Less Than Satisfactory
good sweeper-bad serviceThe Sweeper does an excellent job but....it died after 4-5 uses, I called customer service (India) and they gave me a step by step hocus pocus routine to "reactivate" the machine and assured me that would work after recharging for 24 hours. That didn't work, called again they said they would send a new battery...three weeks later no battery, called India again and was told the battery was on back order and it would be three more weeks....to be continued.....
Very happy with SharkIt really does the job, I have been using the Shark for over a year now and as long you maintain it, it will last, just anything else. Also the battery went bad the first six months, called customer service and they sent me another one FREE and FREE shipping.
All in All a very good product. Would recommend it.

Horrendous!!! Avoid!I purchased this product last week and have already returned it to BJs. What a waste of my time and money! For the past five years, I have used Eureka's "The Boss" Lite Cordless in my home filled with dog and cat fur, bird feathers, and messy husband and toddler syndromes. Unfortunately, it has finally worn out. Our floors are particularly bad in the spring with shedding and moulting pets, so this was a key time to test this product. It failed!
Unlike "The Boss" it failed to consistently pick up fur and was equally unable to pick up small items such as granola and feathers. I tried all of the various settings and the recommended multiple charges/discharges and vacuuming "pathways" to improve function. None of them worked.
Additionally, the product was awkward to use, especially when your surfaces change (playmats, linoleum, hardwoods, tile, carpets - we have it all), which caused the machine to jam and turn off. The receptacle filled quickly and dramatically reduced suction. The Shark was not as maneuverable as "The Boss" in tight spaces because of its size and shape. I had to give up on my stairs.
I had my old "Boss" for five years, as stated above. I'll be reordering another today. I've been very satisfied with it (our's is nicknamed "Miss Betty") and its been a champ with the copious amounts of dog fur in our house. Save your time and money - avoid the Shark and choose a different cordless sweeper!

Don't waste your moneyLuckily I bought this sweeper on sale with a coupon. Otherwise, I would be very upset. This product started out fine: it's cordless and did run well on both carpet and vinyl. But after maybe half a dozen times of using it, it would work for 30 seconds and then the battery would shut down. I had charged the battery fully, so I know it was full of juice when I started. I was just very disappointed with this and frustrated every time I had to use it. Plus, it was too wide to get in the tight spots on my floors and it wouldn't go right up to the edges. I bought a Swiffer Sweep + Vac and couldn't be happier with it. True, it doesn't work on carpet, but I just use my vaccuum cleaner for that anyway. It's much cheaper, cordless, and has a swivel head to get to those hard-to-reach places. I was not impressed with the Shark brand and probably won't by anything from them again.
Customer ServiceI have been satisfied with this product, however, customer service is the worst of any company I've ever dealt with. I ordered a replacement charger and it took over 3 months to receive it. I received a card from them about every 4 weeks repeatedly stating that "due to overwhelming demand the product is out of stock". The card didn't even state that it was from Euro-Pro or what I had ordered. I would never buy another product from this company again because of their customer service and looking at some of the other reviews, I am not alone.

Excellent Vacuum!Don't let the size of this small vacuum fool you -- this little model has the most suction I have ever seen in even a full-sized, top of the line canister model. It removed dust and ground-in dirt like I have never seen any vacuum do, and it brought the carpet nap right up.
This vacuum arrived safely and was well packaged to avoid damage in transit (I purchased the one sold by Amazon.com and not from one of the other merchants). I am very pleased with this purchase, and I know I will have this vacuum for my car, boat, and house for many years to come.
This particular 4.0 h.p. model comes with a number of accessories for detailing your car as well as for inflating air mattresses, etc. The vacuum also arrives with a document listing a number of additional accessories that can be purchased separately. By the way, it's worth purchasing the paper filters from Metro Vac instead of just using the cloth filter, so look into this too. (When you use the paper filter, that paper filter gets inserted inside the cloth filter to hold the paper filter in place).

Worked Well For About a Week... But... The coffee was perfectly hot, the milk completely frothed. A week or so later and although hot, the coffee isn't as hot, and the milk is barely frothed. I guess I should expect to pay much more than $200 to receive the features I wanted...
Pain in the neckI agree with everyone that this makes excellent coffee and froths milk terrifically....but the water leaks out like a sieve after 2 years. I have to take off all removable parts (the carafe, the water reservoir, the milk container, the drain thingee in 2 parts, the gold filter) everytime I make a new pot; turn the entire machine over and remove water that collects under the reservoir. Even after doing this....it still may leak when I brew a new pot!!! What a pain in the neck!! Capresso will repair it for $65.00...hmmmphhhhhhh. Might as well just buy a new machine.
Capresso good bad & the uglyGood: makes a great cup of joe in record time
Bad: the extra water in the tank leaks like a seive. Countless times all the water has leaked out over nite.
Ugly: Reset the clock and timer every morning. When timer kicks on b/4 the coffee makes, it screws up the clock.
I guess the good coffee outweighs the bad parts, but its still irritating

