!THIS IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER OWNED. The hose connector breaks, the suction is lousy, it doesn't pick up anything near the edges of furniture and walls, it doesn't fit under any furniture and the attachments are almost useless and fall off easily. The blower blows more dirt and hair into the air than the vacuum picks up. Never again will I buy a dirt devil anything. Forget the cheap price- It's not worth any of your money. I am throwing it in the garbage happy to never use it again when I get my new vacuum. I hate it!!!!!!
blower blows too much air I went ahead and purchased this vacuum even after reading the two negative reviews because I wanted a nonbagless light vacuum cleaner. Being someone who's extremely allergic to dust mites and molds, i thought the "microfresh filration" would be ideal for me. Having tried several different vacuums in the past 2 month, I found this vacuum in terms of material/build quality and power to be pretty good for the price. However, there's one BIG flaw in this design, the blower blows ALOT of air out, which in terms..pushes all the allergen materials back up into the air. Within a few minutes, my body was extremely itching. Really destroys the whole purpose of their primary design that was stated on product box " traps 99% of dust and allergens. Ideal for allergy sufferers". Overall I would love to keep this vacuum, but i dont think i am willing to put up with the extreme itching everytime i use this product.

An Excellent Vacuum!!!I have also been using a useless stick vacuum for months.
I finally decide to check out some other options that will really clean my place up. I also didn't want to spend so much $$$ on Dyson. So I gave Dirt Devil a try. I love that it's really easy to use. And best of all, it sucks all the nasty stuff off our rug. We were disgusted by what came up in the tube after using it for 15 minutes. We are really happy that we purchased this little Dirt Devil.

Great Vac!The ease of use is incredible. The swivel casters are a plus. Had been using a Hoover for the past 12 years and was amazed at how much dirt was left behind in my rugs. This vac really gets all the dirt and dust that other vacs leave behind. Try and find a vac with all the similar features, and that works as good as this for the same price. You won't!
Good VacThis was purchased as a gift and the receipient really thanked me and said it worked great!! Especially "the no" bag deal.

Do not buy this productI got mine for Christmas, 4.5 months later the belt broke. It takes 8 weeks to get a new belt. You cannot buy parts for these vacuums anywhere but through the company. They don't even stock a simple parts such as a belt. I don't know about you, but have you ever tried to last 8 weeks without vacuuming? I bought a reputable vacuum today and the Shark is going to the goodwill!
Worthless I bought a shark, the red model, with a little battery-charged sweeper. I hate the vacuum. The dirt, "cup" is hardly bigger than a coffee cup and fills up within minutes. After a couple of months it just quit picking up. I do like the little sweeper for floors though. I would not recommend it. You would be better off with a automobile hand-held vacuum.
A complete waste of cash and timeMy Shark vacuum's adjustable handle broke after only a month of use. Then, to make matters worse, it recently starting overheating and spontaneously shutting off, forcing me to vacuum only one room at a time. And this vacuum wasn't cheap! The Shark company makes little or no effort to fix its products, and I have been left with a near useless vaccum that I have only had for one year. Don't waste your time: buy a different brand!

You get what you pay for?We barely had this out of the box before we realized we should return it. The retractable cord didn't retract, for one thing, even after trying all the tricks in the book for that problem. In general though, we knew it was a cheap vacuum, but we didn't epect the parts and attachments to really seem *this* cheap. It seemed more like a toy vacuum than something really serviceable.
Not RecommendedCord doesn't stay out. Filters need to be cleaned after every use. The cannister fills up quickly. Only pros are the price and it is very lightweight. Only okay on hard floors and does a terrible job on carpets. Doesn't pick up small food items (ie. cheerios or cherrio pieces). I wouldn't ever buy this vacuum again.
Vacuuming is super-duper funI grew up using a Rainbow vacuum, and nothing else has ever compared. We've had an Orek for 8 years - and I HATE IT! After spending a small fortune on it, I was forced to keep using it. I researched until I got blue in the face, and am so happy with my purchase. I decided to buy it a Target instead of online, just in case I didn't like it, then I could return it easily enough. DON'T CONFUSE THIS ROADSTER (EP722) WITH THE OTHER ROADSTER SHARK, that uses bags and has much less suction.
We have a 3,000 sq ft house with hardwood and carpet. We have two big dogs that shed enough to knit a sweater everyday. We also have two, two year olds that leave cheerios everywhere.
Here is what I was looking for in a vacuum... Good at picking up dog hair without getting clogged, good suction to get deep in the carpets, portable enough for stairs, a flat head with good swivel action so it fits around the toilet and under the fridge and heavy furniture, and able to pick up large dog food. The Roadster does it all!
The first time I plugged this thing in, I got so excited. Vacuuming was a breeze and I was able to do the whole house in a fraction of the time it usually took me. I didn't need to pull out the dustbuster and the shop vac to clean. This thing even picked up the lost pine needles from the Christmas tree. There is no need to bend over and pick up all those little pieces of paper and bag ties that drop on the floor... nope, it sucks them all right up - no problem. the swivel head easily manuvers around the toilet, under the fridge, and under our very heavy furniture. We don't have to move anything. My two year old daughter loves to vacuum, and it's light enough for her to use too. It reaches into the crevices of the couch and sucks EVERYTHING up. I'm also addicted to the dusting brush. It stores small and doesn't take up much room on the floor of my linen closet. I know it cleans deep in the carpets because when we shampoo it, the water isn't nearly as filthy as it used to be with the Oreck. It also makes the carpet stand up again after years of laying down.
Now for the cons... the cord is way too short - 15 ft doesn't even reach accross the entire room. I vacuum with an extension cord so I don't have to keep stopping. The dust cup is way too small. I have to empty it atleast 3 times every time I vacuum (but remember the dog hair?)It's very messy to empty, so I dump it in the garage can. The filter is also time consuming to clean. There is a brush that fits onto the back of it, that allows you to loosen the dirt - it helps a lot. If you don't clean the filter after every use, you loose precious suction. When they say viggerously tap the filter until no more dust comes out - they mean it! I end up washing it after every use. Make sure you don't put it back on while it's wet, or it won't dry properly. I ordered a second filter (online) so I could always have a clean, dry one. Also make sure you change all three filters occasionally.
This vacuum is not for everyone, it requires a bit of maintenance, but is a BIG bang for the buck. I wanted a Dyson, but didn't want to lay out $600. Consumer reports ranked this second in suction.

I like the fact that this vacuum uses bags (which most handheld vacs do not) because when you open it, you don't end up in a cloud of dust and dirt. Miele is especially good in designing its bags to keep even the finest dirt particles in, and the S148 adds a HEPA filter.
I purchased an additional, motorized combination carpet/floor tool, which comes standard with the S147, and would recommend that anyone with pile carpet do the same. (I bought the S148 for its HEPA filtration, but the two models are otherwise identical, so any attachment marketed with the S147 will work with the S148.)
My only complaint about this vacuum is that neither of its floor attachments has a bumper strip to protect my furniture and baseboards -- and I have the nicks and chipped paint to show for it. If Miele would correct this design flaw (and it is a flaw with the powerheads for many of their models), I would give this 5 stars without hesitation. As it is, I'll give it 4.
