Vacuums Review Amazing!
You really don't know how poor of a job your current vacuum is doing until you go over the exact same areas with the Dyson DC07. It doesnt matter if its hardwood floors, or plush carpet, it is amazing what thiis vacuum can do. I am even surprised that it is quieter than most conventional vacuums. *Not really quiet, but the sound is different and not anywhere near as annoying.

$$$ but, you get what you pay for.

Vacuums Review Dyson Vacuum-AWESOME SWEEPER
The Dyson is worth every penny that it cost. It has the most suction of any vacuum I have ever had. Although the controls are not labeled on the vacuum, the book is very descriptive and detailed. Once you learn what every thing is for, it is easy to operate. The tools are very easy to store, and it is very easy to use to clean steps. I was truly amazed at how dirty my house was and how much my old sweeper was missing.

Vacuums Review Best $$ spent on this item
I was skeptical when purchasing the Dyson. I have only seen commercials about this new item. Upon receiving the product, putting it together was very simple, 5 minutes at most. The suction power on the vaccuum is superb; it picked up stuff I didn't know was even in the carpet. My previous vacuum was a pretty expensive Hoover and the Dyson kicked the Hoover out of the house. There was almost 2" of dirt and dust picked up by the Dyson. For anyone who has any doubts, mine were eased!! A great buy indeed!!

Vacuums Review Been through 3 of these in a year's time
This little sweeper works so great in the beginning. My first 2 worked great and then the battery wouldn't hold a charge. After a month each, I couldn't get the sweeper to run for more than a minute before the battery would die, and that was on a full charge. This 3rd and final sweeper motor died after 5 months, I turn it on and I can hear a low wurring sound, but not the roller won't budge and the roller is completely clean.

Vacuums Review Decent for small pickups
Good enough for small jobs. My three-year old can operate it with ease. It is not powerful enough to replace a good broom or swiffer. Great for nightly under-the-table sweep-ups but not much else.

Vacuums Review Lightweight and Efficient
It is so light that I had my doubts about its cleaning ability, but was surprised how much it picked up. The cleaning unit is slim enough to go under the sofa, etc. The dust container is handy-pull it out and dump the debris. It claims to able to pick up nuts and bolts, but I haven't had to do that ... and hope not to test it on such. It has a rechargeable ni-cad battery that has a 30 minute use time. I recommend this highly over the heavy and cumbersome Rival Dirt Devil Broom Vac. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Vacuums Review Finally...well-spent money paid for a vacuum
Excellent product as far as suction on carpet. I first considered the DC15 but did not care for it when trying it out at our local Sears. Something I highly recommend every one do. Try it out first! We ended up deciding on the DC14. I did not find it as heavy as others seem to state. My '04 Bissel it was replacing was much heavier and was terrible. Oh sure some things could be changed about the Dyson. I would tend to accidently hit the on/off button while trying to move the vacuum while using the hose. Cord management should be improved but the cord length is great. I wish it was a lower profile unit (without having to buy an extra attachment). This may have been mentioned, but I was told that all the DC14 units are the same. The only difference is what extra attachments come with it (oh and of course the color). So I first considered buying the 'animal' version because, well, I own a pet. I thought the animal version had more suction and was designed to pick up pet hair and dander better. But they are the same unit and one is not better at picking up hair than the other. So, I got the standard all-floor unit and will buy the other attachements if I feel I need them. I am so glad I did not pay $125 for another wimpy vacuum. Finally, I have purchased something worth the money or maybe it's even a bargain at that price.

Vacuums Review BUY !! The DC14 is best "all around" buy!
I researched other units for 2 weeks+, engineer background who over-analyzes everything, and this vacuum won me over...got it on sale (phew!) for just over $350 and am now glad I spent the $$. After many Eureka's (in the $120 price range) and 1 very heavy Hoover (never get one again), this Dyson blew me away! Dyson is GREAT for cat hair, has smooth transitions from hardwoods to area rugs / rooms with carpet. For the cheap, thin rug by the door, just turn the knob to hard floors so it doesn't suck up the rug! Best Features worth mentioning - 1) it's QUIET! I never realized how loud other vacuums were, until the Dyson. You can put kids to bed and probably get away with running this vacuum! 2)love the "quick release" of the hose and the 3 standard attachments do all common cleaning - I use it to reach corners, behind dressers, dust baseboards, dust ceiling light fixtures, etc. 3) very long power cord... 4) great power - had mine for 3 months, and it's great. I think I love this thing! The carpet pile has actually re-lifted, and I can see tracks again!

