I purchased A Hoover Foldaway two years ago. I was dissatisfied with it. However, I purchased this vacuum about a month ago, and I am extremely satsified with it. This one seems to have more power than my old one. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who asked. I love the suction that this vacuum has!!!!!

I've been using this Shop Fox remote control switch for my 1.5 HP dust collector for nearly two years and it has performed flawlessly. The two hand-held remote controls allow me to keep one on the table saw and the other where ever I want to-- even clipped to my belt loop! The two remote controls come with batteries included, will operate the switch from a distance of 75 feet away, and they don't need line-of-sight to work...they even work sending the signal from outside or through the walls of an adjoining room! I've been so impressed that I recently purchased another one to turn on an outside water-feature pump from inside the house. Again, it works flawlessly. This is a great item for any workshop, and the low purchase price makes it one of the best values I've ever found. You'll wonder why you didn't buy one sooner! I highly recommend it.

I have the 10 gallon vacuum. These bags are obviously too big for it. In trying fit the first bag into my vacuum, I either tore the tape binding the end, or it tore on its own. I've had these bags before and they didn't seem as big. It was the first thing I noticed. I've also used the Shop Vac brand and generics but think these bags are designed better if they fit. I don't think I'll order them again though. I'll just buy the ones at the home centers.

I've used these filter bags since I purchased my Porter Cable 15 Gal. capacity Wet/Dry vac. Sure the vacuum works without the bag, but for plaster, drywall, and demolition dirt/dust, you're going to want it. The bag keeps the vac's main filter from getting clogged up, and when the bag is full, you simply lift it out and throw it away! And they're pretty tough too! I like to milk the most from every bag and even full of plaster dust and debris (heavy) it didn't rip or puncture on the way to the dumpster.

Did I mention the non-existent blow-out of dust material? Between the bag's filtration and the vac's filter, the dust gets trapped in the vacuum where it belongs - not floating around your job site.

Although I have dust collection on my table saw and other woodworking machines, the corner of my garage where my chomp saw resides is a mess. Sawdust on the floor, the walls, the shelves nearby, everywhere. The DownDrafter has reduced fugitive dust to near zero.

It is a simple, well designed unit that easily adjusts to fit behind your saw. I have a Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw and the DownDrafter snuggles up to the back of it nicely. When adjusting for angled cuts, the DownDrafter easily moves left/right on its wheeled stand. The hood swivels on top of the stand, independent of the hose, so movement of the hood doesn't make the hose twist.

I have the DownDrafter connecter to a Jet DC1200CK canister dust collector with 12 feet of 4" hose. There is plenty of airflow to capture most cuts. Rapidly cutting through 8" of MDF 1 1/2" thick, a dust nightmare, was a little more than it could handle. Slowing down the cut slight solved the problem.

Overall, this

The DownDrafer has performed very well collecting most of the dust produced by my miter saw. I recommend it highly.

Contrary to what other reviewers may say this will not allow you to connect a 1.5" Shop vac hose to a nominal 2.5" outlet found on apower tool. This is because the 2.5" end is the same diameter as the outlet on the power tool and so will not slide into the outlet!
I wish that Dry Vac made such an adapter but I rigged up an adapter from CPVC plumbing parts and, what else, Duct Tape!

The idea is pretty simple - 2.5 inches down to 1.25 inches. You absolutely need this to useShop-Vac 801-89-33 Micro Cleaning Kit. This fits snugly on the end of the hose that came with my Shop-Vac and the micro cleaning kit parts fit snugly into the small end. No annoying falling apart. You can also use this to attach a 1.25 inch hose to the dust port on quite a few power tools.

I researched for a long time before deciding to purchase a vacuum. I went to the store to buy a Hoover, and came out with this Electrolux after my husband and a store employee convinced me it was a better vacuum. I got it because of the Electrolux name and the $100 rebate. Well, from the moment I put it together, I was sceptical of the way the pieces fit together. When you start the rug attachment, it takes off on you, which is kind of cool. It also cleans my carpets wonderfully! I don't like the way the bare floor and other attachments just sit on it instead of attaching securely. I also find that the bare floor attachment doesn't have much sucking power. I have also had trouble getting the rug attachment off. You have to step on something on it, and pull. For me, it isn't easy, plus it seems as though it will eventually just break off. A few months ago, the rug attachment wouldn't work and I discovered that a prong that is part of the handle connections was bent. Well a few weeks
ago, it snapped right off and I had to bring it to a repair facility. Luckily it is still under warranty. But I have only owned it for about 8 months and I only use it once a week. It shouldn't be broken already. They just don't make vacuums as sturdy as they used to be. We have a very old real Electrolux that was given to us, used, by my husbands parents and it still
works. Of course it is held together buy a shoestring and lots of duck tape! I also have trouble with the rug attachment sucking up things like the cover for the couch and then shutting off. It is very powerful so beware. I still haven't gotten my vacuum back from the repair place, and they told me it might take a while depending on when Electrolux sends them the parts to fix it. I also have trouble finding the bags for it. Our old Electrolux, had bags you could find really cheap at any store, but not this one. I would not recommend this vacuum.

