What can I say - You have to have this to make the machine work. Rinses well, takes a while to dry. Buy it a Home Depot cheaper....

The filter for my Hoover Floormate was getting dirtier and dirtier. I had washed them many times but it was time to get a new one. Imagine my surprise that the stores did not carry that particular filter. After numerous phone calls I decided to check the net. I found them here at Amazon, great price, fast service!

Very Flexable, but very soft. If dryer type hose is what your application calls for, this is the stuff for you...

If I had this purchase to do over again I would have invested in better quality hose. This stuff is VERY flexible and it collapses with ANY amout of vacumm resistance. Because of this the inside surface is rougher and more resistant to airflow. I'd say it's great for applications where you need mobility because it's so flexible, but a poor choice for permanent connections to your machines.

This was not what I expected when I purchased it. It is very flexible and I was thinking it would be more like a shop vac hose but it is more like dryer vent hose that came collapsed (like a slinky) in a 4 foot box.

Well, for what I paid, what did I expect. I was comparing this price to suppliers charging much more and was excited to find it at this price.

I am using it, though, and it is actually good quality, very sturdy, and well made for a hose of this type. It has a nice heavy wire that keeps the sides from collapsing. What happens, though, is that when the dust collector is turned on the hose shortens with the suction which pulls on the tool which you have it attached. On the table saw the hose shortens up and can obstruct my cutting path so I have to be sure that I have the it routed in a way to prevent this from happening.

I may change the hose out at some point but for now it is working. I just installed the dust collector and I am sure I will be making several changes on my installation over time.

But the delivery was quick, the quality is good, and the price was right so I am still giving it 4 stars.

This model wasn't a good choice for me.
I didn't want a bigger capacity model but I can certainly use more power!
The included accessories also are very limited.

I have not been too happy with this vacuum. It works, but the filter is a 3-piece set (sponge, cloth, ring) and the ring keeps falling off, blowing dust everywhere.

The hose is easily clogged because it gets smaller at a fitting just before going into the tank.

The power switch doesn't seem like it will last very long on my model. And my last compliant, it doesn't come with a crevice tool, which is what I usually use, so I had to buy one. Isn't that what most people use? (maybe it's just me..)

Product was not as powerful as I had hoped.

I love the compactness and quietness and it seems you give up a little to get a lot in this vacuum. I miss the powerhead as sometimes it doesn't do the job on carpets as well as I like.
But all in all, it's fantastic and I'm buying another one for our downstairs only because I don't like hauling it up and down the stairs. Not because of the weight (it's light!) but because of the invconvenience!!

My husband is a contractor, I am an artist--we have a heck of a lot of tools so it's really a delight to come across this vacuum that is extremely well designed. This actually makes vacuuming fun! Quiet motor (although air suction makes some racket), great suction, easy to change attachments, motor speed control, 2 places to control suction which runs the beaters, doesn't tip over. I think the telescoping wand is plenty long and I am 6' tall. Tools snap securely in handle, lightweight, easy carry and pivoting head makes getting under furniture a breeze. I have not had problems with unwanted cord retraction. Bags ARE small, but I'd rather get rid of dog hair, fleas and flea eggs quickly. Ordering bags can be a drawback in a pinch. As with most canisters, best for bare floors, low pile and areas other than the floor. All in all, efficient and easy to operate, good power. But only time will tell on durability. My advice is to buy refurbished. Same 2 year warranty at nearly half the price and mine looked brand new.
I don't normally review products but I was particularly impressed with this item. I'd echo other reviews, if you have severe allergies, want an electric beaters or have mostly carpet--go for an upright. But if you want a canister, and can't afford the top end model of this series (approx $600-700) this is the vacuum I'd reccomend.

Dustbuster that runs on my 18V batteries....hard to beat for convenience. Good battery life and pretty good suction, but it is a little noisy. It comes with one XRP 18V battery which is about $60 so the cost of the vac is $70 or so. Was great to use in my attic rather than dragging out the big shop vac. I tried and returned the 2 gallon vac. This one has about the same suction and is cheaper and smaller. Hose detaches for cleaning in corners etc.

To sum it up, works great!
Not as noisy as I thought it would be

Despite the noise I really like this vac. Let's face all shop vacs are noisy so don't complain about it. It has sucked up spare change from my truck, saw dust from my jobsites,spilt screws from the back of my truck, etc. I think it works better than I expected. Very useful for my line of work. It is not a big corded vac, if you need a big corded do not buy this, if you need a handy small vac that is good for quick clean up's in outlet poor area's this is the tool for you. P.S. I have even rigged it up to the dust collection port on my chop saw...worked great.

We bought one for Christmas and love the food sealer. We also bought this kit. We loved everything EXCEPT the canisters. All the canisters have cracked. So far, still holding the seal, but they are getting progressively worse, so it's just a matter of time. These aren't exactly cheap, so I think it's safe to say that we should expect bettter. If you read the review for the 3-piece canister set, you will see extensive complaints about the cannisters.

Just check the Product Descriptions for the $49.95 Completer Set and the Deluxe Completer Set for $79,95, and you will find that they are exactly the same list of products. So you get nothing extra for the extra $30. Are they crazy???

Motor burned out after a few light uses - plain old junk!

I had this for several years until the water tank cracked and I decided mayber it was time to just get a new carpet shampooer. I thought the Dirt Devil did a decent enough job for the price, until I decided to try the Hoover Steamvac 5914 (which costs about the same when on sale) to see how it worked, and let me tell you - there is no comparison. The Hoover Steamvac 5914, works much better - lifting and cleaning matted down carpet that the dirt devil couldn't touch. I had been using the dirt devil carpet extractor regularly for the past 5 years, but my carpets were still looking old and worn - the dirt devil just doesn't do a very good job of getting into the fibers, or of sucking all the water out afterwards. After using the Hoover only 2 times, my 10 year old carpets look almost like new again. So my advice is, pass on the dirt devil and get the hoover - you won't regret it.

This carpet scrubber is worth alot more cash than what I have invested in it. I have used the $300.00 Hoovers, they cannot compare to the value and the job that the Dirt Devil does. Very happy so far.
