Vacuums Review A very expensive dribble glass
I bought this mug about three weeks ago, despite the reviews I'd read which mentioned that it leaked. I decided to buy it anyway, because of the size and that every review mentioned how it kept cofee and food hot or cold, as desired. The latter is true: I used it every morning and on my 45 minute commute, the coffee stayed as hot as if I had just poured it. It also did not fit well in my car cup holder, a complaint I had also read in other reviews.

The reason I will no longer be using this mug for coffee is because on two different mornings I arrived at work with large brown coffee stains on my white shirt! Embarrassing to go out in public like that, and really inconvenient to return home to change clothes. I would hope that someone at Nissan is reading these reviews and will change the apparent design flaws in this otherwise great mug. I'm only going to be using it for baby food from now on.

Vacuums Review Great, long-lasting product
After getting fed up with cheap travel mugs (leaky tops, limited ability to keep coffee hot), I splurged on the Nissan mug several years ago. Hundreds and hundreds of commutes later, I can't say enough good things about it. The only days I'm disappointed are the ones I forget my Nissan mug at work and need to make due with a lesser mug. It is true that the base does not fit in most car drink-holders; not a problem for me, but could be a deal-breaker for some. Also, I don't use the sipper lid, so I can't speak for that. But if you're looking for a rugged, leak-proof container to transport your 15.9 oz of java and keep it hot for hours, you won't do much better than this item.

Vacuums Review can't leave well enough alone
I can't leave well enough alone so I cut the handle off my mug, cleaned up the edge, machined a steel caribiner flat and silver soldered it on. I also covered it with safety orange reflective tape and I can always find my mug. No one else would want it. It's been great for almost 10 years now.

As for the problem of the drinking lid becoming a dribble cup, I took the o-ring out of the lid and noticed one side is flat and the other is curved. The curved side is normally out but I found that if I flipped it over so the flat side is out it quit leaking.

Vacuums Review What? No knob? JET must kidding!
About a year ago, I bought a bumch of these when I bought my first dust collector. They were equipped with a screw knob that is used to hold the gate open.

Well, I just bought a new oscillating spindle sander, so I also bought a new blastgate. JET changed the design! They now use a bolt instead of a knob.

This change must be one of the dumbest ideas ever. The purpose of a blastgate is so that you can EASILY divert air flows. Changing to a 1/4" bolt makes it nearly impossible to open and clase the blastgates. If you have arthritis, you need to get a wrench to open the blastgate.

So, I replaced the bolt with a knob that I had lying around the shop.

Note that currently the picture shows the bolt but the item descriptions says there is a knob. The item decription is wrong.

Also, the sliding doors often get stuck. I'm not sure why this happens--probably a wood chip gets lodged in the track--but damn, is it annoying. Stopping work to disassemble a blast gate is a huge time waster.

Also, at $13 each, this is really expensive.

Vacuums Review Cost Way TOO Much

These are the same product and quality that you can buy from various sources, but these are 1/3 again as much!!

No matter whos' you buy expect to have to use some silicon to seal them up or they will leak mercilessly.

I hope this helps and, Good Luck with your own dreams!

The aluminum blast gates are just great.A little bit on the expensive side but worth the money.I'll just keep on buying two every other month.

Woodstock International H1053 4" x 20' Clear Hose

    Vacuums Review Misleading hose diameter
I am not sure if this is standard, but this 4" hose does not fit on my 4" diameter dust collector (Delta 50-830). The 4"diameter refers to the outer diamter, which is exactly the same as the 4" fittings on my machines and dust collector. The hose is reasonable quality (not as good as what came with the Delta machine), but seems as though it will not accordion up with suction. I guess I will have to get some quick disconnect fittings to try it out.

