I use only Eureka products in my cleaning business, and I have had nothing but good luck with this vacuum. I use it every day, 3-4 times per day. I buy a new one every year. For the price, you cannot beat the cleaning ease, and the hard case keeps the dust inside. If you keep up on maintenance (belts, bags, cleaning it out occasionally), you should have no problems with it.

I'm really puzzled by all the negative comments about this vacuum cleaner. I bought mine two years ago, it never made strange noises, it sucks up the dirt, and it can accept high filtration bags. The tools are easy to use and are in handy locations. What more could you want? What's more, I paid only $50 for it on sale. Sure, it's not one of those cleaners that can pick up one-inch steel balls, but I didn't pay for that! Plus, I'm not sure I would want that. I often find coins on the floor, and I'd just as soon pick them up by hand. One the other hand, I want a vaccuum cleaner that can pick up dust, fireplace ash and baking soda that I put down. It does that.

I have had it for about 5 year now and love it! I love vacuums so much and this one. It is nosy but POWERFUL. The Bag is veay good with dust. I love Eurka vacuum so much and are POWERFUL.

Suction is not enough and too noisy. I still use my 7 yr old bag vacuum over this.

Good value cleaner if you need a carpet vacuum.
Plusses: PRICE, Good suction and cleaning on mid length and short carpeting. Accessories store on board cleaner very nicely. Bags are very clean as opposed to the bagless models.
Minuses: A little cumbersome. If you have a LOT of carpet to clean this may tire you out a bit. Cord not self storing, and seems a little short.

The bonus cleaner is OK and real good for stairs and around the litterbox when you don't want to drag out the big cleaner. Also good for Automobile floors.

My cleaning lady recommended this vac. and it's great.
Very powerful and can't beat the price, including the Free Handvac.

Only problem is the headlight on the upright, light is too low.

This is a horrible vaccum. Avoid at all costs. It won't pick up anything unless you use the hose. Extremely dissapointed in this "product." Had to buy another vaccum a month later this one was so bad... and it blows this thing away. ...

I spent more years selling cleaners than I care to admit. (20) I was a rep for Hoover, so, I've been around the block. This cleaner sells at a retail level for [$$$]. It cleans very well and the filtration is magnificant. East to use, clean and exceptionally quiet. I've recomended it to friends...and yes, they're still friends :)

I have only used this vaccume 3-4 times but on carpet and hard wood floors and it seems to work fine. I also bought it NEW not USED so that might make a difference.

A cheap vacuum. Spend more and get a better quality vacuum that will last longer. This one is awkward, cumbersome, and loud. It cleans decently after you adjust the high-low knob according to the floor/carpet you have, but there are better vacuums around. Mine lasted over a year, but now I have the same problem as others who posted here. I think the motor is shot. Now, it shakes, is LOUD, and smells like something is burning.

This is a really, REALLY good vacuum for about a year, maybe two, depending on how heavily you use it. I clean homes and it performs fantastically in professional use. The suction is great, picks up almost everything, (I would NOT recommend pennies though) and side and front edging is much better than more expensive vacuums; wiggle the edge at your baseboard and bugs and debris stuck at the edge of the carpet suck right up.

However....over time, with a few times of inadvertently picking up metal debris or small pebbles, the plastic blades of the motor fan become warped, and eventually the motor begins to jam, ultimately making dire noises and seizing up altogether in frightening smells and sounds. Now, bear in mind I do use it for my work, and ungodly things are on people's carpets that I don't see until it's too late, so this may never necessarily happen in normal domestic use, with due care to not try to vacuum up metal or other hard objects. But the motor does seem to get louder with age and, as I've experienced, eventually it takes very little to make it self-destruct after a year or so of wear and tear.

Great cleaner for a small apartment or similar spaces. Lots of suction power, and lots of attachments for those tight, hard to get to areas. The only drawbacks might be the loudness (think of a dentist's drill multiplied by 20), and the rather delicate design which seems to consist of nearly all plastic parts. No problems so far, and I've had mine for three years, which in my opinion, makes it well worth the cost.
