Sucks for the first week, then never sucks right againThis valcuum is great for the first week. Then you have to clean it after every room. Not only the bagless part, but the filter has to be taken outside and beaten. These filters are $25 and only last 1 week, but Hoover says they last for a year. I called Hoover and they said it was time to change the filter, after 1 week. my brand new carpets can't be that dirty. I am sooo sorry I bought this vacuum.
This Vacuum is HORRIBLEI really hate this vacuum. I've had mine for 3 years and it's been broken for half that time. The motor melts the belts and the damn thing gets clogged after only cleaning one room in our 4 bedroom house.
I hate this and I'm throwing mine away to buy a better one.

A good little vacuum cleanerI wanted a quality, lightweight vacuum because I have a house that has lots of tile and wood floor, and I hate to sweep. I have been using the vacuum for 3 months. Overall, I'm happy with the cleaner and its quality, but here is my list of pros and cons:
Pros: 1. Nice, lightweight design with good-sized bags (for the size of the cleaner) that are priced ridiculously at some online sites (range: $6 to $17 for 5 bags and filter). A bag has lasted me over 2 months so far (I have 2 kids and a husband who don't understand about door mats, but no dog hair to clean up).
2. Runs fairly quietly - personally I would love to find a vacuum that I can use while on the phone, as my friends all seem to call just as I have finished all housework except vacuuming. You could do it with this if you don't have it on max power, and if your friends don't mind you saying "What? What?" every few sentences.
3. Has excellent suction, all that I want (sometimes more) for floors and area rugs.
4. Wand is able to turn to lie flat to get under beds and sofas.
5. The all-purpose head that comes with the vacuum has wheels that roll well on the floor and don't scratch.
6. Components of the hose/wand attach securely but come apart for clearing a jam.
Cons: 1. The cannister doesn't roll well, because the front wheel is tiny and flimsy. You have to grab the hose and haul to get it to move. Tips easily, which I expect from any lightweight cannister vac.
2. The all-purpose tool is flimsy and when not in use attaches to the wand with a little clip - falls off easily.
3. Parts are a bit hard to find, and overpriced. The power floor attachment is $60 - but then if you're vacuuming wall-to-wall you may not want this model. (I haven't really tried to use it on wall-to-wall, however.)
4. The floor nozzle has felt strips that are glued to the plastic on the bottom to keep it from scratching the floor. On a vacuum cleaner I had from Bissel with the identical setup, one of the strips came off after a year, and couldn't really be reattached. On the other hand, this nozzle is slightly better designed, so maybe they'll stick (I hope).
5. Cord length is 17 feet, really should have been 20. It is long enough for my needs, but barely - I have an outlet about 3 feet from the stairs, and can just rest the thing at the top of the stairs while I go to pull out the plug at the bottom.
6. Feels like a relatively cheaply-made vacuum cleaner (for Bosch) sold at a quality price. I have had mine for 3 months, and the bag full indicator has already broken.
All in all, would buy it again, althought the cost of parts really galls me.

A great vacuum for both carpet and hardwoodWe have mostly harwood in our house, but the upstairs living area is all carpet. finding a vacuum that is accomidating to both is not a fun task, however this little sucker really sucks it up! It's great with stairs and VERY lite.
fantastic, but...O.K., I own a Miele Plus which my fiancee tends to "borrow" for extended periods and was looking for a backup vacuum that was just as good as the Miele, but not as expensive. I found this bargain. The performance is as good as the Miele in a nice compact package. This doesn't have the electric nozzle of the Miele, but the optional turbo brush does a pretty good job if you don't have a lot of carpeting, or shedding animals (fiancee has 5 cats). You may want to consider an electric brush if you have all wall to wall or shedding critters. Also, my Bosch can accept the non-electric attachments from the Miele. So, this fits my needs. The "but" is that the combination tool is not as nice as the Miele's separate tools and this lacks a Dusting Brush. On the other hand, I use the Miele attachments and this more than does the trick (not sure if Bosch would approve of this). I haven't tried the Miele's Micro Kit yet. This is a SUPER BUY if it accepts that attachment.