Cautions to be aware of: 1)if you're used to bags, frequent emptying of the cup is annoying, but easy to do and worth it for the power 2)it could be heavy to carry upstairs, but rolls really easy and smooth, like it's lighter than it is! If you go into it knowing these things, it's not a problem!

You will like this vacuum!

Vacuums Review Hello Dyson!!
Sooo, my Hoover died yesterday and I unexpectedly found myself in the market for a new vacuum, again. I had been researching online and decided on a Bissell lift-off since my biggest struggle has always been the stairs. I got to the store and found they were out. The fellow asked me why I was so interested in that particular model anyway so I responded with the stair requirement as well as my allergies to both types of dustmites. He proceeded to tell me about the Dyson. I was concerned about the expense since it was twice as much as the Bissell I was looking at, then I found out the price of the replacement filters, $30 a pop. I couldn't tell from the forums where I had researched the vacuum since it's rarely in Canadian dollars and here I was in a store that sold them. At that price it certainly wouldn't take long until the two cost me the same anyway. So I brought home the Dyson.
There have been some complaints with the Dyson and I think it's all about perspective. For instance I'm 5'5" and to some that's tall for a girl, in my family, I'm a midget. I have no trouble handling the Dyson and not only am I short, I'm a notorious wimp. The Dyson is actually lighter than my Hoover and the Hoover had just as much trouble getting under things. The light on the Hoover didn't do anything for me either. I'd recommend that if getting under things is important, get one of those little swiffer carpet cleaner things since you're not that likely to find a lot of ground in dirt or stir up dust in those locations anyway and use the hand tool every so often to get it done well. (or if you're small like me just crawl under and breathe deeply, jk)

My favorite things:
- the wandy thing; not only is it cool, it does an excellent job on the stairs, no more lifting the vacuum with me because of the long hose which I found easy to use. On the bottom stairs though it wanted to follow me so it was a bit wierd at first but once you're higher up and the vacuum is against the bottom, I had no trouble with the hose and stretching it to where I needed it. I also had no trouble with it on the second and third set of stairs either. It was so easy I was doing all the baseboards too just for fun. It's also cool that the roller turns off when you're using it, we did a nice job of destroying the lino with the old one when we were doing the stairs.
- suction! non stop! it picked up a ton of the fine dust my other vacuum missed the day before as well as some dog hair. We bought the house from the dog owners a year ago and the steam clean and regular vacuming had failed to get these renegade leftovers. The fine dust from the different rooms (since of course you don't have to dump as often as my old one) kinda reminded me of those jars with layered colored sand, there was SO much!
- cleaning; with my allergies to dust the old vacuum may have had allergen filtration, but that doesn't protect me when I'm wacking the filter against the side of the house and getting the canister out to dump it, both of which had to be done everytime I vacuumed. The spring loaded canister dumping mechanism is brilliant! No more stuffiness/tiredness after cleaning day from the allergies. The hepa filter looks easy to clean too so I almost can't wait the several months it will take until it's time to clean it.
- detachable parts for clog killing; my old vacuum would get clogged ALL the time, we'd have to take parts of it apart with 2 different screwdrivers and then stab it with a coat hanger in all kinds of wierd angles to declog it. Vacuums will get clogged, especially if you live with furry friends so it's nice to know that when it happens, it's super easy to get where you need to be to clear the obstructions. I didn't even have to read the manual to find this handy parts.
- the little edge brushes; obviously this is not as good as going around with the wand for when you want to do a deeper clean but it certainly does a good enough job so that you have the luxury of not having to use attachments EVERY time like most vacuums I've used. It also doesn't seem to attack my bed skirt as violently as others have.
- auto shutoff when the motor gets hot; this is especially good considering that's what killed my Hoover yesterday

Bye bye Hoover, Hello Dyson!!

Vacuums Review One weak point
I was very happy with this product for awhile. All the good things other reviewers say are true. But it has one weak point. There is a removable plastic straw that transports liquid from the thermos to the permanent straw that you drink from. After about 25 uses, this straw developed a crack in it, and now when the thermos is down to about 1/3 full, I get mostly air when I sip. What a disappointment in an otherwise great product!