loud, but powerful thing SO FARI have only used it once, but it did a great job. It is very loud, nothing quiet about it, and emptying the cup isn't bad. We will see how it handles things i the future. So far it has been a great addition to my studio apt.
LITTLE VACUUM...BIG ON POWER!I HAVE TRAVERTINE FLOORING ALL THROUGHOUT MY HOUSE SO I NEED A VACUUM THAT DOESN'T "SPIT" EVERYTHING BACK OUT AT ME! I'VE HEARD OF DIFFERENT HARDWOOD FLOOR VACUUMS, BUT HAVEN'T MET A HAPPY CUSTOMER OF ONE YET! MY AUNT PURCHASED THIS DIRT DEVIL POWER STICK AND COULDN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT IT SO I THOUGHT I'D GIVE IT A TRY. I MUST SAY...WHAT AN AWESOME LITTLE VACUUM...I THINK I'M IN LOVE! THIS LIGHT WEIGHT VACUUM WILL SUCK UP ANYTHING IN IT'S PATH! YES IT'S LOUD, BUT SO IS A REGULAR SIZE VACUUM. AS A MATTER OF FACT I HAD A FRIEND OVER THE DAY IT WAS DELIVERED AND WHEN SHE SAW HOW AWESOME IT IS, SHE IMMEDIATELY ORDERED ONE THAT DAY. IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF A VACUUM FOR WOOD/TILE/TRAVERTINE/MARBLE FLOORING THAT REALLY WORKS, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM!!!!
Awesome VacI found the noise level to be about what I would expect to get from a regular vacuum. Contrary to other reviews this vacuum did pick up pet hair, small crumbs and lots of dirt. It also worked very well on my low pile rugs. I am thrilled with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a light vacuum for their hardwood floors.

Dont buyOur vacuum broke just after the one year warranty. And even before that we were unhappy. It's loud, bulky and doesnt work well on thick carpets. Dont believe Consumer Reports. Stay away from this piece of plastic garbage.
Too many belts, not worth it.I've had this vacuum for some time and bought it in part based on the reviews posted here. The vacuum was for the most part as advertised except that the floor/carpet switch hardly gets used. The Hose to Brush switch is useful but the hose accessories are poorly designed and fall off their holding bins. The vacuum has great suction and power but is somewhat noisy, not airplane runway but def not purring. Finally, I have to regularly buy new belts, the slightest snag and the belt tears slightly making it unusable. I have changed my rating to two stars, take your chances, maintaining this one is a bitch...
Does a good jobThis vacuum does a great job on carpets and hardwood floors. It gets up muddy paw prints (once dried) that my other vacuum wouldn't touch.

Satisfied with Dirt DevilThe Dirt Devil works great and is very handy to clean furniture. The rotating head cleans very deep and thorough.
Best hand-vac EVER!I have 2 large dogs (akita mix with 2 coats)who shed constantly so I needed a vacuum with lots of suction. But, I also have wooden floors so I didn't want to spend $300.00 just to vacuum a few area rugs and furniture. This product was perfect for me. It was powerful AND inexpensive. This little vacuum is amazing. It's easy to maneuver and operate. I love the fact that I can empty the canister immediately after use and with such ease. The attachments are easy to use, too, although I have to admit, I don't use them that often. I have bought this vacuum as gifts for family members and they are all as impressed with this product as I am. I would recommend this hand-vac to anyone who desires alot of power for little money. In fact, I have.
good productSeems pretty sturdy, like the the ease of emptying the dirt, good suction, not as loud as my old dirt devil with the bag

Bug Vacuum

Insect Aside model is the same, only $10 cheaper / battery eventually ends usefulnessFolks, this is the same thing as the Insect Aside model which sells for $10 cheaper, right down to the logo on the handle. The only difference is with the Brookstone model you pay $10 to Brookstone to be the middle man. Take a look at the Insect Aside and Brookstone pictures & specs and see for yourself:

Before I figured this out, I did buy the Brookstone model twice before as gifts so I'm pretty familiar with these. The upside on these vacuums is that they do work very well and whoever gets it will be happy for a while. The huge design flaw I want to warn everybody about, however, is that they run on Ni-Cad batteries that eventually go bad and you can't replace them, meaning your bug catcher is done. That's right, replacement batteries are not sold and they are not designed to be replaced, you have to buy a new bug catcher or go back to using your shoe to kill bugs. When this happens you can tak solace if you only spent $40 at Insect Aside rather than $50 at Brookstone.
Those familiar with Ni-Cad batteries will know that the best way to extend their life is to discharge them completely before recharging, but you try to explain to your wife why you discharged it and she has to wait 15 hours for it to recharge while there's a spider on her pillow. This would be a much much better product if it simply used alkaline batteries! I bought one for my bug-hating wife because I had to go out of town for a business trip. For such situations this vacuum is very ideal, so the vacuum serves a purpose. Just don't expect to buy one and have it last the rest of your life!

Unfortunately, the complaints about this product are absolutely correct - the battery is lousy. Almost from the moment the initial 24 hour charge was complete, the sweeper rarely had enough power to do more than one daily cleanup (which requires less than 5 minutes) without an overnight charge. Then, over time, the battery on the Shark takes less and less of a charge and within a surprising short amount of time it won't take a charge at all. So, when the first one stopped working, I bought a second one, and when it stopped working I bought the newer version, this product - the 13-inch, 3 speed model.
Even though I can afford to buy yet another one, I'm fighting the urge, because whether or not you can afford to buy another one should not be the issue. It's a defective product. People like me who keep buying a defective product only encourage manufacturers to keep on making them.