This is perhaphs the poorest vacuum I have ever owned. Even on the thinnest pile rugs, this vac. has trouble picking up dirt. The self-propel feature on the rug attachment pulls the vac along like a lawn mower, making maneuverability difficult. The "low" setting is not sufficiently low to remove dirt from newer, thin rugs. The step feature to release the rug attachment is difficult to use, requiring many attempts to release. The wood floor attachment is too tall, not fitting under baseboards or the front of kitchen appliances. The hose is so pliable that it always kinks, and the power cord is very short compared to other vacuum's.

Coolest feature - on-the-fly adjustment for surfaces and power options.

Pros:
Easy to use. Very adaptable system. Tools and manual cleaning system are at your fingertips. Very long power cord and attachment hose. Incredible suction. Emptying the bin is trivial, and essentially a clean process. Contrary to competitor claims, Dyson vacs do *not* spew dust into the house. In fact, the lifetime filter is user cleanable making the whole unit basically cost free--again, a trivially simple process.

Cons:

This thing sucks so hard that it's difficult to push on deep pile carpet. I called Dyson about this and they had me remove two very thin seals from the beater-bar head. The result completely fixed the issue. There was no apparent loss of cleaning capability. The power cord is exceptionally long. Unfortunately, it does not automagically retract. The long cord can get in ones way, however one does not have to move it from plug to plug as much. Yes, it's plastic. But other reviews have indicated reliability and good support from Dyson.

Both my wife and I find the Dyson to be an excellent purchase. We've had lots of problems with vacuums because of three dogs and long haired humans. This machine does a much better job of things and is much easier to use.

Worth the money? Time will tell. The reason why we selected Dyson is because of all the good reviews all over the Net. So far, it has exceeded our expectations.

I purchased a reconditioned DC-14 low reach Dyson about a month ago for my wife. It arrived the same day as our new carpet was being installed, what planning!!. I have never written a review on any other item that I have purchased as I have always believed you do your research and buy accordingly. I can truly say that this vacuum has exceeded my expectations. I know they are not inexpensive but with this machine we got our money's worth. The service from Amazon was just great and our vacumm arrived about a week early.

I have now owned this vacuum for one year. I waited this long to review to test the reliability of this very pricey machine...

It has stood up to the one year test and is still performing wonderfully. First tip would be to wait for a sale (I purchased through Amazon at an amazing low price, with free shipping as an added bonus!)

We have a brand new house, a small child and a houseful of cats, long and short haired. I knew I needed a good vacuum. This Dyson does everything it says it does. The house smells fresher and cleaner once I'm done. Of course it does, look what came out of the carpet!

I wanted to address the hardwood floor comment...half of my downstairs flooring is hardwood, and I have had no problem. I turn off the beater bar most times, but others I don't. Either way it works fine...picks up everything, almost before I get to it, the suction is so good.
Another comment - on rugs...again, turn off the beater bar....the suction is so good that it gets all of the cat hair & dirt out of the rug.

The hose is also another reason I purchased this machine, it stays out of the way until you're ready for it, and then it is plenty long, it stretches all the way to the top of the staircase...13 steps.

Another tip, empty the canister when the dirt inside stops spinning...I learned this after waiting too long and then it is a little tougher to empty.

Also clean the beater bar once every so often, mine gets tangled with hair, fur, etc....and decreases performance a bit. (This probably goes for most vacuums!)

I will say that I have not once used the low reach tool, so another model w/out this feature would probably do fine.

No bags and filters to buy! Easy to clean!

I highly recommend this vacuum, especially if you can get that low price!

Excellent product. Keeps coffee hot for several hours and doesn't impart a "metallic" taste as I have found with the all stainless steel models. Have not had any problems at all and works as expected. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a 1 liter glass-lined carafe.

I bought this carafe shortly after I got a Cuisinart self grinder. It worked at first, but then it leaked! :( However, as good to their word, Amazon was great for replacing it. Now the new one will keep coffee hot ALL DAY. (if I desire, and some days, I do.) I know some reviewers complained about it dripping from the spout when you pour it, but I have not experienced that at all. It works great and I highly recommend it! PEACE

I purchased the black version of this carafe to keep coffee warm at work. The carafe is glass lined, but very durable. Someone at work dropped the carafe onto something hard, resulting in a dent in the carafe and scratches in the finish. I had expected the glass liner to have shattered, but the carafe is still working fine.

I pour hot water into the carafe and swish it about before dumping the hot water out and adding coffee. Adding the hot water first helps to keep the coffee hot for hours on end. I have come back the next morning to find the coffee still warm from the day before.

My only complaint is that the opening in the carafe is small which makes it impossible to clean. After only a short time, the inside of the carafe has turned a brownish color from the coffee. This is not really a big deal since it does not affect the look of the carafe and we only use it for coffee. But if you mind coffee buildup, you might not like this carafe.

In summary, a great, inexpensive carafe that is durable and will keep your coffee hot for hours if you preheat the carafe with hot water first.
