Do not buy this vacuum! It's a piece of junk!We got this vacuum as a gift at our wedding shower. I didn't know much about vacuums when I did my registry online and so I added this one to my registry. We had this vacuum for a year (used it about once a month if that) and then when we bought our house we started to need it more but it decided to stop working. Hubby took it apart because there was no suction and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He put it back together and still no suction. Right now it's sitting in my basement since it's practically new but soon it'll be going to the dump. Very hard to clean. Filter is ALWAYS clogged. Basically, this is a piece of junk!!!!
Do NOT buy this vacuumI bought this vacuum at Best Buy and after TWO uses it became useless: no suction, just blows dust around. Filter clogs in a heartbeat, messy to empty, and canister will not fit back in correctly.
Don't waste your time with this product.

BELT REPLACEMENTI haven't had any problems with my machine. Anything you purchase you have to take care of in order for it to last. I clean my filter and even my rotary duster on a regular basis. Recently the belt broke and I had a hard time finding the replacement, BUT that was only because I didn't write down my model number! I was able to find what I was looking for, here's the link; http://www.sharkcompany.com/shark/productdetail.aspx?pid=29A2CCD8-9E53-4C23-88C8-91056216(Euro-Pro+Base+Catalog)
You get a great deal! 4 bulbs and 4 belts for $16.00?! That will last you PLENTY of time!
Hope this helps some of you!

DO NOT BUY ANY SELF PROPELLED HOOVER VACUUMSHOOVER HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE BELTS STRETCHING OUT ON ALL THE SELF PROPELLED VACUUMS, BUT WILL DO NOTHING FOR CUSTOMERS STUCK WITH THEM! WE MUST REPLACE THE DRIVE AND PROPEL BELTS EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. REDICULOUS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Do NOT buy this vacuum, or any vacuum from HooverI have never written an online review, but I am compelled to write one now. I purchased this vacuum 4 months ago. Since then, it has broken 3 times with only light use (about twice a month), and I have had to drive it 30 minutes to the nearest Hoover service center, then go back a few days later to pick it up. The third time it broke I called Hoover to find out how I could go about replacing or exchanging it. They told me "that's what the warranty is for," and said they would not take responsibility for replacing it. So I am stuck with it. Based on this experience, I would caution anyone to think twice about purchasing a Hoover. I certainly will never buy from them again.
Just so-soMy Hoover Windunnel bagless worked fine for a few months. When I bought it I also bought the extended service agreement for $50 because I'd read that they didn't have a good repair record. It was a wise investment. I needed it after a year.
To keep suction, you have to empty the canister each time and clean off the filter. This is a time consuming and dirty process. It loses suction quickly when the filter gets clogged. Thank goodness for the self propelled option. It's heavy and not easy to push without it. It's also very loud.
It doesn't do bare floors well at all unless you use the hose and floor attachment. By just using the upright, the small rock particles are thrown by the brush to other areas of the floor and if the filter is plugged, it won't pick them up anyway.
I will say that it worked pretty well in the beginning. I liked having the hose and all the attachments at my fingertips. The compartment keeps them handy and they don't fall out while vacuuming.

Very PleasedI should of owned one of these long ago. It really has a lot of vacuum power. I've owned it about eight months with out any problems. The only draw back is If you make your own bags from a roll it will not vacuum a cross seal only the way it comes off the roll.
Great if you have freezer spaceMy wife thinks this is the greatest gadget ever made. We gave our old one to her sister and bought another for us. It is totally automatic -- put the food in a bag, put the bag in the sealer, close the lid, and press a button. Seconds later, a vacuum sealed bag that goes right into the freezer. You have to be careful not to get grease in the end of the bag where you're sealing, or the seal might not be perfect and the bag will fill with air over time (good idea to check the bags in the freezer every few days until you get used to using this thing). The good news is that you can usually cut off the old seal, wipe the inside of the bag, and reseal it.
Some units come with a wine cork for vacuum sealing partial bottles of wine: this works quite well, too, but a VacuVin is simpler and faster (you don't have to plug anything in to vacuum out the air in a wine bottle).

