Good vacuum bagThis is the only bag I've tried in my vacuum. I have not tried the s-bag classic, which is cheaper and has less filtration. This bag works well. The only problem I have with this bag is when it's full, you are suppose to pull a cardboard flap to close the bag, but it(the bag) is usually overflowing when the vacuum light comes on(telling you to change the bag), and you cannot close the bag. Meaning, the bag is not dust free unless you empty the bag before the vacuum light comes on.
Wonderful! This Electrolux S-Bag Clinic Vacuum Bag is the best! It lasts long and dust and other particles stays in the bag when it's time for a change!

Excellent Product - Beware CanistersWe love this product. It is performing wonderfully with ball jars, bags, and even wine bottles!! It has been extremely useful. It works exactly as advertised. We received this for a Christmas present this year. However, our one complaint, and it's not a minor one, is the problem with cracks in the canister sets. They definitely have a cracking problem. All canisters received at Christmas have now cracked. If you read the online reviews for the accessory sets, this is a very common problem. Have yet to see if they will be replaced by the company since we failed to register the products when we received the gift, but it will still cost us time and shipping. Since you tend to buy the accessories as part of buying the sealer, I'm docking the product a star in my rating.
The Best One YetI own a previous model which is still working good after 10 years plus. I was glad to see much improvements with the new one. This item should be on your got to have list. I can't live with out it.
Works greatItem works real well. Meats when defrosted seem just like fresh. Makes veggies last longer. Also got the marinator and that works good. The mason jar attachment is a must have also. Saves money with reusable jars. Glad I purchased it.

We love the vacume.........Great suction, low noise. Looks great. The attachment hose for doing stairs is too short, so when I am vacuuming stairs I have to bend really down. Not easy.
Pleasantly SurprisedI was a bit worried when I first bought this, since the box didn't list any specifics about the power level of the cleaner. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. If you want a great vacuum but don't want to spend the equivalent of a car payment on a Dyson, buy the EmPower. It's pretty powerful, and the pet attachment does exactly what it's supposed to do. I was kind of freaked out with all the dirt, dust and pet hair that ended up in the cannister, but seeing all that plus a clean carpet gives you a pretty good feeling of satisfaction. The cord is extra loooong, which makes going from room to room easier, and the brushes on the bottom of the vacuum really work the nap of the carpet to make it look brand new when you're done. The rotating brushes also create a traction feature, like a lawnmower, that makes it glide across the carpet surface - since I'm so used to pushing crummy cleaners, it almost flew out of my hand the first time I used it. I agree about the "hush" mode feature, however - sounds like a regular vacuum to me. But since I didn't buy it for that feature (who looks for a quiet vacuum?), I don't care that it's really a non-feature.
I suspect Hoover is phasing this model out, since it's on sale practically everwhere I see it (I got mine at Home Depot), but as long as they continue to sell the filters, this is going to be my primary vac for a long time to come. It's a great buy at this price and higher.

Great for the price!I picked this vacuum up over the weekend literally because I saw it on clearance on an endcap at Target. It said it did well on hardwood floors, worked well with pet hair (we have 2 dogs and 2 cats) I wanted onboard attachments, AND to top it all off it was green--my favorite color! I immediately came home and vacuumed our bedroom. It was so disgustingly full of pet hair that I can't believe we were walking on that carpet! My husband loves the upholstery attachment. It's one thing to suck dirt off a couch, it's another to have an attachment that has a mini brush to actually power dirt and pet hair away! The only thing is that the "hush" mode doesn't work. I don't need it to work but I think it's a funny feature to have, because it sounds exactly the same.

