too much money, and not that great
Good but not quite as advertisedThe manufacturer states that after Roomba has completed its "mission" or the battery is running low, it will automatically seek the home base to recharge. However, after its "mission" is completed it simply stops and emits plaintive signals until it is turned off. On the other hand, when the battery is running low, it does attempt to return to the base but not always successfully since it moves about randomly and may exhaust its battery before the base is found. It is otherwise a good product and a great convenience.
90% accurate and a 3 hour charger, Well worth it....When Roomba is getting low it WILL seek out its home base. You do however need to place the base in the middle of the cleaning area with plenty of visiblity. If this is done, Roomba will find its way home. This feature is also nice because it will charge the Red in 3 hours instead of 7.
If you have an L shape floor, well that is what the virtual wall is for. For example, you clean one area (living room, Dining room) and then you do the other area (Family room, Kitchen). Not to tough to figure out.

V2440 Food SaverThis is easy!! The price and automatic features came together in a serenditous combination! Great machine, and a good move up for me. I replaced an older, manual model. This has the features that matched the way I work, without giving me built-in features I have no need for.
My one complaint is that it did not come with a set of jar sealers, which I use to store grated cheese or cut onions.

Food SaverThis is a wonderful product. We have only had it for a short time, however; we have already seen a savings in our food bill. That is something I think everyone can relate too. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Awesome! This machine is wonderful. We have food in our freezer that is so fresh it looks fresh in the bag. I love using this with the canisters also it keeps leftovers fresh a lot longer than regular storage containers. The Foodsaver is exactly what they presented. We love it!

It does nothing to my berber carpet...It does nothing that I can see except leave a pleasant scent. I scrub it in with a firm bristle brush, wait 30 minutes, vacuum with my Dyson, and my carpet still looks the same. It is only 2 years old so it isn't an old carpet. It might work on carpets that are more of a "pile" but not berber. I gave 2 stars just for scent alone.
Ok, but not sure what it really does...I purchased the dyson pet and it works amazing wonders on pet hair, but so does the $50.00 version from K-Mart. I'm not really sure what the zorb does besides smelling clean for about 5 minutes!
Makes the place smell cleanI love the way this makes our house smell. It also seems to pick the carpet up abit from the walk-down syndrome. However, this only lasts a few days before it is back to looking the same way again.

Go with the Brand Name!Over the years, I have had many vacuums that took bags for dust and dirt collection. Now most vacuums have dust cups. My little hand-held Dirt Devil Vac still is going strong...and I insist on buying genuine Dirt Devil Bags. They fit properly and no cloud of dust, as with the knock-off brands....yes, I did try that once. Live and Learn. Someday when this one wears out, I will purchase the Dirt Devil hand-held with the dust cup...but for now...it's still going strong...and I always buy the Dirt Devil Bags.

Reliability is the IssueUnfortunately, I've ordered more than my share of FoodSaver products, having bought into the philosophy of vacuum storage, despite reading ample warnings from discontented consumers.
What many of them claim is very much to the point: plastic containers frequently develop cracks and loss of vacuum. I've had many of their marinators and storage canisters prove defective after less than 10 uses. It seems to be related to the material properties and container size characteristics. The smaller containers seem to last longer. Those with thick walls relative to the specified volume or reinforcing structures seem to last just a bit longer.
In plain language, the plastic containers are unreliable. FoodSaver should develop materials and designs that can handle the stress of the vacuum cycling placed on them, or quit the the business. Since their products have been on the market for many years, I can only assume they are more interested in recruiting new customers than satisfying existing customers. If you like filling out warranty forms every few weeks, more power to you.
Bottle sealers are equally worthless. Every one that I bought lost vacuum in short order. In one case, a defective seal resulted in a spill of cooking oil that damaged a nylon tent and other camping gear.
FoodSaver has done a good job with certain items in their product line. The vacuum unit is well designed and performs reliably, as long as the instuctions are followed. The bagging system is unassailable, even though the cost of the bags and rolls is quite high (read Consumer Reports reviews). And, to be fair, their Universal lids are excellent. Use them to seal small glass jars or stainless steel bowls, and there is no loss of vacuum due to cracked plastic.
Bottom line? Be careful which products you buy. Some are excellent, while others are pure junk.