Vacuums Review Very Impressed
This does what it says. It keeps my ice water cold (there is still ice in it over 12 hours later). And as a bonus it makes me be better about drinking water throughout the day. I also like the shape of it, which is sort of irrelevant, but every little bit helps!

Vacuums Review A great product!!
I was a little hesitant to spend so much on a water bottle, but this one was well worth it! I bought it because I read all the great reviews and thought I would give it a shot. I spend most of my day travelling around so it is so refreshing to have your water cold! I love it. It does not spill when tossled around in my large bag, and has an easy convenient straw. The only down fall for me is that I travel so much around town, it just isn't enough water to get me through an eight hour shift. But I sure love having cool refreshing water, and carry it with me throughout the house.

Vacuums Review TOOL ADAPTOR
THIS IS THE BEST, AND PROBABLY THE ONLY TOOL ADAPTOR OUT THERE. I HAVE A SHOP VAC THAT HAS 2 DIFFERENT SIZED HOSES THAT DID NOT FIT THE EXHAUST ON MY SANDER, THE COMPANY DID NOT MAKE AN ADAPTOR TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM, SO I FOUND THE ADAPTOR AT MY LOCAL HARDWARE STORE, CUT IT TO FIT THE SANDER, AND PLACED IT ON MY SHOP VAC HOSE. THE HOSE NOW STAYS ON THE SANDER FOR ALL DIFFERENT TYPES/HEIGHTS OF SANDING. THIS TOOL SOLVED A MAJOR PROBLEM OF KEEPING THE DUST IN MY WORK AREA DOWN. THIS ADAPTOR IS A MUST FOR EVERY OWNER OF A SANDER, ROUTER, PLANER, OR ANY OTHER PORTABLE POWER TOOL THAT GENERATES SOME TYPE OF DUST.

Vacuums Review You won't get hosed on this one
I have used a couple of these devices to connect the dust port on tools to vacume hose. Funny how there are standard sizes of dust collection and vacume hoses, but every tool seems to have a dust collection port that is in some odd size. Nothing fits. This adaptor gets in between the odd sizes of tools and standard size of hose. You can easily trim this adaptor to fit either an inside diameter or outside diameter of the adaptor. Like I have said before, it does what it says it will do.

Vacuums Review adaptor
I expected it to be a larger diamater, but it will work fine on my sander port. I must have missed the noted size when I ordered it.

Vacuums Review Useful piece of rubber
I use this stepped rubber tube often between a Ridgid 6" R/O sander and the hose from my venerable Fein Turbo Two shop vac. Once inserted firmly in the vacuum adaptor provided by Ridgid the resulting tight seal makes for a very efficient dustless vacuum setup.

Unfortunately at times it seems a bit too efficient with the sander motion being constrained by the powerful suction of the Fein vac. I modified the step adaptor by drilling a half-inch hole in the exposed part that is between the sander and vac hose and the resulting "air leak" allows for a good balance of suction and sander mobility. The result is WAY better than sanding without a vacuum set-up. Would recommend.

Vacuums Review The only workable adaptor for diverse tools
I use several of these Fein step adaptors (drawing into either the 4" shop system or to one of my Porter-Cable vacuums). They provide a reliable friction fit into the dust tubes of every Bosch and Makita tool I own, and plenty of others as well. I have found that the Jet and other brands of step adaptor just aren't worth the effort: Poor fit means I have to tape them into place, which means that I've just dedicated a crummy little adaptor to one machine or portable tool. Nuts.

Until there's a law that all light machines and portable tools must have the same size TAPERED dust portal, I'll happily go on settling for this tapered fitting and skip the rest of the plastic.

Oh yeah. The Fein is also better made and more durable than its competitors -- vital for a piece of plastic that's always getting pulled out of one fit-up and jambed into another.

Vacuums Review don't waste your money
I bought the Dirt Devil Power Reach because it was advertised as having such versatile features along with a 6 amp motor. It was the worst vac I ever used! I purchased it specifically for vacuuming stairs and my car. The suction on the tools and hose attachments was great when I used it in my car. It worked well in all the crevices where dirt hides. However, when I switched to the revolving brush to clean the floor mats, it was useless. I guess I thought the revolving brush should actually revolve when in contact with carpet, but this isn't the case. Next I tried it on my carpeted stairs with the same disappointing results. The revolving brush stopped turning once it touched the carpet. The removable head is an interesting idea, however, the hose was too short to make this feature effective. I ended up dragging the whole unit around. I don't mind a bagless vacuum, but the dirt cup on this unit was clumsy to get on and off without spilling and the filter did not shake off easily. Needless to say, I returned it after one use.