Its ok ok....The look of vacuum looks great. Its very sleek... It was easy to set up and I started vacuuming right away. I was impressed that it picks up my cat's hair very well. It filled up the bagless canister quickly. I was awed after vacuuming a small area of wall to wall carpet. I had to to go through endless sneezing after emptying the bagless.... I tried to vacuum the hard-floor, it did pick up some dirts but I noticed it does not pick up a chip of popcorn. When I was done with it, I had a hard time closing the compartment. It was either the electric cord was not wrap up properly or the fastener couldnt lock in. I realized that I might go through struggling to put the cord back into right position to get it closed every time when I use the vacuum. I did not want to go through this kind of hassle in the future. Another thing about the tools in the compartment, it kept falling off. The extra tools such as extra long hose and a floor wand that came with this vacuum does not have a place to put on the machine. I do not see what's big deal about folding down the vacuum? I decided to return this item back and look for a better product...
Definitely a very good vacuum cleanerI've had my Hoover 700 for 6 weeks now and everytime I use it I tell myself I should add my review for this cleaning machine. I think buying a new vacuum cleaner is like buying a car... you know your going to be using it for quite awhile and you definitely want to make the right choice!
Overall, I'm more than happy that I chose this machine. After using it quite a bit I have only found a couple things I'm not overly happy with.
Here are my positives:
1) Does a great job of cleaning. I'm very satisfied with the basic job it does vacuuming. To be honest, I don't see how any other machine could do a better job. I replaced an 9 year old Hoover with this one and this EASILY out performs my old one (and I remember paying about $300 for it).
2) The wide tread is really a bonus and my carpet looks much better after cleaning... with the wheel's far to the outside the carpet ends up being fluffed up uniformly .. doesn't have much of the ... 'hey, I just vacuumed 2 minutes ago' look.
3) the conversion from canister to upright really does give you the best of both worlds. If you vacuum stairs this machine is a no brainer. In the folded position it is way stable.
4) The big surprise feature that I didn't know it had was an automatic shutoff if the brush becomes 'jammed'. I guess I'm a littel lazy sometimes and I will leave a pair of shoes out and kind of push them out of the way as i vacumm. Well, sometimes I catch the laces and this machine will detect the resistance and shut off!! I've ruined many laces over the years and had a hard time getting them out of my old machine. Well, I caught some laces again and the vacuum quickly shut down. GREAT bonus feature!!!
5) This maybe a common feature but I didn't have it on my old vacuum. When you put this vacuum in the hardfloor setting the brush's stop so now I'm not shooting small pieces dirt around on my kitchen floor.
6) I didn't think looks was important but I really like the fact that this doesn't look like a standard vacuum. I have a bird and I vacuum the family room everyday.. first thing when I get home from work. I leave this Hoover out many times and when it is in it's folded position it is very unobtrusive. This is another real plus... it doesn't look like you have a vacuum sitting out.
7) It is much quieter than other vacuums I've tried.
8) I like the material the power cord is made out of. It is very pliable and has a slick coating... it does not tend to want to tangle like my old machine (big plus).
9) The telescoping handle is great even in the upright position. It really lets you clean a big area from one standing area.
10) The hose on this machine is very well designed... really pliable and expandable but kind of folds back into itself.. I'm sure alot of effort went into its design. Neat.
My not so positives:
1) The power cord/attachment compartment is too small for this model with the power cleaning attachment inside. You have to be very carfull how you wrap the cord and where the plug is located if you want to latch the cover down with no issues. My solution is to not store the power cleaning attachment in the compartment. Definitely not a plus.
2) Sometimes I have to giggle the machine by the handle to get the machine to release and fold down when I'm done with it... It seems to want to be in just the right upright position for that task.
3) The on board self cleaning filter is supposed to never need changing so this may not be a minus but if you ever do WANT to replace it, the instructions indicate it is not a task you can do at home.. you have to take it to a Hoover Service center.
Neutral:
1) The vacuum does take a little upper arm strengh to opperate. If you have very little I don't think this vacuum is for you however it is not that bad (although first reaction is that the vacuum is 'heavy' it soon does not seem to be an issue). But, I don't think I would like this vacuum as much if it was super light weight. I like it's stability in the folded position when I'm using the hose.. and I think the weight helps in the quailty of it's cleaning power... so it is a dual edged sword.
If you have a little upper arm strength I think this is a vacuum definitely worth the investment (again if you vacuum stairs too this machine is almost a no brainer).

For Serious Cleaning!Hoover has done an excellent job in the design of this machine, they have incorporated the latest technology in filtration and design. It can be used either as a canister or an upright, on carpet and hard surface floors, upholstery and blinds. Once you take the Z into a room you can do the floors clean the overhead fan, in other words, do the whole job. This vacuum is solid! It has the feel of quality. They did not skimp on features. Extra long cord, can do several rooms from one outlet. The hose length will allow you to do a flight of stairs with no problem. The wide cleaning head and power brush allow for less time in a room.
I could go on and repeat the features that others have written about, I will not. I am 65 and have had several vacuums in my life, this by far is the most impressive. Note: Currently selling at 389.00 at etronics.com. No shipping chg.