Helpful toolOnly one person in this house drinks red wine so this item really helps keep the red wine tasting great to the last glass!
One of my favoritesI am appreciative of the ability to save space in my freezer and prevent freezer burn, but as a wine enthusiast -- these stoppers are one of my favorites. I've been using the manual pump stoppers and there is no comparison. These provide a tighter seal and do not lose the vacuum as easily. FoodSaver suggests that you store the bottles upright to keep the vacuum.
I usually have two or three bottles open at time and I obviously can't drink them fast enough before they go bad. These stoppers are a lifesaver! They do not come with an accessory hose, so if you do not have one, you will need to purchase one.
I highly recommed these to everyone with a FoodSaver.

Where do I start...I purchased this unit a few weeks ago, and it's been trouble ever since. I think I managed to get one decent cup of coffee out of it, but not as good as my old fashioned percolator.
I read all of the instructions, I read the tips, especially regarding using a coarse grind, but 90% of the times I used this, the coffee would stay in the top vessel for hours. Of course, with the great vacuum created, there was no way to separate the two pieces until the pressure equalized, leaving a top-heavy, unstable vacuum inside cheap, thin glass; a disaster waiting to happen.
Well, it finally happened. After attempting yet again to get a cup of coffe out of this thing, using the coarsest grind I could find, the liquid again remained "stuck" in the upper vessel. So I left it to cool, thinking it would eventually equalize on its own. After about 1-1/2 hours, all but about 10-15% of the liquid had moved to the bottom vessel. Since I had already used my electric drip machine to get my morning coffe and I did not want to be late for work, I decided to go about my morning rituals.
While in the shower, I heard a loud noise from the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen, I was horrified to see coffee and glass EVERYWHERE. Coffe dripping from the range hood, splattered on walls, ceiling, cabinets, and appliances over 5 feet away, and glass shrapnel in other rooms over 8 feet away. I can only be thankful nobody was in the room when this happened.
Since not evan I could believe what I was looking at while I was actually looking at it, I decided to take a few pictures. I will be making these available for all to see in the near future. I will attempt to include a link in a future review.
So now I have to spend most of the day, missing work, cleaning this abominable mess. Oh, by the way, coffee stains so I'll probalby have to re-paint the kitchen.
If you buy this product, I would highly recommend the following accessories:
1 - A good HMO (just in case)
2 - Safety goggles as a minimum precaution
3 - A "frequent flyer" card from your favorite local coffee house, where you should be able to get a decent cup.

Great Tasting Coffee!Because this coffeemaker was unavailable for a while I was waiting for it with some anticipation. My patience was well rewarded with some fine tasting cups of coffee!
It does take a little longer to make coffee than my Mr Coffee machine. The cleanup is a little longer, too. But the difference in taste is worth it. There are limits on the advantages of convenience...
However it is important to use a coarse grind of coffee. If the grind is too fine, or if the grind includes too much "dust" then the filter will clog. The coffee then never makes the trip down the tube and just sort of sits there, betwixt and between. So just remember to use the right grind and you will be very happy with your Bodum Santos.
I also use a Cory glass filter rod instead of the plastic filter included with the Bodum Santos. The plastic one works just fine but the glass filter looks so cool. (The caveat about coarse grind applies to the glass filter rod as well.)
Try it! You'll like it!