Handy but doesn't get the job doneI bought this vac due to being cordless which is handy being in a wheelchair, read the reviews and was excited to give it a try. Well, two months later I am getting another Vacuum cleaner, yes it gets animal hair but not much else. Not much suction, when it does pick up stuff it stays in the bottom of the beater base so when you turn it off to move, all the stuff falls out. So then I go back to the old standard broom and dust pan. This is the second dirt devil I have owned and the last!
Wonderful - just what I wantedI've owned several of these little electric brooms, done the Swiffer, and looked for anything that would do the simple task of picking up dust bunnies, dog hair and sand without dragging out the big vacuum. We live in the NE and all winter the streets are sanded and this grit is tracted in by the dogs. This one is perfect. It has more suction than I expected, the charge stays longer than most rechargebles and is much lighter than I expected. I love it. You can get cheaper versions of this type of product but I think it's well worth the money. I've had a handheld Dirt Devil I use for the stairs for at least 10 years and never had a problem. I think the brand is reliable and well made.

Don't make the same mistake I did.............I've owned the original Hoover Floormate for several years, and it served me very well. When it finally broke, through no fault of it's own, I didn't hesitate to buy another one. At the time, about 1 year ago, the SpinScrub 800 was so new that the only way to buy it was through Sears online.
I waited with great anticipation for it to arrive. When it finally did, I immediately set out to clean not only the floors but the grout as well.
Within moments of turning it on, the receptacle tank would shut off. I called Hoover, and they said they'd send me a replacement. After a couple of weeks, I received a piece which I couldn't possible replace on my own. Hoover suggested taking it for service, the nearest place being about 30 minutes away.
Already this was starting to be ridiculous - a brand new unit which cost me about $279.00 and was unusable. Next, Hoover sent me a replacement tank, for the SpinScrub 500, though. By the time I started using the machine, the new receptable tank still shut off, but now I found that the machine completely lacked the suction needed to pick up any water on the floor.
Since I was obviously under warranty, I brought the unit into the Hoover service center, where they kept it for 2 weeks. The technician said " I certainly hope you didn't use this as a vacuum, because this will clog up almost immediately."
Well, I had never used it as a vacuum, but indeed it was clogged, and I was charged $50.00 to fix it as Hoover does not cover clogs in their warranty.
The tech also said that he's been repairing quite a few of these for the same reason.
Well, I got it back and guess what? It still doesn't pick up the water.
I went out yesterday and bought a new Floormate H3000, and the difference is night and day. That works, the SpinScrub 800 does not. And, the Spinscrub 800 is much heavier, and much more expensive.
This is a classic example of taking a really good machine, and making it into a horrible one. Sometimes things can't be improved. The SpinScrub 800 is like a bad sequel.
I am resigned to having wasted close to $300.00 on something which is completely unusable.
Hoover is completely unsympathetic to my complaint. They've told me that no one else has voiced any problems with the SpinScrub 800. I don't understand how that's possible, since I can see from the reviews listed here the same common issues.

Hoover FloorMate 800This model 800 works better than the older 3000 model, tanks remove and go back on easier, still not enough capacity in the tanks for me, I have to fill and empty the tanks every 500 square feet of tile. The wider brushes speed up cleaning and the brushes do a better job getting into the grote then the older model, still only does a marginal job with the grote. Does a better job overall than trying to clean with a mop and bucket. Hopefully this one will last longer than the 1st model fm3000 which had a bearing go out on the motor around the 2 year mark.
Hoover 3060 FloorMate ReviewI ordered this machine with some trepidation after reading what others had to say in their reviews. I also decided to upgrade to this system over the smaller unit which sells for less money. However, after using it for the first time to clean over 2700sf of tile and marble, I am very happy with the machine on most accounts. Yes, one must move slowly to accomplish the best cleaning job, but that is true of doing it by hand as well. I start at one wall and follow the row of tile to the other wall, move to the next row, and so on, until a room is completely cleaned. This way, I do not forget where I last cleaned, nor do I miss any spots. It goes at about the same pace as using a buffing machine on tile floors. The nasty, dirty water collecting in the lower reservoir is testament to the job the Spin Mate is doing.
The negatives: the cleaning solution is overpriced and the reservoir doen't hold very much. I had to refill 9 times to clean my floors. The add-on tools are pretty useless, they just seem to spray out cleaning solution without much cleaning taking place.
The positives: No dirty mop water left on the floor! No scrubbing on hands and knees! The grout brushes do a very nice job on my grout lines, which are all done with brown-toned grouts. Thank goodness I had sense enough when putting in these floors to stay away from white grout!
My summary: if you are patient enough to let this machine move at it's own pace across your floors, and you do it in a systematic way, you will be very pleased with how clean and fresh your floors look and smell.
By the way, a long-time janitor friend told me to always use only a dab of cleaner in proportion to water when doing floors, as the cleaners build up over time resulting in a sticky mess. Therefore, I used only 1/4 of the recommended cleaning solution in my mixture, and used very hot water.
Hope this helps anyone else who is considering this cleaning machine.

