This item was shipped promptly. It came with no major blems, missing parts or problems; only careful examination would show it had been used a bit (very light scuffing on bottom plate). Excellent design, just as advertised. Bagless dust collection, like all similar designs requires regular cleaning to maintain peak efficiency but parts (3) are easily removed and can be washed quickly. Would recommend purchase of a second foam filter to use while original one is washed and drying. Bagless design light years ahead of the other big sweeper guys with messy pleated paper cylinders. Strong sustained suction and great long cord. Best for last - the 2 piece design is great, not heavy and removes and reattaches to the main unit easily and quickly. Only problem is that provided bare floor brush is inadequate and cannot be stored on board with other attachments; also hose size does not match with attachments of other sweepers I have. Had to search for an adapter to mate an older good floor attachment with the Bissell hose. Overall very pleased and the price was unbeatable.

this is an ausome vaccum, the lift out action is the best for stairs! it is nice to not have to cart the whole vaccum cleaner up and down the stairs while vaccuming them. there is a few things about the lift off I would have liked to have seen, like a better nozzle, like one on a dust buster so vaccuming the stairs would be quicker but at least the fact that you don't have that huge vaccum cleaner to luge up and down doesn't make it so tedious.

I love this vacuum -- the dust cup is EASY to empty, it has a slide-lock. The two washable filters are very easy to get to & clean, and the instructions for that are right on the dust cup! No mysteries!!! It does a great job, and my husband seems to love the little removable canister for cleaning up around his "projects". I have dogs, cats, kids, men, and thick wool rugs - It's gotten a lot of use already & no problems at all.

I have also been using a useless stick vacuum for months.
I finally decide to check out some other options that will really clean my place up. I also didn't want to spend so much $$$ on Dyson. So I gave Dirt Devil a try. I love that it's really easy to use. And best of all, it sucks all the nasty stuff off our rug. We were disgusted by what came up in the tube after using it for 15 minutes. We are really happy that we purchased this little Dirt Devil.

The ease of use is incredible. The swivel casters are a plus. Had been using a Hoover for the past 12 years and was amazed at how much dirt was left behind in my rugs. This vac really gets all the dirt and dust that other vacs leave behind. Try and find a vac with all the similar features, and that works as good as this for the same price. You won't!

This was purchased as a gift and the receipient really thanked me and said it worked great!! Especially "the no" bag deal.

I got mine for Christmas, 4.5 months later the belt broke. It takes 8 weeks to get a new belt. You cannot buy parts for these vacuums anywhere but through the company. They don't even stock a simple parts such as a belt. I don't know about you, but have you ever tried to last 8 weeks without vacuuming? I bought a reputable vacuum today and the Shark is going to the goodwill!

I bought a shark, the red model, with a little battery-charged sweeper. I hate the vacuum. The dirt, "cup" is hardly bigger than a coffee cup and fills up within minutes. After a couple of months it just quit picking up. I do like the little sweeper for floors though. I would not recommend it. You would be better off with a automobile hand-held vacuum.

My Shark vacuum's adjustable handle broke after only a month of use. Then, to make matters worse, it recently starting overheating and spontaneously shutting off, forcing me to vacuum only one room at a time. And this vacuum wasn't cheap! The Shark company makes little or no effort to fix its products, and I have been left with a near useless vaccum that I have only had for one year. Don't waste your time: buy a different brand!

The things I don't like about the Hoover are the noise...it's pretty loud, and the cord is too short. Also, it doesn't pick up the dog hair very well in the carpet. I think next time I'd spend a little extra and get a better vacuum cleaner.

I bought this remanufactured item for $40.00 from Amazon. I am finding this as a great deal for a Hoover upright vaccum cleaner.

After the first week I owned this vacuum, the problems started adding up. First, the belt kept slipping off, and two belts broke within the first month. Then, the bearing on the brush roller gave out, not once, but twice. Spent close to 100 extra dollars fixing this vacuum when it broke, and now it's totally useless and the warranty has run out. Avoid buying this vacuum if you don't want a lot of extra expense and frustration!!

