Don't buy a Delonghi vacuum - unless you want to wait a month to get replacement bags and can live with the dirt...

Tried ordering bags through site allergybegone. Waited 10 days. Nothing came. I called them. They said my particular bag was discontinued and they apologized, putting blame on Manufacturer for not properly notifying. Next I tried to order direct from Delonghi. Waited 10 days. Called in and found they got the address wrong. That was after waiting 30 minutes for a Customer Service rep (who was very nice) to pick up the phone. She went to superviser, who said they'd send out replacement bags the regular way to the correct address. I can only assume I'll be waiting another 10 days. I've been a loyal Delonghi customer, but not anymore. At the point they heard I've been 20 days without bags, a supervisor should have taken charge and created a satisfied customer. Vaccum is fine. Their service, and the way they manage their supplies through 3rd party vendors is not. Enjoy the first 10 bags, and then get ready to live in a dirty home.

Bought this in June, 2005. Since our house has built-in central vaccuum already, the unit was used sparingly to clean my daughter's apartment. She's a traveling consultant working in Philly but living in Denver. The vaccuum is light and powerful - it was a breeze to clean her 500 square-foot apartment. However, it was used less than a dozen times when apparently the motor went dead. The authorized service center said the unit is not under warranty according to its serial number and would cost $150 to repair. But it was shipped June 23, 2005 from Amazon and broke down Thanksgiving Day, 2005! It worked well while it lasted...

If you have hardwood and tile floors then this is the vacuum for you! I like how you can adjust the amount of power that it uses and it is not as loud as most vacuums. It does an excellent job with pet hair. There is no disgusting canister to empty or a filter to clean like with my old vacuum. I had no problem getting bags for it at all. The person that rated this as one star because they said they could not get bags should remove that rating because it is just not true. I ordered the replacement bags on Amazon and had them in 2 days. My local vacuum supply also stocks the replacement bags. This vacuum is wonderful!

My model was a Hoover U6616-900 WindTunnel Self Propelled Bagless Upright

This thing was great for two months while it lasted. The first 800 sq foot of carpet looks great compared to the rest of the house. However the Hoover went up in smoke. The manual says it has an over heat cut-off, but it over heated and all I could see was smoke. I had to air the house out. Taking the machine to the only authorized repair in the area 30 miles away, they laughed when they saw me coming in with the vacuumed. The said don't tell us it over heated. Yep and the motor fried $$$$$.

I admitted that the house was extra dirty but that was no excuse. Their official stand is that the final filter was too dirty and it was my fault. I should not have relied on the heat cutoff and not let my filter get dirty. WHAT! Not let the filter get dirty. Yep if it gets dirty all warranties are off.

The dealer said any fool that would buy a Hover that is now made by Maytag off shore deserves what I got.

So much for the Warranty.