Not Worth the BotherI agree with the other reviewers. The wand constantly separates from the hose while vacuuming. Short of glueing it on I see no other way to keep it in place. Very annoying! Plus, glueing,as other reviewers state defeats the whole purpose of having a canister vacuum. Don't waste your money. It's true that you get what you pay for but if what you have to pay with is all you have you've lost all the way around. I've had two fantastic canister vacuums in my lifetime one was the Electrolux (the old steel model) and a Singer (no longer manufactured) they were great.
Major design flaw with this unitI just got the Hoover S3332 as a Christmas present this year to replace my broken vacuum cleaner. I hate to say it, but my broken vacuum cleaner works better.
The main problem has already been described by other reviewers: THE WAND CONSTANTLY BREAKS OFF FROM THE HOSE. While cleaning the living room, it happened no less than 8 times. This wasn't because I was treating it roughly or twisting it around or some such. There literally is no locking mechanism, so it barely takes anything to make the wand fly out.
This is really, really annoying. I could glue-gun them together, like some people have described, but that would render the main point of this unit useless (all the neat little brushes). This is a major design flaw - it's hard to comprehend how the people at Hoover missed this.
On another note, the suction power is just moderate. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was definitely more than this. It can suck up a penny, but it can't suck up some lint that has fallen between the cracks in a hardwood floor. Said lint can easily be removed by one's hand (i.e. it's not gelled in or something).
Please give serious consideration before buying this unit. It's not worth it.

An Average product, you get what you paid for.I needed a vacuum cleaner that needed to have good suction and above all portability. I knew that if the vacuum cleaner was heavy and bulky - like those floor models, my chances of lugging it around at the end of a hard work day would be very rare. So portability was my first concern.
The Hoover telios was my obvious choice for that reason. I paid $89.99 + tax for it.
It was cheesy red in color and like all other vacuum cleaners, its plasticky look was not appealing. But there were features here that seemed interesting. First it has a storage compartment in the front for brushes, etc for spot cleaning, etc. Then a hose connects to the front and that is connected to a metal wand. At the end of the metal wand is the floor attachment.
It has a bag for storing the trash it sucks up. I think those bags will increase the operating cost of the vacuum. I dont know for sure, never purchased vacuum cleaner bags before.
Operation: The vacuum cleaner has moderate suction power. I honestly think if it was a bit more, it would be better, since some times I do find fine ash particles still in the carpet fibers even after running the vacuum cleaner over the particular spot several times. But its not weak. A lady had written she considered a vacuum to have good suction if it could suck a penny up. This vacuum cleaner does that.
The problem with this model is that its metal wand keeps popping off the hose! And that is super irritating!! I got tired of having to bend down and reattach the bloody thing. The people at hoover dont have a good design sense... the metal wand is just pushed in to the hose... there is no threading or locking mechanism. So I did what was my only recourse... I got a bloody glue gun and hot glued the metal wand to the hose for good. This pretty much means I cannot use this infernal machine for anything other than floor cleaning... no way to attach those fancy brushes in the front compartment.
I am not happy with it. I wish there was a better option in canister vacuums.
Dont buy it unless you absolutely have to!
Addendum: After about 3 months of using this machine, I have already purchased a hand-held vaccum cleaner and a dyson animal. this one is in the loft gathering dust. It had low suction power, bad engineering design, and significant cost of operation (the bags), just not a winning combination.
Dont buy it. Period!

Rival No Customer ServiceI recieved one of these for Christmas, I would love to tell you how it works.....but it is missing a plastic piece. Now to be fair, I lost it, in the confusion of Christmas it must have gotten tossed. I called Rival to purchase a replacement piece. What a joke. I emailed....no response. I called, they don't know what I am talking about (even though it is clearly listed in the instruction manual), or if I get a rep who does know what the piece is, they say they don't have one to sell, but if I want to pay to ship the unit back and forth, they will replace it. I have left voice mail messages for non-existent supervisors. So, instead of being happy to pay for my own mistake of losing the piece, I will return this to the store as defective and get the money back. They lose a sale, the store loses a sale, they get in return an unhappy former customer and a defective unit. DO NOT BUY RIVAL PRODUCTS, we need to start showing these big companies who hide in voice mail hells that we are tired of poor, illogical treatment.
Great Product_Great CompanyI just want to say I am not sure why the person who lost a piece of the product in her (Dawn Ulepich "Dawnski337" (Illinois)) haste is criticizing the company for a bad product. I have only had one problem ever with a Rival product and when I called the company, they immediately sent a new product out to take care of the problem even though it was not a product problem but rather a handling problem. I have found that they are a more than fair company and will take care of their customers. They probably would have even taken care of replacement of the plastic part (even though she lost it). It is not fair to penalize the store from which it was bought or the company that produced it because of her carelessness.