    Vacuums Review The Bottom Line
After reading the two previous reviews, I didn't know what to expect. I just purchased a Delta 50-850 Dust Collector from Tyler Tools and the Woodstock Int'l 4" x 20' Hose and several fittings from Highland Hardware. Both have excellent customer service. The Woodstock hose took me about 20 seconds to slide over the new Delta inlet fitting. It also fit over all the other new 4" fittings. The fit is very snug, and given a choice, I wouldn't change a thing. Over time the material will probably stretch slightly. I compared the Woodstock 4" hose with the Delta 4" hose section that came with the Delta 50-850. The Delta piece took me over a minute to install and is a little tricky. The Woodstock hose wall thickness is slightly less than the wall thickness of the Delta, yet the effort required to compress the two is about the same. The Delta hose has a hefty rubbery feel and the Woodstock hose has a plastic outer spiral around vinyl with a feel similar to Shop Vac hose. In use, I couldn't tell tell the difference between the two. With the clear hose I could see the stuff flying through which was about 5 minutes of good, clean fun. On the inside, the Woodstock inner wall has slightly less intrusion of the spiral wire which should yield slightly less obstruction opportunity. Bottom Line: I would choose the half as expensive Woodstock hose over the better Delta hose, as both are more than capable of performing the task of sucking.

Vacuums Review hose diameter fits all my machinery
This hose fits on the 4" inlets to my HF DC, Rikon BS and DW735 planer. I don't know what the other poster was complaining about (unless they have changed hose diameter). Quality hose, pretty thick wall, very happy with it. I originally ordered the Jet 4" (much more expensive at twice the price), but it has been backordered by amazon for 6 weeks now.

    Shipped without delay from Grizzly.

Vacuums Review Good for wood floors and light clean up
For hardwood floors, it does a good job. On carpet it'll clean up light spills and it's convenient on stairs. For what it costs, and without the expectation that it will do the same as a "regular" vacuum cleaner, it serves its purpose well. To me, it's basically a Dustbuster with a motorized brush. I think the Dustbuster "Dirtbuster" vacuum is better and has a stronger vacuum, although the Dustbuster doesn't have the motorized head.

Vacuums Review Great for Small Spaces
We got this to use in our 32 ft. motorhome. It does the job on the small carpet areas and gets in between the furniture easily with its small head. I use a small brush to remove the dust and fuzz from the catcher area when I empty it.
This doesn't take much storage space which was important to us.
Minor complaint: the catch that slides up and down to remove and replace the dust catching chamber is difficult to move.

    Vacuums Review Eureka Quick-Up
These little vacuums are the greatest thing since sliced bread. For people like me who can no longer lift heavy things it is just ideal for doing my cleaning.' I am amazed at the pick-up power it has. I highly recommend it for anybody with sore shoulders and neck or sore legs and knees. It makes vacuuming so much easier and it is just as efficient as by big heavy Electrolux!!

Vacuums Review Yeah, but where are the complete instructions and parts
I WAS HAD. The blurb mentions attachments (plural) Where are they? I got one!!! I called and was laughed at. Sort of a "Sorry, sucker" laugh. I wanted to know where the instructions were and got snickered at again. I guess that one page bit of nonsense with typos was all I was going to get. No explanation of how the automatic turn on off works. Called the manufacturer's distributor and got laughed at again.
While this may be a fine piece of equipment (I gave up and gave it away) it is totally lacking in (1) the attachments that are needed to use it (oh, did I mention that for nearly $100 "they" will sell you an accessory kit. Yeah, right!) and (2) the user's manual is all but useless and there is no on line help that I could find.
Save your money and buy one of the noisy but well equipped and instructed Craftsman marginal pieces of equipment.