A vacuum to avoidI wish I had read the reviews of the Bissell Digipro prior to buying this vacuum. I would have known that debris gathers in the floor nozzle, they hose is very flimsy and tends to break, most of the exhaust escapes around the edges of the canister, the suction is quite weak and it is virtually impossible to find bags and even more difficult to find any store or internet site that carries parts for this model. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews and had to learn all of this first hand. Despite having spent several hundred dollars, I've learned from my mistake: The Digipro is going in the trash and I'm going shopping for a new vacuum. It might be an Eureka or Hoover, both of which we've had good experiences with, but it won't be a Bissell.
Poor DesignUsed this vacuum once a week for three months and accumulation of debris was gathering in belt area of powerbrush. We didn't notice the problem until the vacuum produced a burning smell. Bissel tells me that this isn't covered under warranty if debris is caught in the belt area. They also recommend cleaning this area regularly which is only accessable with removing 6 screws and taking the powerbrush apart!
I believe this is a poor design, the belt is place about an inch away from the outside edge of the roller. I had a Dirt Devil for 10 years and never had a problem.
Bag sensor doesn't work.
This will be the first & last Bissel I will ever own.

Loving it so far....I have had this vacuum for a few weeks now and I was so impressed with its features that I felt I should chime in on these reviews. First of all, I have not experienced any problems with the hoses, like others have mentioned. This vacuum has worked well on my wall-to-wall carpeting and even on a flimsy area rug in my daughter's room that my Hoover upright always ate. I haven't been able to get it to clean dust off of my hardwood as much as I'd like, but I prefer to mop that up anyway.
This is what I think sets the vacuum apart from the others I've tried, including my Hoover Windtunnel:
*Onboard attachments that don't fall off when you vacuum: they are stored inside the canister
*Ease of use on stairs: I have a split-level house with short staircases, so I don't have to carry the canister
*Retractible cord: You can just step on the cord button on the canister and the cord will disappear. I always hated having to wrap up the cord on my upright.
*Easy storage: because the canister separates easily from the brush part, I can fit it on the floor of my tiny linen closet, under the bottom shelf
I would definitely recommend this model for someone looking for a mid-priced canister.

Please learn from my experience !!Purchased this cleaner for my mother for Xmas. Almost impossible to fit water tank in it's proper placement. It took several attempts before latch could be engaged. Mom refused to use it !!
I used it less than 5 times before the latch finally broke. Phoned customer service at Dirt Devil and was told replacement part not sold. Given number of authorized repair center. I phoned them long distance and was told they couldn't get the part to repair it either. Called Dirt Devil back and explained what I was told. They wanted me to call several other repair centers- none even close to my location. Tried to explain
to customer service what the first repairman said, "where do they think I am going to get the parts to fix it with, but from them".
If, the part is unavailabe how do they think I can repair it`?Asked customer service what could be done. Was told to send unit to their repair center and they "MIGHT FIX IT" they would let me know, but they probably will charge me. This unit is still under
the 2 years warranty. Customer service is a joke. Please don't purchase this piece of junk unless you want to waste money !!!!
Wish I could give it a zero instead of "1".

Piece of junkThere is nothing else to say except that this product is a piece of junk!!! Don't waste your money!!! I'm trying to figure out the best way to get rid of mine.. If I lived near a Dirt Devil store/outlet, I'd probably just leave it on their lawn! I won't buy ANY other Dirt Devil products in the future...
Better the second time aroundThe first machine I bought was nothing but junk. Water spewed out all over the place. I called customer service and was referred to a repair shop. The repair guy called and said it was not worth repairing, Dirt Devil would send a new one to my home. About 5 days later it arrived, redesigned. The solution pedals were alot more simple (the first one had 1 pedal and you couldn't tell if it was on or off This one has 2 pedals.) The suction is awesome. I use ot on my hard wood floors and it picks up everything, including Cocker Spanial hair and the sticky apple juice my 3 year old spills. The waste water canister is not that big so you do have to empty it a few times but if it held any more water it would be too heavy to manuever. Overall I think it's a good value. I use mine weekly and have had many compliments on how good my floor looks.
*one thing I would change is how top heavy it is, it does fall over all the time.

Almost a necessity for your filterThis electrostatic filter may cost at the beginning, but it is worth the money spent.
Wait until you try and buy the regular filters over the counter. The regular filters that you might buy at a building supply store, do not fit, and after four-five months of good use, you would end up spending more on buying refills of the paper filter.
Bite the bullet and enjoy your filter. The good part, you clean it once a month, with water and it works.

Saves me MONEY!Love this filter. Just Vac. it out & its ready to use! Beats blowing money on the throw aways.
Clean Air in a Dusty Woodturning ShopI turn bowls and hollow forms on my lathe. During the sanding process, massive amounts of dust can be generated creating a large amount of airborne dust. The electrostatic filter in my Delta Air Cleaner traps this dust before it gets a chance to enter the air cleaner. It is easily removed from the unit and is a snap to clean. I've used disposable filters in the past which are either to thin or fill up with dust quickly and have to be discarded after only a short useful period. This new electrostatic filter solves the problem. I highly recommend it.