I made the mistake of going out and trying to save money, buy buying one of those $35-55 vacuums. It said on the box that it would do hardwood and carpet. It turned out to be a waste of money, and time. For the money, this vacuum is 550% better than what my family was using for only twice the money. With the attachments that really come in handy as well. I would think this would work just as well as a 250$ vacuum. Boss has done an excellent job in my book.

The only drawbacks I've found are the short hose for accessories, and it might be a bit heavy for smaller people, other than that it is a very good machine, especially for the price. The first time I used it I completely filled the canister in two rooms, and my wife is a neat freak, who had just vacumed with our old machine the day before. The air driven accessory power head was very good at removing cat hair, which surprised me, on wide soft surfaces you just have to pull away after a second to get the rpm up, sort of blotting the area. For a short rug or narrow surfaces it works just like an electric power head. The edge cleaning main power head is very wide, covering a floor very quickly, and does a good job in the corners, but can be a bit tricky around furniture and tight spaces. The accessories all store nicely on the frame, but I would recommend to the manufacturers to include a recoil system for the cord. The bagless cup was very easy to clean, and the filter seems to be pretty easy to clean or replace. I was pleasantly surprised to find the filters would last a year and are cheap to replace, reusable and washable. The duster is pretty easy to use, but the house was pretty clean to begin with so I can't say how effective it is.
Overall the product is very good, with a lot of extra features competitors in the same price range do not have. It is quiet, effective and an excellent buy, especially considering the price.

Okay, I stumbled onto this in a store on clearance, so it cost less than you can imagine, so I got it. We got a puppy, and my old Hoover (nothing spectacular or expensive at all) wasn't doing the job anymore. I got the Dyson Animal (DC07) home, and first did the basement floors (hadn't been vacuumed in months). That was absolutely amazingly fun. The reason I'd stopped vacuuming them is it took too long to get everything up. Not so with this one. But, I had to empty it several times for the amount of dirt that had built up (heavy traffic from gardenning). So, I did the upstairs which I vacuum once to twice a week on a regular basis (including all furniture). That was another amazing thing. It went FAST. And, while not as much to pick up, it picked up everything. Knowing what it does, I now have relatives who want to buy one even at regular price, so I'm pointing them towards Amazon's refurbished ones.

I would recommend this to anyone as a vacuum that can do it all. I found the attachments can go on either end of the hose (this is nice if you are doing something close to the vacuum with it). But, I was able to do the stairs without moving the vacuum once. And, the vacuum is light weight, easy to roll, which is wonderful. Finally ... it is quieter than my Hoover Vac by far. I've heard quieter (Kirby for instance) ... but this is wonderful. The 35 foot hose made it easier to do areas without having to constantly move the cord to a new outlet.

So, bang for buck ... I think Dyson is worth every penny even at full price, but moreso at Refurbished prices on Amazon.

My wife bought me this vacuum for my birthday -- I think mostly as a gag gift. To make a long story short I got stuck with vacuuming and cleaning the shower -- don't ask me why, marriage is a funny thing. Anyway, I was always in trouble because I hated our vacuum -- it was a Dirt Devil that sounded like a F-16 taking off every time I turned it on -- I don't think it worked very well either -- I would run over stuff and it didn't seem to pick things up -- so I would run over it again and again with the same result until I finally figured out it was tape or paint or something. Since I didn't like the vacuum, I rarely used it and when I did I complained and whined. Sometimes I would turn it on and close the door and not vacuum then turn the ball game on -- my wife thought I was vacuuming but since it didn't work very well I didn't see the harm.
To make a long story short, this new Dyson vacuum is absolutely amazing. It is by far the best vacuum I have ever seen -- and used although i haven;t used very many. One reason I like it is that you can actually see all the dirt and other stuff that it has picked up. I know I probably have a pea brain but its fun to see the fruits of your hard labor in the form of dirt, hair, and stale popcorn in that clear plastic bin. Anyway, I now like vacuuming because of the Dyson DC07. I do it once or sometimes twice a week and my wife is happy. I don't fake vacuum anymore either because the Dyson is fun to use and very effective. Buy this vacuum for your husband -- he will enjoy using it and you will enjoy a clean house!! Unfortunately, the Dyson can't clean the shower -- that job still sucks.