in defenseI've been an Amazon customer for quite a few years, but I haven't before felt the need to review a product. This time, I felt like I had to defend this from other reviewers.
Before I bought this coffeemaker here I read great reviews on wholelattelove.com. But here on Amazon, it's plagued with a few bad reviews. People have said their coffee pot has cracked, other pieces have broken, etc. The instructions included clearly state that some care needs to be taken- you are putting glass on a very hot surface. If you're not careful, it will crack. But that's true of all glass - it's not a design flaw in this product. In fact, the bottom globe was thicker and sturdier than I was expecting. It looks more fragile in the pictures than it actually is. It seems some people can't follow directions, and they want to blame anybody but themselves.
Yes, when it's ready to be taken off the stove, all the water is in the top globe, so it's a little top heavy. Have some common sense.
And a couple people seem to be giving this product a bad review because of bad service they've received from Amazon. This isn't the place to complain that Bizrate had items mixed up, or that Amazon sent you a used product. Again, common sense...
This thing makes GREAT coffee - every bit as good as a french press, and with less sediment. I've used it everyday for two months, and haven't had a single problem. I think it's fantastic, and I haven't regretted buying it for a second.

It is good for what it isEasy to assemble and use. If you have only a few area rugs in your home, I think you would be satisfied with this product. If you have many area rugs or larger ones or especially, if you have carpeting, you should buy a larger unit with rotating brushes and a larger water storage capacity. I like mine a lot for ease of use and cleaning our few area rugs.
Works well; worth every penny. From the initial appearance I doubted its ability, but it proved me wrong. Despite the light weight it sucks up a disgustingly impressive amount of dirt.
A Quality Steamer For A PittanceI purchased this Bissel QuickSteamer about six weeks ago. I purchased it specifically due to our incontinent beagle. I have used the big $400 carpet cleaners before, and while this little Bissel is not in the same league, it still is a very good cleaner. And worth much more than its meager $55 price tag.
It is light, easy to use, and even comes with a bottle of carpet shampoo. You fill the little container up with hot water, add some cleaner, slap it into the steamer body and you're ready to clean up your carpet. Just squeeze the trigger on the handle to squirt out the cleaner and let it go for it to be kind of sucked back into the steamer.
Now if you have a massive 3,000 square foot house then obviously this steamer is not for you. But for working in smaller carpeted areas and rooms, this is perfect. If you want to clean an entire room's carpet extremely well, you may have to re-fill the water/shampoo cannister once or twice. But the re-fill process is quick and the emptying of the dirty water only takes a moment, so this really isn't a problem at all. This steamer isn't designed for huge jobs.
The only problem I've ran into is that if you do not fill up the cannister to the "fill line" when you begin your cleaning, the trigger button may not work. I looked at the troubleshooting on the Bissel website and it says that the steamer functions on a "gravity process" or something of that nature, and that the steamer needs filled completely to get the whole gravity thing going. So, when you start make sure its filled completely.
Anyways, for the super-low price and the steamer's excellent performance, I can't imagine that you could find a better machine for a better price. This is an excellent product that I'd highly recommend to anyone.

So, this is how the restaurants do it!As a reluctant cook who loves good food, this is a major discovery. Moreover, judging from the three tries I've had at it so far (meat, fish, chicken), it lives up to its hype. The flavors of the marinade not only are suffused throughout the fibers of the meat, but they're peaked. That is, powder spices that usually go barely noticed, assert their presence like never before. What's more, the moisty succulence is something I've tried to achieve for a long time. Anyone who is not getting these results might not be doing the vacuum part right.
In my anxiety to try new marinade ingredients, it's likely that frozen dinners will become a thing of the past.
In my anxiety to try new marinade ingredients, it's likely that frozen dinners will become a thing of the past.
Brilliant!!!!The best home cooked meat I've ever had. In fact, if it weren't for my poor presentation skills, I'd rate my recent experiments among those from the best restaurants. Really, really good. One warning though...use the vac times that they suggest. I ran some pork chops through 3 20 minute cycles. The meat was totally disguized by the marinade. So, listen to the directions, don't buy their overpriced spices, and enjoy chicken again...or for the first time. Great product.
You have to "babysit" roomba anyway. Sometimes his back cover falls off and you have to put it back on (very annoying, why won't it stay on?) Roomba can also get stuck in places or pick up something you forgot to get out of the way and run until the motor burns out (at least they gave me a replacement)
So it just isn't worth the money. I just bend over and plug it in myself and saved the 50 bucks.