Great concept, but canister needs to be redesigned.I have had four of these, and three have failed. The first two developed cracks, and I suspect that the dishwasher, in which I only washed the bottom part of the marinator as advised, warped and weakened them. After buying two more, the first two having been relegated to the potting shed as seed-starters, I have handled them with kid gloves so to speak, (no dishwasher), and the seal on one fails to hold for even a few hours. So far, so good with the fourth one. Whoopee. These are not cheap items, and even if they were less costly, a 75% failure rate is quite unacceptable. If they really functioned as they should, they would be fabulous for not only marinating in short order, but storing other items as well. All the round canisters and the wide-mouth jar sealer work exceedingly well, but I'll not buy any more "marinators" until there is a successful improvement in design.

A must have itemWhen it comes to infusing flavor and marinting foods this is a must have item. It quickly infuses flavors without some of the drawbacks of long term exposure of some marinades. Acids and salts can breakdown foods over time and change the texture, composition and taste. This handy item does the job quickly and preserves the fresh flavors of both the primary food (meat, fish, poultry) and the fresh ingrediants used in the marinade. For summer BBQ is is the ticket for keeping foods moist. Instead of brining cut up chicken for hours try 1/2 in the marinator, then on to the grill. Marinating vegitables for the grill also works excellent and is quick and easy.

Easy to Handle, Great SuctionI purchased this vac a few weeks ago. I specifically needed something small, lightweight and capable of fitting into the tight spaces of the couch cushions and for cleanup around my office. This vacuum met my expectations and was very affordable too! I'm in Florida and I go to the beach often. Being that I just purchased a brand new car, I hated having to deal with the sand that would wind up all over my carpet and seats. I was really impressed with how my Shark handled sand grains. I could very well have purchased a different type of vac for my car but I like this one so much that I use it for my regular car cleanings, too. It maneuvers well under my car seats but my one complaint would be that the barrel could be a bit narrower. Granted this is a household vac afterall but it works well for my other jobs, too.

Good hand-vaccuum cleanerIt is a very handy cleaner. sucks up all the dirt particles on the carpeted floor. Empty the cup, clean filter, dry it(filter) and charge it.
Make sure you empty the charge completely before recharging it. If at a point (towards the end of the charge) it won't suck anymore, I keep running the vaccum almost till the end say like 2-3 mins till the buzz sound lowers and lowers and then only I recharge it. This keeps it going for a long time.
Very good handy vacuum for stairs and cars.

Trust me on this one!!We have a 400 square foot tiled Florida room and two large dogs who are in and out the back door constantly, in additon to many visitors. Over time their dirty paws had darkened the colored grout considerably, and I was looking for a solution to cleaning it without breaking my back (I have enough to worry about around the house).
After laboriously reading the reviews on both the H3030 500 and the 800, it seemed as if the general consensus was that both were good products. Granted, there were a couple of negative reviews, but I thought 'oh well you can't please everyone' and ordered it anyway.
Oh boy, was I wrong... If you are not concerned with cleaning grout, then I guess this would be okay for you. But even then, the reservoir doesn't hold much and depending on the sqare footage you have to clean, you will find yourself emptying and refilling frequently. It didn't even TOUCH the grout, the rotating brushes were no stiffer than a hairbrush. When it arrived I was really excited to try my new machine, and then I was massively disappointed. To top it off, the handle comes to you in two pieces, (unassembled-it easily snaps together) but it doesn't come apart to ship back, so it won't fit back in the box! Plus we lost the $18 shipping fee to return it. TOTAL waste of time, energy and money. Don't make the same mistake.

