Placed an order on 11/10/04, product says ships within 24hrs. Upgraded to two day mail so I would get it on the 15th(ordered before weekend). Received 4 emails in the next few days all about delays, customer service upgraded shipping to next day at no charge, not helpfull if that delivery date gets delayed twice. Cancled order and ordered from a place that really has the item in stock.

I have been a long term customer here and love amazon.com. I was shocked that they would join the crowd and sell something they didn't have, and still offer it for sale with a time of shipment of 24hrs all through my nightmare of shipment delay emails.

My suggestion is if time really doesn't matter, try to get supersaver shipment, for the most part my wife and I receive items within 4 days.

If you really need something: upgrade your shipping, if you receive a delay email, I would bet they really don't have it, don't write them, just cancel your order and try somewhere else.

This is just a plastic sleeve which fits over the end of two 2.5 inch diameter Shop-Vac brand hoses. There isn't any means to secure the hoses from pulling apart when using this item, so if you'll be pulling the vacuum around by the hose, you may need to whip out the duct tape or even apply Shoe Goop or other product to make the connection permanent.
For general "just need to connect two lengths of hoses" for extra reach, this works fine.

This hose is great stuff, thick walled, plastic spiral means cuts easily but still holds shape, smooth internal wall. Fits all the 2.5" ports that I have (Incra wonderfence, Rikon bandsaw, DW735 planer) as well as the dust collection fittings that woodcraft sells for 2.5" hose.

Look no further for quality, reasonably priced hose.

HOOVER HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE BELTS STRETCHING OUT ON ALL THE SELF PROPELLED VACUUMS, BUT WIL DO NOTHING FOR CUSTOMERS STUCK WITH THEM! WE MUST REPLACE THE DRIVE AND PROPEL BELTS EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. REDICULOUS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is a great vacuum for the price. I have 3 cats and it picks up all their hair and I have 2 kids and it picks up all the crumbs they leave behind. I also love the onboard attachments and use them often since they are located right on the unit.
The only downside is that it's very heavy but it has rollers on the back so you can move around the house fairly easily.
For the money, it's a great deal!

We had to purchase a vacuum for our plushy soft carpet that our Oreck XL couldn't handle. (Oreck's great for stairs, bare floors.) This summer is bad in terms of fleas and I needed something ASAP! I vacuumed the upstairs yesterday with the Oreck to put down flea powder in the bedrooms. I wanted a bagged vacuum because our experience with bagless is it just puts all the dust and dirt back in the air when you empty it.

After getting it home (bought at Costco) and very easy assembly, I started it right up and tested it out. The self-propelled feature is a must for those thick carpets. Otherwise, you would be burning some serious calories. It was easy to use and very manueverable around furniture, tables, and corners. I carried it upstairs with one arm. (It's heavy but has a handy opening/handle in the back.) I revacuumed the entire upstairs.

Here's the best part: I took the bag out to see how much it collected. The bag was almost full from dust, carpet fiber, dirt, and most importantly, FLEAS! I was amazed at how much more this picked up compared to the Oreck. The dirt detection feature is nice but I didn't have time to vacuum my carpet all day to get the green light to stay on. It took 10 or more passes over a certain area before the green light would come on.

It does a wonderful job. The tools are easy to get to and easy to use. Just pull the hose out from the floor beater bar. It comes with extension poles and an extension hose. The hand-held motor brush is good for furniture. The vacuum bags are made out of the same material that you would put on an air filtration system. There is no seperate filter to change. (Very nice.) I will still use my Oreck for the stairs since it is much lighter and compact.

Very easy to use and very powerful and efficient. We bought from Costco in case we didn't like it and wanted to take it back. Costco has the best return policy.

This adapts a 4" hose to a 2.5" hose. It does not allow you to connect a 4" hose to a common 2.5" machine outlet. Woodcraft and Rockler have a 4" to 2.25" adapter which allows a direct connection.

If your worried about this thing fitting STOP !! This fitting fits inside the standard 4" collection hose no problem.As for the reduction end it's also true and mated with my shop vac hose just fine. Here's a little helpful hint.If your having problems with fittings or your dust collection hose has a weird tweek in it and wont fit up under your machine like you want.Use a heat gun or a hair drier to slowely heat up the hose and then position it however you need to. Now get out there and collect some dust.

I had been using my screaming, ear-killing ShopVac for dust collection on my router table until I bought this adapter. Now I use my quiet, absolutely wonderful JET 1100 cfm dust collector (see that review), connected to the hose from my ShopVac through this adapter. I can actually hear my router now!

This will adapt your 2 1/2" vacuum hose to your 4" dust collection hose. I can even vacuum the floor without going deaf now! Such a cheap improvement; your ears will thank you!
