I am amazed that this vacuum made it to market. It must have been pushed by the marketing dept and not the research dept. It works great for the first minute or two, until there is a inch or more of dirt against the 3x3 inch grill on the one side. All the air has to go thru the dirt in this one small area and the air flow goes to next to nothing and all suckion stops. If you want a bagless, get one with the grill vertcally between the two compartments. This gives a large enough space for the air to go thru and the wind action keeps the dirt from piling on the grill.

The little upright Dirt Devil has the same type of grill but it is just used for small clean ups so the dirt cup gets emptied often.

This vacuum works good for picking up animal hair but its lousy for picking up embedded dirt thats not seen.The Hoover Windtunnel is much more effective,even the hoover bagless without the windtunnel technology will out perform the Eureka whirlwind.

Need a Vacuum buy this one.... simple enough!!!

The price tag you're looking at is for the features and everyone seems to be giving this vacuum a high rating on it's power performance ONLY. You can find a vacuum with better features and equal power for cheaper.

PROS: 1) Good suction 2) Easy to empty 3) Three filters 4) Hasn't clogged and I've sucked up a bag of flour and have brand new carpet.

CONS: 1) IT'S HEAVY 2) It's very bulky 3) The hose is way too SHORT which really surprised me. I tried to pull it out to suck something up and it barely reached pass the vacuum. As heavy as the vacuum is you'd think they'd make the hose longer so you could reach the messes. Not to mention that it only comes with one extension (plus a brush and a crevice tool) 4) The duster is VERY IMPRACTICAL. It's what made me try this model and I never use it now. The first time I used it I knew I would never use it again. When you put the duster back into the holder it pushes the bristles back and throws the dust everywhere. It doesn't get an electrostatic charge (at least mine never did) so dust really doesn't stick to it very well. It just moves the dust around. You're better off with a good old fashion feather duster.

So to sum it all up, it's heavy and awkward to use, but it has excellent sucking power. Don't buy this for the features, you can find a vacuum with equal power for the same price (or lower) that has better features.

I just put this together and vacummed up a storm. I have two cats and can't believe how much cat hair this thing sucked up! The hose is already attached which is great with a toddler! It's light and pretty quite too. It's easy to empty and easy to use as well. I am very pleased with this vacuum and would recommend this it to anyone. For the price it does an awesome job. It made two year old military carpet look good again!

I own a 85lb German Shepherd that does a lot of shedding. I bought this vacuum based on some reviews written about it and can only reaffirm the positive comments on it. I opened the box and tried it right away and after 1 min I had to empty all the dog hair it had picked up. It works great and would recommend it to any pet owner that has problems with pet hair.

Before deciding to go with the 5902AVZ, I personally tested all of the top-of-the-line models out there; including the best from Hoover, Bissell, and Red Devil (but not Dyson because of the price) and I would have to attest that the Eureka had the best suction of all the vacuums out there. The easiest thing to differentiate between the other units is the diameter of the suction hose; the 5902AVZ has a larger suction hose. This vacuum can really suck and the canister is easy to clean except for the first stage foam filter that can be a little messy to clean, but the good thing is that it only needs to be done once every 6-8 vacuum. The brush does a great job of whipping up the carpet and being able to turn off the brush is great for cleaning bare floors. One negative thing about the brush is that I had to take it out and clean twice already over the last 6 months that I have used it because hair gets stuck in between the rollers and makes a lot of squeaking noise; the other is I wish the left hand brush is closer to the edge like the right hand side. The vacuum has two separate motors; one for the brush and the other for the suction, so yes it means that this vacuum is heavy and I would suggest you ladies out there go and test it out first because it is heavy... but if you can tolerate the weight for suction then this is the one to get.

While I agree with some of the reviewers regarding the suction power of this vacuum cleaner, there are too many design flaws.
I bought this brand because my first vacuum was an Eureka and it served me well for many years. I could have rated this a 5 based on suction power alone, it rocks. But the on/off switch is on the side of the machine, up too high, a foot pedal which has to be pushed 'just so' or it will never turn on. It also seem to have a high center of gravity, it tips over too much while the tools are being used. The cord is a good long length but when you're done using it it's difficult to wrap the cord. There's a little clip thing in the way.

This vacuum is a fairly bare-bones unit. Like many lower cost units it has a rather short hose so you may have a hard time reaching areas. Also, the head of the vacuum continues to spin even when in the upright position.

It does have a nice sturdy feel and a powerful suction.

10 REASONS TO BUY THIS VACUUM (in no particular order):
1) the price is great - I can't stand spending a lot of money on anything
2) picks up dog hair and cat hair with the greatest of ease (I have three different long-haired dogs)...I live in the desert, so I needed something that could keep up with year-round shedding
3) very light-weight...you won't feel strained using this one
4) it automatically shuts down to prevent damage by over-heating (this was useful when I accidentally sucked up an extenstion cord)
5) extremely easy to assemble (I didn't even need the directions)
6) detailed directions - I didn't need them for assembly, but they tell you how and when you should change the filters (only twice a year at most, so you save money on filters)
7) can get suck up dirt from the very edge of furniture, such as dressers, shelves, where-the-wall-meets-the-carpet grooves, etc...(the only time you need the hose extension is for the really hard to reach places)
8) reasonably quiet - vacuums are always going to make some noise, but this one is quiet enough to use when the kiddiewinks are taking a nap
9) wide range of settings from high pile to bare floor (and it worked very well on my tile - didn't scatter the dirt like other brands)
10) this was the most important reason for me - it actually sucked up my husband's hair off the floor...all other brands just left little hair balls that I had to pick up by hand.

I only wish the cord was longer, but with everything I'm getting for $60, I could care less about changing sockets between rooms.

My husband and I didn't like the Vacuum or the Stick Vac. Stick Vac (on carpeted staircase) does not pick up any dust. I used Eureka 2924AS Contour to vacuum my carpet and it didn't work either. I don't have the packaging else I would have returned it.

I rarely use the bigger one.

I love both of these Vacuums!! They work so good and pick up everything. So far I only used the Stick Vac on the wood floor but it is great. I don't regret getting this! If you need a new Vacuum this is a great one to buy. If you are sick of your dusting cloth leaveing some dust on things you just finished the Duster on here really work good also.