Better than a broom, but not as good as I'd hopedI'd like to give 3 and a half stars, but since I don't have the option, I put 3. This product isn't bad - it is a good way to give a quick touch up on our tile floors. It's definitely less work than a broom, but is not quite as effective as I had hoped. We have a fairly large tiled area, and with 3 people (including 1 teenager) and 3 cats, there's a lot of dust, hair and crumbs on the floor. The sweeper did okay with the dust and hair, but the vacuum is only so-so on what it picks up. It would not pick up kitty kibble crumbs, for instance. A whole piece of cereal will not get vacuumed up, while a crushed piece of cereal probably will. The key to this product is to use it often - if the floor gets too dirty, it's too much for this product to handle. But for quick every day maintenance, it beats getting out the broom for sure.
Great ItemI love this item with my laminate floors. I can't believe this has as much suction for a little vac. I am very satisified.
Cleans well but dies before finished with houseI am not sure if i messed up the battery on mine or not. When I took it out of the box i turned it on. then read the directions which say DO NOT TURN ON UNTIL YOU LEAVE IT PLUGGED IN FOR 24 HOURS. My Swiffer vac works great but dies before i am finished cleaning all the floors in the house my friends tell me that theres does not die. But i have alot of floor to clean also. SO DONT USE IT UNTIL YOU CHARGE IT and you will probably be fine

Average review score:

got great reviews, but it's a terrible vacuum surprisinglyI bought this vacuum after reading so many great reviews of it.. sure it is powerful and big, it is very very heavy and the button to release it so it will vacuum sticks often and doesn't depress easily. It is not worth the price in my opinion I wish I had gotten an Oreck XL as I had been considering and --perhaps I got a lemon, but I can't return it to Eureka either for some reason which I still don't get since I bought it less than a year ago.
Best Vacuum Ever.I have hardwood floors and a few large area rugs.....and cats. I have two rugs whose main colors are black and white. My last vacuum left a layer of cat hair on the rugs that made them look dirty even after vacuuming. The first day I used this vacuum I was instantly hooked. My rugs went back to black and looked clean and new again. I didn't think they'd ever look that nice again.
The vacuum is heavy, but it's worth it. It's suction power is still VERY powerful even after 6 months of daily use. I got this vacuum around Christmas time after doing all my research and reading a ton of reviews and weighing the pros and cons.
I waited 6 months before writing the review just to see if anything came up. Six months into it and I still love it.
There are two issues that you should know about though: the lever that makes it recline is tough to depress. You really have to give it some weight to get it to release. The other thing is that the lever that switches it from carpet to hardwood floors is also very difficult to depress. I actually had to email their customer service to figure that out because I thought it was faulty. Turns out you just have to be rough with it and MAKE it click. After the first few tough clicks it works fine.
Those are the only two drawbacks, and they're not even really drawbacks-more of FYIs.
It has really helped me keep the place clean. I love it. I would buy it again and again if I had to.
You will not be sorry you bought this vacuum, ESPECIALLY if you have pets!

Consumer Reports rates it as a Best Buy!So glad I read Consumer Reports reviews and other Amazon customer reviews before I purchased another vacuum. It came with an extra six bags and one extra belt. One reviewer said she had never seen such a flimsy vacuum belt which is true, but it seems to do the job! A vacuum repairman once told me that vacuum belts should be changed every 3 to 6 months instead of waiting until they break.
I love this vacuum because it has such power, with the necessary attachments, and it is very quiet compared to other vacuums I have owned with much less power.
The Eureka 3870DT is a great buy. The bags are easy to change and the instructions are easy to understand...so save those instructions!
One warning to those with any physical limitations or lots of stairs! This is a very heavy vacuum! Another style of vacuum would perhaps be a better choice.
Go for it if you want a quiet and powerful vacuum that performs well.