Vacuums Review Does the job
Bought this model since it was offered with free shipping and I've previously owned Dirt Devil hand-vacs, which all lasted a long time before they died valiant deaths. I use it for hard to reach places with the nozzle or the hose and it works fine as long as it doesn't run for a long time -- then it gets a little too hot to handle. If you need it for small, tight jobs, this is a good buy. I miss the bags, though. Understand that the bagged models are going out of commission, which is sad. Emptying the cup can be messy, but the cup is very large on this model. One thing: the filter may be tricky to find when it's time to replace it. Dirt Devil's website shows it's out of stock (temporarily). Wish I knew that before I bought this model.....

Vacuums Review OK vacuum, but not much brush action.
This item works pretty well, but unlike other small, corded Dirt Devil vacuums, this one's power brush is operated by air instead of a belt causing it to be much less effective.

Vacuums Review I'm satisfied
The Dirt Devil Mop-n-Vac fits my needs. I broom sweep the floors before I use the Dirt Devil. The vacuum feature works well under cabinets, close up to molding and behind the toilets. I use the Dirt Devil floor cleaner that came with the unit. It doesn't take much liquid to clean the floors. I should have plenty for some time yet. Once I'm out, I plan to use Pine Sol.

As to the disposable mopping pads, I'm using the Chlorox Ready Mop Absorbent Mopping Pads. Once the floor is dry I switch to a Swifter dry sweeping cloth to get up anthing I missed. Between moppings I use the dry sweeping cloths and the vacuum feature for a quick clean-up. So far so good.

Vacuums Review So long swiffer!
I was shopping for a replacement for my dust buster and happened on this gem.

I have laminate floor in my kitchen and despise daily sweeping and swiffering. I thought this would solve my problem. After the inital wait for it to charge, I tried it out. I vacuumed my kitchen and then put on a pad and filled the tank with the included cleaner. I don't know if it was the cleaner, the pad, or the stable unit, but it cleaned crud off my floor. In the past, I would swiffer with the power one, but it was old enough not to have a scrub pad. I would have to scrape junk off the floor, and then come back and vacuum it again. NO more!!!!

It cleaned really well, and if I missed some crumbs, I just hit the vacuum switch for a quick pick up and then continued on mopping.

My Vac n' Mop came with 2 bottles of cleaner and some pads. I would definitely buy more of these because they work great, but it's nice to know I can put my own cleaner in the tank in a pinch. It also came with a little hand scrubber that also works great. I read the reviews and don't know if it will survive my house and my kids, but for now, I'm so glad not to be sweeping, swiffering, and scaping on a daily basis.

I'm happy with my purchase. If I can keep my son (he's 2) from running down the battery, it will come in very handy. He loves to vacuum and has already tried this out many times. I just plug it in when I'm done and it's ready to go again.

Vacuums Review Holding up to heavy use - A great item!
I've had this model for quite a while, maybe a year, or thereabouts. I have to say that for the price, and the convenience, this little thing is a wonder. Mine is kind of beat up, and parts are scotch taped on, and yet I use it daily. I have a dog and a cat, and I'm in and out of the garden with tracking - all the time. I can run this over hard wood floors, and some throw rugs even. It's no Dyson, but if you just want to tidy up for company, and you don't want to drag out the vacuum, this is it. I haven't seen any other products that let you wet mop and vacuum too.

Vacuums Review Good Product
This is a great container. It can be used for storage and as a marinator. This is excellent for keeping berries fresh. The canister is a clear plastic, which looks much better than the smoke-colored ones.

As a marinator, it produced very flavorful chicken, but I'm not sure if it was more flavorful than traditionally marinated.

I am giving this four stars instead of five because the canister is top-rack dishwasher safe, but the lids are not.

Vacuums Review still intact after 1 yr trouble free daily use.
Terrific canisters, I just ordered a few more. Some reviewers complain that they crack easily, but mine are holding up well after 1 year of daily use. Although not "dishwasher safe" my husband ran them through the dishwasher anyway(top shelf) without causing damage.