    Vacuums Review Buyer Beware
I just, reluctantly, purchased my second Turbo II in six years. The first one started smelling like burned electrical patrs and overheating after four years of very light use (less than 100 total hours of weekend woodworking, dust collection from a random obrit sander, and general shop clean up) and I contacted the Pittsburg repair center. I was told that the motor was burning up probably due to dust getting through the filter and would have to be replaced. They sold me a new motor for about $90 and instructed me never to use the cloth dust bag by itself. I installed the new motor and dutifully used nothing but the 1 micron filter plus the Fein brand paper dust bags from then on. After a few hours use it began to smell again and eventually overheated to the point of warping the the housing. Funny thing, the suction stayed strong but it got louder. I sent it in to the Pittsburg repair center who gave me an estimate of $276 to repair it or $272 to exchange it for a new one. I talked to the technician who was baffeled as to why the thing had failed again because the motor was dust free. He said he understood why I was disappointed. They then offered to lower the repair charge to $160 with a six month warranty. I opted to buy another one from Amazon for $260 with a promotional offer. Fein is giving a three year warranty now with on line registration, a much better deal in my mind than throwing money into something that has already failed twice. Why am I buying another one? Because I already have a set of accessories for this vac. If I had it to do over again and I could stomach the price I would buy the Wap Attix 8/ASE. It is supposed to be a far superior tool and you can buy it for about $370 on other web sites (Roberts IMA Tools). The thing about the Fein is if you can't use the cloth bladder by itself and you can't use it in conjunction with the 1 micron filter or the filter bags (check both the Amazon an Fein US web sites to verify) what is it good for and why even supply it? If the filter bags must be used to protect the delicate motor as I was told(they are now touting the 9-55-13FB model I guess to signify the filter bag requirement)why not be up front about it? The filter bags are very expensive so you should fatcor that into the cost equation. This will be the last chance for Fein with me. It works very well when its working but shouldn't fail after such little usage. It is supposed to be high quality durable tool. We'll see this time.

Vacuums Review Been Using for Five Years, Best Vacuum I've Ever Owned
I have owned a lot of tank style vacuums. They tend to fall over, are messy and very loud. I am restoring a house and there is a lot of clean up and mess. This vacuum is whisper quiet yet very powerful. I am always amazed at the things it picks up. It comes with a very long hose. It is not one of the cheap Kenmore style that you step on once and it is kinked or broken. It has an extra long extention cord on it. You can also hook it up to any tool with a dust collection system. Plug the tool into the vacuum then every time the tool is on the vacuum comes on to suck up the mess.

After 5 years this work horse is still going. I have not had a days problem with it. It cleans so well that I generally use it for all my vacuuming. It is solid construction and I think in the 5 years I have had it I have tipped it over once. My other tank vacuums always fall over. The hose has held up extremely well. I am always pulling the tank around by the hose. This is well worth the money. I will probably have this my entire life. I would recommend buying all of the various accessories.

    Vacuums Review Used once
The product I received was not very well "Reconditioned" It stopped working after one use.
I contacted Bissell. They are willing to replace the machine. However, I am told it will take 7-10 days to send me a shipping label, 7-10 for them to receive the machine and then 7-10 more to send me a replacement. I don't have the box the cleaner came in. I need to find a box and ship it back. At very least it will be 3-4 weeks before the cleaner is replaced. I know Amazon will make it right but the aggravation with Bissell compels me to reccomend against purchasing this item.

Vacuums Review Belt broke on second use
I don't think I'd buy reconditioned again. The pump belt broke the second time I used the machine. The belt was in pieces and some of it was stuck to the shaft. I made the mistake of tossing the box after my first use. The machine is heavy and I don't know how I'll take it to be serviced.

Vacuums Review It's a carpet saver!
I received my Powersteamer last week and used it as soon as I assembled it which took maybe 2 minutes. It worked AWESOME! We have 2 boys & 2 dogs and thought that our beige rug was ruined in the high traffic areas. I only had to use the tough stain tool a few times and was not disappointed! I highly recommend this machine for anyone seeking a quality carpet cleaner. The reason for the missing star is that I had not received the TurboBrush, Scotchgard applicator or cartridge in my order. I notified Amazon and within 2 business days had a replacement machine. It was also missing those same items. Amazon.com has been wonderful in trying to rectify this situation for me in a timely manner.
